bChapter /bb392 /b
Tuff froze. For a moment, he waspletely stunned.
‘Did I really get her pregnant that night?‘ Tuff couldn’t help but doubt himself.
‘No way. I was way too drunk to do anything. And when I realized something was off, my clothes bwere /bstill bon/b, he thought.
‘Besides, I even called the cops myself!‘ Tuff reminded himself.
‘Wait a minute!‘ Tuff suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, his whole body tensing up.
Joyce is a doctor. Even if I wasn’t able to perform that night, she could’ve still found a way to get my sperm and used artificial insemination or something… Tuff’s mind spun with wild possibilities.
Shit! My whole reputation is going down the drain!‘ he panicked.

‘I’m totally innocent, but now everyone’s going to think I’m guilty!‘ Tuff fumed, feelingpletely wronged.
He didn’t even need Ka to blow up. He couldn’t ept this oue himself. Tuff felt utterly defeated. “Tuff…” Maggie saw the look on her son’s face and quickly reached out, holding onto him tightly.
A smug glint shed in Joyce’s tear–filled eyes.
‘Thank God I nned ahead!‘ she thought, feeling a wave of relief wash over her.
As long as Tuff gave in, everything else was easy. But this baby? No way she was keeping it.
‘What if Tuff suddenly wants another DNA test one day?‘ she fretted, anxiety gnawing at her.
“Doctor…” Joyce blinked rapidly, trying to signal the doctor to hurry up and take her for the procedure:
But the new attending doctor said, “Ms. Lambert, there’s no need to worry. You’re not going to be having an abortion.”
“What?” Joyce waspletely stunned.
‘Didn’t we agree on this?‘ she thought, panic rising in her chest.
“Ms. Lambert, you’re in great shape, and the baby is tough too! We’ll wait and see if there’s any bleeding,” the doctor said, giving Joyce a reassuring pat. “I’ve already given you a sedative. Just sleep it off, you’ll be fine.”
Joyce was shocked.
The sedative hit fast, and Joyce felt her strength draining away. She shot her parents a desperate look, begging for help.
‘Dad, Mom, I can’t have this baby! Hurry, get me out of here. Take me to get an abortion!‘ she pleaded

inwardly, panic written all over her face.
But her parents had no idea what she really wanted.
Since the doctor said there was no risk of miscarriage, they feltpletely at ease.
Once the baby was born, Tuff would have to take care of Joyce’s future, and the Lambert family could cling to the Prescott family and live off them for the rest of their lives.
“This is the Prescott family’s child. The Prescotts have no choice but to ept it! they thought, feeling triumphant.
The doctor gave Tuff a gentle, almost fatherly smile. “Mr. Prescott…”
Tuff was startled, shouting, “It’s not mine!”
“Tuff, what are you doing?” Maggie clung to him, refusing to let go. “It’s toote for regrets. Just go along with it! I’ll talk to Ka and smooth things over…”
“Talk about what? I don’t owe anyone an exnation!” Tuff shot back, clearly pissed.
“Joyce said she’ll take care of the kid herself, and she won’t bother us or anything…” Maggie tried to calm him down.
“That’s the dumbest excuse I’ve ever heard!” Tuff snapped, his eyes zing with fury.
Tuff’s eyes zed with rage. He looked downright terrifying.
Joyce’s parents both moved to block her bed, making sure Tuff couldn’t get close enough toy a hand on her.
“Maggie, which hospital did you get this report from?” Ka walked in, a littlete but with unmistakable authority.
She wore a tailored suit, her long hair swept up in a bun, making her lookmanding and gorgeous.
Maggie looked miserable and whispered, “I had my suspicions too, so I secretly went to see an obstetrician…”
“Is it her?” Ka asked.
Ka stepped aside, and Aaron hauled a doctor in a white coat up to the front.
Maggie’s eyes went wide in shock. “Dr. Walsh?”
“Mrs. Prescott, I’m so sorry!” Ondo Walsh stammered, his whole body shaking. “The report I gave you waspletely fake…”
Maggie felt like she’d been struck by lightning.
“I never actually ran any DNA test. Ms. Lambert told me to forge the whole thing…” Ondo confessed, voice trembling.

‘So the whole report was a fake? I nearly wanted to end it all for nothing!‘ he thought, a wave bof /bbrelief /bcrashing over himb. /b
“Honey…” Tuff walked over to Ka, his eyes red and on the verge of tears.
He actually felt like crying this time.

