Heaven Slaying Blade
Chapter 27 - 26: The Princess of the Royal Court
Chu Mo stood up, looking across the lake. Far away, there were a few figures, galloping wildly in this direction.
At this moment, the man spoke again, "Princess, Gerzha is a warrior of the Prairie. He is not afraid of death. If possible, Gerzha would rather fight a death-match with Great Qi!"
"But this time... this time is different, Princess!"
"Great Qi has laid countless traps and started closing in. Our royal court has long been divided by them. At least a third of the tribes on the prairie have surrendered to Great Qi... Princess, please come to your senses, we have already lost!"
"If you agree, you will still be the most honored princess on this prairie, your status will remain untouchable!"
"Princess, Gerzha implores you!"
The young girl seemed too angry to speak. Holding a small boy in her arms and accompanied by twenty to thirty riders, she was galloping towards Chu Mo.
One of the knights coldly snapped, "Gerzha, you are a traitor! Stop with your sweet talk. Whatever you say is useless. If you still have a conscience, let us go today. I, Germu, will remember your kindness!"
The knight behind him gave a bitter smile, "My dear brother, it's not about whether I want to let you go. If you don't surrender, these people beside me won't let you go either!"
"Then let's have a death-match! Gerzha, I won't show you mercy!" A young knight halted his horse, holding a long spear, blocking the way.
The young girl on the horse shouted, "Germu, you are no match for them! Come back quickly. As long as we reach Elder Haoyue, we will be saved!"
"Princess!" The young knight called out in agony, "Don't forget Germu! Germu died protecting the princess!"
"Germu...don't go!" The girl in front screamed, seemingly wanting to stop, but a knight beside her harshly whipped the rump of her horse.
The horse, in pain, suddenly sped up even more.
"Don't go!" The girl shouted desperately, her tears scattering in the air.
"Hahaha, Princess, don't grieve for me, the boys of the royal court are never cowards!" The young knight laughed wildly, directly charging towards the group of pursuers. His long spear was aimed at the knight in the front.
Gerzha.
His elder brother.
"Little brother!"
"Get out of the way!" Gerzha roared, "Don't foolishly throw away your..."
They were brothers, how could he bear to see his own brother rush to his death. But before the word "life" even came out of Gerzha's mouth, a knight beside him suddenly leaped up from his horse. With a flash of his sword, Germu's head fell off.
"No!" Gerzha howled, his eyes instantly filled with blood-red rage, ready to fight this man to the death.
The man who killed Germu landed gracefully back on his horse and looked at Gerzha coldly, "Do you want to die too?"
"Why did you kill my brother!" Gerzha roared back.
"He was looking for death!" The man said coldly, "If you want to die too and don't care about your family, I can accommodate you!"
"You.." Gerzha was boiling over with rage, his teeth practically shattered as he jumped off his horse, holding his brother's severed head, crying.
The girl who was running in the front now also knew what had happened. Tears fell like beads off a broken thread, but she did not make a sound this time, even with tears falling like rain, she forcefully held back her sobs.
All hatred was stored in her heart.
Chu Mo watched this scene unfold, without any hesitation, he vanished into the bushes.
After a while, the group of people around the girl skirted the lake, continuing their mad dash forward.
Chu Mo, on the other hand, headed towards the group of pursuers.
At this time, the jade on his body suddenly heated up. Although it wasn't too hot, it was an unmistakable signal for Chu Mo!
Among those pursuers, there was something that this jade desired!
Originally, Chu Mo had no intention of letting this group of people go. Causing trouble for Great Qi was tantamount to helping his own nation.
Although he was not a soldier, he was raised in a military family!
Even though he still felt somewhat uncomfortable about killing, at least... Chu Mo had realized the truth that only those who face life and death could understand.
"This, too, is a battlefield!"
"Here, there is only life and death, no mercy."
Chu Mo's target was the man who severed Germu's head. His strength was obviously extraordinary.
The ones dispatched by Great Qi to this place for the mission were clearly not ordinary people. At the very least, they were probably all elite soldiers.
For one to be able to leap off a high-speed galloping horse, kill a man with one sword, and land casually back on his horse... it was a skill not everyone could possess.
Given this man's skills, he was probably at least a lieutenant rank in the military.
"For each soldier like this we kill, Great Qi will deeply mourn."
"And my actions today could, at a minimum, cause some trouble for Great Qi's conquest of the prairie. Even... it's possible that it might be an incredible annoyance!"
"If that's the case, it would be the best!"
Chu Mo's eyes sparkled. His grandfather raised him in the military since he was a child and provided him with various training. He hadn't seen too much bloodshed only because he was too young and there wasn't much warfare.
Now, Chu Mo had found himself on this path.
"Regardless of who my parents are, at this moment, I am an undeniable citizen of Great Xia!"
