Hell Game: Starting from the Metropolis
Chapter 17: Everyone Here’s a Villain
Before long, Liu Zheng arrived at his destination.
Green Osmanthus Garden, Crazy City.
It was a fairly large residential complex, estimated to have about sixty or seventy buildings.
Perhaps because his perception had been enhanced, he could finally see clearly inside the community from outside.
The exterior of the buildings looked relatively new, but the walls and ground were covered with smooth green vine-like plants, giving off a somewhat unsettling vibe.
“Rationality decline immunity succeeded.”
The system notification appeared again.
“Losing rationality again? That’s a bit ridiculous, isn’t it?”
Liu Zheng was somewhat dissatisfied.
If it weren’t for the Legendary Deliveryman’s Vest, those two previous drops in rationality would probably have caused him to temporarily go crazy again.
However, without the attribute boosts from the vest, he wouldn’t even be able to see inside the complex.
In this strange world, having too high attributes wasn’t necessarily a good thing.
He recalled the first time he delivered the Aberrant-eyed Salmon Head Pizza; after eating it, there seemed to be a chance to gain the “Spiritual Vision” status.
He wondered what this world would look like under the “Spiritual Vision” state.
Putting away these dangerous thoughts, Liu Zheng approached the community guard booth.
The facilities in Green Osmanthus Garden were obviously inferior to Heavenly Villa. Inside the guard booth, there was only one security guard, whose appearance and aura were much worse.
However, it was still slightly better than Merlin Residential Area; at least this guard looked human.
“Stop! What are you doing here?”
The salt-and-pepper-haired security guard shouted.
“Delivery.”
Liu Zheng pointed to the vest on his body.
The vest’s style was the same as the restaurant’s uniform, only differing in color.
“Where are you delivering to?”
“Building 4, Room 606.”
He replied.
“There’s no Building 4 here. You’re at the wrong place.”
The guard waved his hand dismissively.
“Isn’t this Green Osmanthus Garden, Crazy City?”
Liu Zheng asked suspiciously.
“It is Green Osmanthus Garden, Crazy City, but our community doesn’t have a Building 4.”
The guard was certain.
Liu Zheng gave the guard a glance, then dialed a phone number.
“Boss, could the address on the order be wrong?” Liu Zheng asked.
“Did you trade with that tree?”
Bullhorse didn’t answer immediately but instead asked about something else.
“Yes, I did.”
“What did you exchange for?”
Bullhorse asked, quite interested.
“I already answered one question for you.”
Liu Zheng didn’t satisfy his curiosity again.
“Tch, you’re no longer human, so unsociable. The address isn’t wrong, but it might not be expressed in a normal way.”
Bullhorse said.
“I see.”
Liu Zheng seemed to have understood.
“Hurry up and say, what did you exchange for?”
Bullhorse urged.
“The Legendary Deliveryman’s Vest.”
“Holy crap! You’re unbelievably lucky.”
Bullhorse exclaimed, his tone full of envy and jealousy.
“Boss, I’ll deliver the meal first and tell you all about it when I get back.”
Liu Zheng hung up and then walked into the complex.
“What are you doing?”
The guard came out of the booth and blocked him.
“I’m going in to look for it myself.”
He said.
“Don’t you understand human language? I told you there’s no Building 4. This is a high-end community; outsiders aren’t allowed in without permission.”
The guard said impatiently.
“Unless?”
Liu Zheng offered.
“Unless you give me a pack of cigarettes, or—” The guard eyed him hungrily, “—I see you’ve got quite a bit of meat on you. You could give me a bite or two instead.”
“Heh.”
The familiar extortion ritual. The security guards in this world really were all villains.
Cigarettes? Liu Zheng had already finished smoking with Bullhorse.
Meat? He definitely had some now.
But none of it was extra.
When you’re human, you have to pay tribute; when you’re not human, you still have to pay tribute. Otherwise, wouldn’t his mutation be for nothing?
