CHAPTER 297: CHAPTER 296-CONNECTIONS.

Time seemingly ticked by at a slow pace as Azrail sat facing Seraphel. The deal made here today would perhaps change everything for the future of Oblivion’s Embrace; it would be the first cornerstone in true power that Azrail shall finally be able to get his hands on, and Seraphel would be the first step to achieve that.

Thus, Azrail sat in silence as his mind played through the different plans he had in mind. Seraphel had more of a unique power control within the elders; she seemingly influenced a bit over them; thus, her help would go a long way in how much Azrail would be able to inject into this organisation.

Azrail already had in his hands the gathered, now still being trained army all around, by the gift of Nylan, and the best among them could be injected here, forming the first true basis of power Azrail would be able to use. With her influence, he would be able to get his players into some powerful positions of influence and backing.

"What will be the deal here?"

Suddenly, Seraphel asked, making Azrail look at her.

’Guess she took the bait.’

With that thought making him smile, he replied,

"Your support to me for the chance to kill Thanatos, simple as that."

"My full support, you mean?"

Seraphel added, making Azrail chuckle at the question as he replied,

"You know how it can be. I need to build a full-proof connection and establishment here before the real ones show up, and with you fully backing me, seemingly as if giving me your loyalty, then I will finally be able to make some big moves here."

Seraphel didn’t immediately reply. After a moment of thought, she spoke,

"How will we arrange this deal? For even after that bastard is dead, I have no desire to let go of my position."

’And there it is, the greed of the powerful.’

And that is what Azrail is betting on—that he can grow.

"I don’t mind you still holding power. Let me guess, you would have full autonomy and control to still reign within yourself, right?"

"Yes, and that would mean a chance for me to break through and start something of my own."

’And there it is, the problem.’

Azrail knew each of those eleven heads of the factions was just bracing to get their own factions and more power, but they were bound and connected to Thanatos, never being able to leave him. If Thanatos were to suffer real death, then everyone would either go forth to take the power gap, or they would break down into different parts of power that would try to rule on their own.

’Which I can’t have happening. I need them to be fully under my control, and the plan for it is already in place, starting from her.’

As Azrail thought of this, he looked at Seraphel as he replied,

"I won’t mind that, but I can’t make the promises on it, because there lies an entirely different reason for you being under control like that, and even then, the real successor who completes all the rites will be passed on the seal that commands you all to him. Unless that is fully destroyed, you shall never be fully free."

His words being the truth, and Seraphel already knew it, as her expression didn’t change a bit from the reply—only her gaze peering into him, as if trying to suck in all the secrets that Azrail hides behind the darkness of his cloak.

"Fine, I can accept those terms, but before we put in a real contract, I would need some time to fully think everything over."

Azrail nodded his head at Seraphel’s words as he replied,

"Of course, that would be no problem at all."

"Good, then I will have one of my youngest disciples show you around; she will give you a more in-depth understanding of everything."

"Sure, it’s fine."

With that, a moment later, someone appeared in the room—a woman who looked to be in her twenties, she having dark blue hair that seemed to mix into the black, her whole body covered by a dark cloak, while on her face was a mask made out of bones forming a special skull shape, one eerily looking with the bone shining with the color black, its depth of color washing everything with darkness.

Two black eyes that seemed to suck the soul away could be seen from the mask. The moment she appeared, she bowed towards Seraphel.

"Master."

She spoke with the respectful touch, though her voice itself sounded too sweet to be true, as if the voice was beyond any comprehension, as if just a single request from that voice would make you do things you would never normally want to do.

"Take him and show him around our faction and teach him more about our practices."

The woman moved her head to look at Azrail as she replied,

"Lyx meets the young successor."

Azrail replied back,

"The name is DeathMark, nice to meet you, and please, you can just call me that."

Lyx shook her head as she replied,

"I can’t do that; the young successor requires at least this level of respect."

Her voice was even more charming and addictive the more she spoke, to which Azrail, understanding it, looked towards Seraphel, who spoke,

"She will take good care of you, and let’s have a fun chat later."

And with that, Seraphel disappeared from the room, leaving Azrail with Lyx—she seemingly checking him out as Lyx spoke,

"Shall I guide you towards the inner sanction of the SoulWhisperer faction?"

"Please do."

Azrail replied, and soon the two of them also left the room, their bodies being transported and arriving within another room. This was looking rich as always, with a touch of a different style. Azrail turned to the side to see Lyx standing near him as she spoke,

"I thought we might have a drink first in here, where I give the more normal breakdown, after which we can head for a more visual gazing."

’She wants to build up connections first.’

Azrail understood the basics of all that as he replied,

"Sure, let’s get to it."

As he said so, soon two maids, whose looks could stun any man out of his wits, walked into the room as they took seats—their sheer beauty suffocating the place, their bodies the pure representation of sin that could make any man lose their mind. Their dress was formal and covering, but even then, somehow looked even more sexy on them.

’She is definitely testing me.’

Azrail mused as he watched the two maids who screamed beauty and grace walk towards them and start setting up the tea. Azrail’s head then focused back on Lyx, who spoke,

"They are quite the special ones. Do you want them?"

As she asked this question, Azrail could pick up on certain changes happening to the maids, but for now, he focused on this woman Lyx, who would perhaps be one of the more sly ones he would have to deal with—someone he would have to be careful with—as he replied,

"No thanks, they seem like good maids, but for now, I have other things I would like to focus on."

His words made Lyx shake her head as she replied,

"It’s a shame; they belong to a species said to give such pleasure that it drives many men to even hunt them down."

"I would prefer to just focus on my cultivation for now."

Azrail’s reply was a more controlled one as the maids quickly arranged all the tea, the warm, fuzzy smell covering all over the room. They soon stood behind Lyx after their work, who just waved her hand, after which they left through the door they came through. Azrail focused on the tea as he took it up and took a taste.

A unique scent fills his nose, making his mind relax, and the subtle taste of wonders fills his tongue. In the calm of it all, Azrail slowly kept taking light sips, Lyx doing the same.
