He left me broken. Now he's back and his apology tastes like sin

Skr shot back, “What I do is my own business. I don’t see how that’s any of your concern.”
Freya sneered, “As your elder sister, I was just kindly reminding you. But since you clearly aren’t interested, I’ll just shut up.
“I’d better stop before you think my words are too harsh and run off to tattle on me.”

Freya rolled her eyes dramatically. As she walked past, she deliberately tried to bump into Skr, but Skr swiftly sidestepped, leaving Freya stumbling forward.
She lost her bnce and dropped straight to her knees before Skr.
Skr chuckled, “Freya, are you alright? Get up, please.”
To look good, Freya chose a dress and paired it with sheer stockings for her outing today. The stockings were so thin that they might as well have been invisible.
Her knee hit the concrete, sending sharp pain shooting through her leg. The pain was so intense that tears sprang to her eyes instantly.
Tears welling in her eyes, Freya red daggers at Skr and hissed, “Skr, how dare you gloat.”
Skr retorted, “Freya, stop assuming everyone’s as petty as you are.”
Skr’s ability to throw shade had only gotten sharper. Freya couldn’t outsmart her and finally shut up.
Freya shot Skr a venomous re, trembling violently as she struggled to rise from the ground.
Skr reached out a hand to help her up, but Freya shoved her away, scowling, “I don’t need your fake kindness.”
It took Freya a few moments ito /isteady herself before the sharp pain in her knee slowly began to fade.
Freya nced down and let out a sigh of relief. Her stockings were intact. The thought of having to parade around campus in ripped stockings made her cringe. She could already imagine the whispers and stares that would follow.
Freya reached down to feel her knee. Thankfully, the skin underneath didn’t seem scraped, but it was a little swollen.
Seeing that Freya wasn’t seriously hurt, Skr didn’t bother with her anymore and wandered off to enjoy a leisurely stroll around campus.
Worried Skr might cause trouble, Freya gritted her teeth against the pain in her knee and trailed after her.
“Freya?”
Hearing someone call her name, Freya turned around, surprised. “Professor Cross? What brings you here?”
Tucker Cross walked over with a beaming smile. “What a surprise to see you here. Why are you on campus so early?”
Freya exined, “My sister never attended college, so I thought I’d show her around.”
A man standing next to Tucker asked, “Is this your sister?”
The man had gray hair and appeared to be only in his forties or fifties.
He pushed up his sses and fixed his gaze on Skr.
Freya asked in disbelief, “Mr. Babin, you know my sister?”
Tucker was her undergraduate major advisor at Quante University, where he also served as the department chair.
Back when she was preparing for grad school, Freya went out of her way to butter up Tucker. Her calcted ttery was the only reason she scraped through the interview and got in.
Freya thought, ‘Anyone who could associate with Professor Cross must be someone important. How could someone like that possibly know Skrb?/b”
Dante Babin paused for a moment before nodding. “Yes, we do know each other.”
Skr was confused.
She racked my brain, but no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t recall ever meeting someone like him before.
But he seemed to know her so well.
Skr looked at him, puzzled. “Sir, are you sure you’ve got the right person?”
Dante chuckled, “I forgot that you wouldn’t know me. Then allow me to properly introduce myself.
“I’m Dante Babin, chair of the Computer Science Department at Quante University and also Dante.”
Hearing him say that, Skr was instantly transported back to three years ago.
Three years ago, Dante posted on an online forum seeking a sparring partner, and by chance, he was matched with her.
They engaged in an intense coding duel for over two hours, with her ultimately emerging victorious.