"To be able to contribute to my nation is my greatest honor and pride."
Chu Mo encouraged himself in his heart. Meanwhile, the man had ridden closer, only about thirty feet away.
Perhaps, he was preoccupied due to having killed a man, or perhaps his focus was all on the group of people in front. This man seemed to have overlooked the potential danger beside him.
Now is the time!
"Kill!"
Chu Mo roared in rage within his heart, leaped into the air from the grass, his elixir field filled with overwhelming primordial force, instantly streaming through all the veins in his body. With one ferocious swing of his blade, he aimed at the man on horseback.
"Ah!"
The man let out a cry of surprise, his eyes flashed with terror. He did not expect someone to be hiding here!
And that person even dared to attack him!
In a hurry, the man's blade didn't even have time to be unsheathed, his body darting to the side in an attempt to dodge Chu Mo's attack.
But how could Chu Mo, who had planned his attack, allow him to evade when their levels of skill didn't differ significantly?
And this slash was the strongest sword move Chu Mo had comprehended so far.
Once this blade came down, it was unstoppable!
Like a thunderbolt!
Impossible to dodge!
The man hurriedly used his sword, still in its sheath, attempting to block Chu Mo's attack.
However, to his surprise, this thunderbolt-like blade skilfully evaded his unsheathed blade and landed a severe slash on the man's shoulder at an unthinkable angle.
Click!
The razor-sharp edge of the blade cut through the man's scapula like a hot knife cutting through butter... Chu Mo felt no resistance whatsoever!
He sliced the man into two halves. Blood spurted in an instant, the man, severed into two, fell from the horse with wide eyes, full of incredulity and horror.
By this time, Chu Mo had already rushed towards the next person!
All these happened so fast that in the blink of an eye, the strongest among the group had been slain by Chu Mo.
The rest were still dazed, not yet understanding what had just happened. They were supposed to be pursuing the princess of the royal court, how could such a terrifying boy appear out of nowhere?
Thud!
As the head of the second person was chopped off by Chu Mo's blade, and the splattering blood finally awakened the group. They cried out in horror, "Enemy attack!"
"Enemy attack!"
"The emissary of Great Qi has been killed!"
"Quick, seize him!"
Seeing all this, Gerzha, who was initially trailing behind due to collecting his brother's body, was stunned. He stood there, his body quivering in despair, he shouted in desperation, "Catch that kid! Never let him escape! He killed the emissary of Great Qi!"
At this moment, Chu Mo had brought down the third rider from horseback and was heading towards the fourth.
The frail-looking teenager, in that instant, seemed to have transformed into a fearsome God of death. His killing streak chilled the group to the bone, they could hardly believe their own eyes.
When did such a terrifying teenager appear on the Prairie?
Could he be the secret weapon of Nayi?
The group led by Nayi who had escaped quite a distance were also puzzled.
"Where did this powerful young man come from?"
Hearing the fighting noises from behind, the group couldn't help but stop. Although they were eager to flee, they couldn't ignore the one who saved their lives, as it was not the Prairie people's style.
Nayi ordered the people around her, "Quick, go and help him! This guy, I want him!"
"Princess… You should go first, we will bring that youth here!" said one of her close guards.
"No, this youth is so strong, he must be able to help us. I want to invite him personally!" Nayi said resolutely from atop her horse. The little boy in her arms stared in the direction of Chu Mo, his large black eyes filled with curiosity.
"It's too dangerous, princess!" The close guard tried to dissuade her.
A bitter smile crossed Nayi's pure and beautiful face, "When are we not in danger right now? The emissary of Great Qi has already been killed by that youth, the rest… are our Prairie people. Are you afraid of Gerzha?"
The several close guards nearby instantly showed a look of anger, and simultaneously said, "Are we afraid of that traitor?"
"That's good..." Nayi looked at the little boy in her arms and asked, "Little brother, are you scared?"
The little boy's voice was childish, but he spoke firmly, "I am the prince of the royal court, I'm not afraid!"
"Good little brother!" Nayi shouted out, "Follow me and charge back!"
"Kill!" These men of the Prairie, who had been vexed by the pursuing troops, would have already engaged them in a life and death battle if it wasn't for the task of protecting the princess.
Seeing the princess take the lead to charge back, how could they hesitate? They immediately cried out and rushed towards the cavalry who were already chilled to the bone by Chu Mo's killings.

Two things, first, I have an interview from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight, you guys can participate if you have time. There will be questions about the new book and myself, feel free to ask questions face to face.
The second thing is, of course, asking for votes! Many friends who read books on mobile phones may only look at the number of chapter updates and do not notice the word count. Every chapter of ours is at least above 3000 words.
If I chose to make each chapter around 2000 words, I could easily split them into three chapters a day.
But for the integrity of the plot, each of our chapters is full and complete! So, I have not been slacking off. Give me your vote!