If Ka hadn’t seen through everything, Joyce would’ve totally set him up and ruined him.
He’d already pictured Ka’s furious face a hundred times in his mind, each time backing himself into a corner with no way out, convinced she’d never forgive him.
“You’re such a dummy,” Ka said with a fond smile, pulling Tuff into a hug.
He got framed and was not even able to clear his name. No wonder Tuff was losing it.
Joyce had been sedated, but her mind was still sharp as a tack. She caught every word around her, clear bas /bday.
When Ka first walked in, Joyce was actually pretty happy.
But the moment Ondo showed up, Joyce knew that her n hadpletely fallen apart.
‘How the hell did Ka even find Ondo? She didn’t even know about the fake report! How did everything go so wrong?‘ Joyce thought, her mind racing with panic.
“Curious, aren’t you, Joyce?” Ka said, letting go of Tuff and striding right up to her.
Her high heels echoed through the room, each step crisp and sharp.
Every sound was like a drumbeat, striking at Joyce’s nerves.
She tensed up, but she couldn’t move or say a word.
Finally, it hit her that this wasn’t just any sedative. She’d been drugged.
“That attending doctor is shady! I’ve been drugged!‘ Joyce realized with a jolt, panic and fury mixing in her mind.
“Who are you? Stay away from my daughter. She’s not well, she’s sedated,” Brylee said, stepping protectively in front of Ka, her guard up.
Ka replied, “I’m Ka Kingsley, Tuff’swfully wedded wife.”
Xzavier just snorted and turned his head away, not saying a word.
Brylee demanded, “What are you trying to do?”
“Why don’t you tell me what you think I’m here for?” Ka shot back, her voice cool and challenging.

bMaggie /bwas way too embarrassed bto /bstep in.

Every time she called out, nobody answered. The whole room was dead silent.
“Rxb. /bI’m not really the type to throw punches,” Ka said, a hint of sarcasm curling her lips.
But just as Brylee let her guard down, Ka’s smile sharpened. “Of course, if you really piss me off, I might bjust /bmake you disappear.”
“You wouldn’t dare!” Brylee shrieked, her voice high–pitched with panic.
Xzavier shot up too, ring at Ka with all the intensity he could muster.
It was like he thought if he stared hard enough, he’d suddenly turn into some kind of tough guy.
Tuff just shook his head, at aplete loss for words.
‘Dominick, are your sister and parents really like this?‘ Tuff thought, feeling a wave of disbelief and disappointment.
“There’s nothing I wouldn’t dare,” Ka said, her voice icy. “Joyce, I know you can hear me. So, can you guess how I found out about your secret hookup and the fake DNA report you tried to fool Maggie with?”
Joyce couldn’t utter a sound, but she was burning with curiosity.
‘Why? Why?‘ she screamed inwardly.
‘Does Ka have some kind of superpower? This is Lunova, not the Kingsleys‘ turf!‘ Joyce thought, panic rising. ‘How the hell did she pull this off here?‘
“I’ve actually had spy training,” Ka revealed, dropping a bombshell that left everyone reeling.
But it was Maggie who looked the most shaken, her face going pale.
‘No way… Ka was trained as a spy?‘ Maggie thought, her mind spinning.
She hurried over and whispered urgently, “Don’t talk nonsense. This isn’t something to joke about!”
“That’s why I’m pretty good at both spying and counter–spying,” Ka added, her tone casual but deadly serious.
Joyce felt her blood run cold.
She had no doubt Ka was telling the truth.
She was utterly crushed–defeated in every way.
b19:05 /bbTue/bb, /bbSep /bb9 /b
Ka had seen right through her from the start, but instead of confronting her, she’d just led her baround/b.
No, it wasn’t just like that.
Ka really was ying her for a fool.
Joyce was that pitiful, self–important fool who thought she was so clever….
“Oh, right, you can’t talk right now. Doctor, could you please give her the antidote?” Ka said with ba /bcasual, almost indifferent smile, like nothing could faze her.
The attending doctor, who’d been watching intently, took out an ampoule and mixed it into Joyce’s IV drip.
Soon enough, Joyce could move again.
She opened her eyes and looked at Ka, utterly desperate.
Everyone in the room was silent. Even her own parents didn’t know what to say.
Tears brimmed in Joyce’s eyes as she forced her lips to move, her voice hoarse and trembling. “Why? Why are you doing this to me?”