“Come on, let’s take a photo together.”
Liu Zheng stretched out a tentacle and put it on the guard’s shoulder.
“What are you doing?”
The guard asked uncomfortably.
“Oh, nothing. Last time I forgot to take a photo and killed someone, so there was no comparison. I can’t forget again this time.”
He smiled and then pressed the photo button with another tentacle.

The shutter sound rang out, and the screen displayed a gloomy-faced guard and a cheerful, sunny young man. Get full chapters from novel·fire.net
“Are you threatening me?”
The guard grumbled.
“Thinking that way means you must have suffered a lot, huh?”
Liu Zheng looked at him sympathetically and then swiped through the photo album.
“Come on, smile more; the world will be a better place. See, he’s smiling beautifully.”
On the screen were stacked corpses.
The topmost corpse had a bloodied smile blooming on its face.
“Recognize the uniforms they’re wearing?”
He whispered into the guard’s ear.
“Y-yeah, I recognize them.”
The guard swallowed nervously.
“You only make a few bucks a month; why bother risking your life like the guards at Heavenly Villa?”
Liu Zheng said gently.
“Don’t scare me. Your method works on them, but it doesn’t work on me.”
The guard’s eyes flickered, and his tone became firm again.
“Oh yeah?”
Suddenly, Liu Zheng’s third tentacle curled into a fist and slammed hard into the guard’s ribs.
“Ah!”
The guard screamed in pain, curling up like a boiled crayfish.
Just as Liu Zheng was about to press the attack, the guard’s hair suddenly swelled and exploded outward.
Steel-needle-like strands pierced Liu Zheng’s body, skewering him through and through.
A stinging pain radiated all over Liu Zheng’s body, and more terrifyingly, he felt something inside himself being sucked away by those hairs.
“So many tricks.”
He lowered his head and bit down on the hair with his razor-sharp mouthparts stretched to their limit.
Though incredibly tough, they were only appetizers before the legendary bite strength reinforced by the Legendary Deliveryman’s Vest.
The broken hairs snapped with a sound like a rubber band, and with every strand broken, the guard’s complexion grew paler.
“No!”
He violently shook his head, retracting his hair, then leapt far away.
“You’re just a human, how can you bite through my hair?”
The guard shouted in horror.
“Want to know? Give me some meat, and I’ll tell you.”
Liu Zheng extended his long tongue and licked his teeth.
The pierced wounds on his body had already healed, and even the bloodstains on his skin were reabsorbed.
“Hmph, not impossible. Come in, then.”
The guard went back inside the booth and beckoned to him.
“No need, I’ll deliver the meal first.”
Liu Zheng looked at the open booth door.
“Don’t you want to know where Building 4 is?”
The guard quickly asked.
“I should be able to find it myself.”
He said confidently.
“The owner of Room 606 is a lunatic. Don’t you want to know about him?”
The guard added.
“Oh? Tell me.”
Liu Zheng showed interest and walked toward the booth.
“That idiot, last time I kindly greeted him, and he said I interrupted his inspiration. He cursed me out and threatened to report me.”
The guard said angrily.
“Inspiration?”
He caught the keyword.
“You don’t know? That guy’s a novelist. I heard...”
The guard suddenly stopped talking.
“Heard what?”
Liu Zheng pressed.
“Come in and talk; there are cameras outside recording us.”
The guard pointed to the surveillance camera above the community gate.
“Fine.”
Liu Zheng took several big strides, then stepped on the edge of the booth entrance.
“You really want me to go inside, don’t you?”
He looked at the guard with a half-smile.
The guard’s expression darkened even further.
“Next time you lie, remember to manage your facial expressions. Have confidence; don’t be like those internet celebrities.”
“And once you’re in, don’t come back out. If I see you wandering around outside later, I’ll kill you.”
Liu Zheng kindly warned him, then slammed the booth door shut.
Leaving behind the guard’s changing expression, he strode into the complex.
