Hero Sensei: My students are fighting monsters, aliens, and mysterious organizations~
Chapter 5
The place was a scrapyard surrounded by a high wall, a bit far from the residential area. It was off-limits to everyone except authorized personnel, but I managed to jump over the wall and get inside.Normally, there wouldn''t be a need to chase a wild boar this far. However, the number of creatures being detected by my magic detection was rapidly increasing, and they were clearly not wild animals.
Using the 『Stealth』 skill to hide my presence, I walked between the piles of scraps to get closer. The sun had already set, and only the faint light from a street lamp outside the fence illuminated the area. However, my night vision skill made the junkyard appear as if it were daytime.
“What is that… Roper?”
A “Roper” is a sea anemone-like monster in that world, specializing in entangling prey with long tentacles, which can be troublesome if you''re not used to them.
The group of about ten in front of me resembled Ropers, with bodies about the size of a drum and countless tentacles sprouting from the top.
I had never heard of such creatures in Japan, or rather on Earth. It couldn’t be helped—
"Analyze."
Abyssal Beast Type D
An abyssal beast that preys on living creatures with its countless tentacles.
After consuming a certain amount of food, it splits and increases in number, eradicating all life in the area.
Characteristics: Impact resistance, Water resistance
Skills: Tentacle Strike, Tentacle Binding, Paralyzing Poison
“Analyze” is a magic I created, referring to the Akashic Records, which are believed to be a collection of information that exists somewhere in the world. However, people in “that world” cannot understand it, and for some reason, it cannot be used on humans. It’s just a half-baked magic made by an amateur.
I had never heard of an “abyssal beast” before. From the description, it sounded like a Roper-like monster, and it seemed problematic to leave it alone.
I activated “magic space,” stuck my arm into the gaping black hole in front of me, and pulled out the object I sought: a long sword made of mithril, a fairly rare item I used in "that world."
“Well, let''s see what it''s like.”
Using [Flash], I approached one of the creatures and cut the “abyssal beast” in half with my long sword. The severed piece dissolved into the ground with a strange sound, leaving behind a shiny black orb.
“Eh, weak…”
It wasn’t as tough to slice as I had thought. It was also disappointing that it disappeared after being cut in half. A roper can still move even when cut in half. I picked up the black bead left behind by the abyssal beast.
Droplets of the Abyss
A stone containing condensed abyssal energy.
It is the catalyst for summoning abyssal beasts.
The concept of “summoning” intrigued me. There were “summoners” in “that world,” but does that mean there are also “summoners” in this world?
As I pondered, perhaps because one of the creatures had been defeated, the remaining abyssal beasts seemed to be preparing for battle. About ten tentacled drums all at once came at me. I moved at high speed, cutting down most of them in a matter of seconds. I didn’t destroy them all because I sensed a new reaction—clearly human, with special powers. The speed of approach was unusually fast, likely connected to these “abyssal beasts.”
I maximized my stealth skill and quickly hid behind the scrap wood. A figure appeared from the darkness: a woman with long flowing hair, probably a young girl.
She was wearing what looked like a Japanese sword on her waist.
“There aren’t many of them…? The stones on the ground mean someone killed them? Or maybe they’re cannibalizing each other? I’ll have to ask Master about it later.”
The voice sounded familiar. No, I recognized that blazer and face. Standing in the darkness was a student from class 2-1 at Meiran Academy, where I am the assistant teacher. Her name was “Misono Aookuji.”
Aookuji is a beautiful girl with long black hair down to her waist, serious and well-mannered, with the air of a class president. Although a student, her piercing eyes beneath her long bangs erased the aura of an honor student, making her stand out.
“I’ll have to take them down anyway,” she said, drawing the sword at her waist. Even from a distance, it was clear this was a sword with special powers, likely a holy sword.
Aookuji took an upper stance, then approached the Abyssal Beast with a movement similar to a Flash skill, slashing it across. However, a single blow wasn’t enough to cut it in two, and she maintained a distance to dodge the tentacle’s counterattack, likely avoiding the paralyzing poison. She approached again and, with a second strike, annihilated the Abyssal Beast.
She quickly defeated the three Abyssal Beasts, sheathed her sword, and began picking up the stones—“Drops of the Abyss.” S?a??h the ?0velF?re.n?t website on G??gl? to access chapters of n?vels early and in the highest quality.
She’s quite strong. As an adventurer, her abilities are probably above average. If trained as an attacker, she could be a valuable asset... but what in the world just happened?
This is Japan, not "that world." Monsters appear, and high school girls defeat them.
While I was racking my brain, Aookuji finished collecting the stones and left without giving me a chance to talk to her.
Wait, what should I do as a teacher about this?
