Heavenly Opposers
Chapter 318 - 317-What Is So Special?
CHAPTER 318: CHAPTER 317-WHAT IS SO SPECIAL?
’Guess they are doing well.’
Azrail thought as he looked at the constantly moving piece in front of him, his eyes narrowing as he gazed at the changes of the past he knew taking place in real time, a smile coming to his face as Azrail came to understand just how much power he is holding right now, the members of the Heavenly Opposers at his mercy to use.
’Though thanks to the Heavenly Tree’s protection, they remain safe from constant death.’
A small irritation built up in Azrail at that thought. A lot of the children who were supposed to burn bright had been ruthlessly killed and ruined thanks to the work of the ’Heavenly Court,’ as one might say. Thus came an excess amount of luck and guilt toward the heavenly law, which used it to protect the new ones and even gave them more than they are normally supposed to have.
’Thus came the birth of monsters no one can even hope to understand.’
While others survived and thrived under protection, which led to their own growth, many others lived in the dirt like dogs and survived with barely anything to their name, just like Azrail did. He still remembers all the tortures he went through, the sadness and the losses. Can the life he is experiencing right now be said to be a gift for all his past blessings?
’That is also not true.’
Azrail could feel it; the reason he survives right now is due to the blessing under the hands of Death. Sure, he was indeed supposed to live the ’glory’ life like the rest of the Heavenly Opposers when he was brought back here, but that luck came from a very dangerous place, from dangerous things that were controlling him.
Azrail still has the cube with him, the one that was controlling his thoughts and actions. If it wasn’t for the sudden awakening, he would have been the puppet of whatever it was using him all the time. Right now, he thrives under the protection of Death, a gift from a being that felt a sense of kinship with him, who has lived through deaths and still hasn’t fallen to the abyss of despair.
But how long can a mere mortal keep the interest of a being that has seen far beyond anything anyone can imagine?
’I won’t keep living with their belief that I will always be safe.’
If Azrail fell to those thoughts, it wouldn’t be long before he would become just a useless piece in the game. Azrail moves with the intention that he will one day have to face the ones who wanted to control him, and when that day comes, Azrail will be prepared to rip those beings into pieces and put forth in them all the pain and suffering he has gone through.
’The eye of the beholder.’
Azrail’s eyes flashed with a ruthless light as those thoughts went through his mind, his mind playing through the thoughts he kept pushing to himself from before. He went through the different motions of power and control, after which his eyes once again fell on the important ones, the members that would join the Heavenly Opposers from his realm, at least this bottom one.
’My realm is far more special than others can imagine.’
Azrail mused, secrets that only he knew, secrets that would blow the mind of anyone that knew, kept running through him, the reasons for why monsters had risen from this realm, the reason for why monstrous heroes had risen from this realm, the reason why even he, the useless, had clawed his way against the heavens to reach the top as an ant.
’The beginning came from here.’
A glint in Azrail’s eyes at those thoughts, a smirk of acknowledgement. Being born in such a low realm isn’t seen as a gift by many. Why can’t we all be born in the higher realms, blessed by cultivation and foundation at birth?
The place where true Qi and true power flow through, why can’t we all be born there? The thoughts held by jealousy in many hearts, evolution needs to be met to grow, while for the others, though random, they still hit. But even with that, to the ones below, the ones born above all seem lucky.
’And they are true indeed.’
Azrail, moving through the filth of this world, had seen with his own eyes how everything happened, how cruel the intentions of the heavens are. But within the book he read, Azrail found out the more hidden truth of his own bottom realm, the reason why so many gifts are found here, why so many legacies are left here, why this place seems to be special in a certain sense.
’Each Heavenly Opposer came from the bottom.’
To protect their identities and to give the realms the chance to grow, they all came from the bottom of places, gaining several unseen gifts that cannot be touched. Rare ones were also born into powerful families too, hidden away in there, where they lorded over as kings until they saw the truth for them all to grow.
Everything came together in the end, but what Azrail really needs is this lower realm of his, his birthplace, to be fully under his control, for the many reasons of wanting power.
’Ten members came from here.’
Azrail’s eyes flashed with that thought, and even deeper into that is the fact that the main ’MC,’ the one supposed to lead the Heavenly Opposers, also came from his realm!
Huge news that would have made every power-hungry person, if they had learned about it, realise that there would be something special or different about this place. And that wasn’t even the deeper fault; the main villain, the one that sided with the other side, the one that matched the talent of the ’MC’ to fight against him, also came from this very realm!
Yes, other members all came from different realms, even with their own monstrous talents, but Azrail’s realm still has the highest amount of members that came, not to mention they formed the backbone of the Heavenly Opposers!
These members from here never met each other; they grew, took on their own battles, fought through their own worth to reach the top, and when hunted in unison, did they all come together, their exchange leading to the fact that they all came from the same place!
A connection that formed the foundation on which the growth came later. Valencia, not being counted among the ten, as her true realm didn’t start from here, but one still has to take into account that she did also spend some time here too, which was also important toward the future that Azrail knew.
’This is the main thing.’
Azrail thought as his eyes narrowed on the projection of eleven dots in front of him, the ten of them being marked with a special golden spark, while the last one being marked with a tint of gold and red, these being the ones that will lead the cosmos in the future, young seeds that at a young age will break barriers and powers the old has never had and shine forth better than anyone or anything.
’Have to say, I did root for the villain.’
Azrail laughed at the thought. Being one of evil himself, Azrail understood the interactions, though in this guy’s case, he was a born psycho. His mental killing was kept in check by his medical grandpa, who, having seen the potential of pure chaos and death, had tried to lock it away, but as time passed, the truth kept leaking out.
’His first kill broke it all.’
Some would say taking him in now would be useful, but Azrail says that it would be a failure of a situation. The man is dominant and only does what he wants; he will never work under another. Hidden away, he will do all in his power to become the top; it’s an inner drive in his soul that can’t be changed. It will be more like inviting a poisonous snake into your home; a bite in the back is sure.
’I can’t even kill him, too.’
The extreme luck and the heavenly protection period haven’t ended, which means if I make a move, he will be protected, not to mention he has that...
The thought of that item made Azrail shake himself, even though he felt immense greed to get that item in his hand. With it, there will be nothing in his way that will stop him from reaching absolute power.
’The lost relic of talent.’
Something of immense ability used and built by the first humans that led the change to become powerful in the cosmos, the item that had led to the growth and power of humankind, a relic many thought to be a legend and many thought to be too powerful to ever exist.
’And that landed in the hand of the main villain.’
Azrail shook his head at that thought. What’s frightening is, even when the main villain had it, the main ’MC’ still grew to match him.
’Another disgusting monster, though the same can be said for me now.’
