CHAPTER 67: CHAPTER 67: BREWING TEA WITH TEA (NEW)
Selina Hughes moved her lips, forcing a stiff smile that didn’t reach her eyes, "If Talia enjoys it, that’s all that matters."
"Oh come on, don’t call her ’sister,’ call her ’sister-in-law’!" Yvonne Coleman said cheerfully, "You should start calling her that."
Selina Hughes opened her mouth, her face tense, "I can’t change it that quickly."
"Adrian, try the beef rolls I just grilled." Talia fed a slice of beef roll to Adrian Jennings with her chopsticks.
The chopsticks were the ones she’d just used, and hadn’t changed.
Adrian Jennings didn’t mind, obediently opening his mouth to eat what Talia fed him.
Cold light flashed in Selina Hughes’s eyes, she clenched her fists tightly, her knuckles turning white.
"It’s really delicious." Adrian Jennings’s eyes curved, a smile forming at the corner of his lips.
Talia smiled with eyes curved.
Selina Hughes’s expression didn’t look too good, her face darkened, and her tone was cold and heavy, "Brother, I’m going to eat now."
Talia pretended not to notice her face darker than the bottom of a pot, smiling brightly, "Sister, would you like some grilled meat? I just grilled it, and your brother said it’s very tasty."
"No need."
Selina Hughes turned coldly and left.
Talia exchanged a meaningful smile with Yvonne Coleman, who sat across from her.
Winter Donovan pursed her lips in a smile, giving Talia a thumbs-up.
Adrian Jennings knew Talia was deliberately putting on a show for Selina Hughes. He had cooperated well, and now that Selina Hughes was gone, he still wanted to act sweet like before.
The man had a smile in his eyes, "Talia, I still want to eat those grilled chicken wings, will you feed me?"
Talia looked at him with amusement, "If you want to eat, get it yourself."
"Hahaha, come on, man, in a relationship and want to be fed?" Ryan Quinn teased with a laugh, "Is this really the Adrian Jennings I know?"
Adrian Jennings leaned back in his chair, his eyes gleaming, looking at him as if in a good mood, "What, jealous? Ask your girlfriend to feed you, unless you don’t have a girlfriend?"
Ryan Quinn was laughing one second, and the next he was not.
He clutched his chest, making an exaggerated expression, "Heart attack level! Is this how you rag on your brother?"
Ryan Quinn refused to accept it, turning to Yvonne Coleman, "Yvonne, feed your brother something, we can’t lose in spirit."
Yvonne Coleman stabbed a grilled bun with chopsticks and shoved it into Ryan Quinn’s mouth aggressively, "Eat, eat, why don’t you just eat yourself to death!"
"Mmpf mmpf..." Ryan Quinn struggled to remove the bun, but Yvonne Coleman used brute force to block his mouth, preventing him from taking it away.
Everyone at the table was amused by the two of them, laughter sounded joyful and harmonious.
Over there, Selina Hughes was grinding her teeth in anger.
Talia Rhodes was flaunting her affection right in her face.
The disposable chopsticks broke in her hand, Selina Hughes’s eyes turned sinister.
Talia Rhodes, let’s see if you can still smile later!
...
After finishing the meal and resting for a while, everyone got ready to start climbing the mountain.
Ryan Quinn and Yvonne Coleman led the way, followed closely by Andrew and Winter Donovan, then Ethan Grant and Selina Hughes and others.
Talia and Adrian Jennings walked at the back.
Adrian Jennings walked beside Talia, always holding her hand.
"Talia, it takes about more than two hours to reach the viewing platform at the top of the mountain, can you manage?"
"Of course, I really enjoy hiking, it allows me to experience the natural scenery, it’s both stress-relieving and not too tiring."
Adrian Jennings knew Talia liked outdoor activities. Back in college, she often went hiking and rock climbing with her club friends. He just thought that after graduating, Talia hadn’t been outdoors much, worried she might not adapt.
Talia laughed, "I’ve climbed even taller and more rugged mountains before; I’ve been to all the Five Great Mountains. Mount Volantis is no problem at all."
Adrian Jennings’s eyes were filled with affection and pride, smiling gently, "Our Talia is truly amazing."
"Of course."
Adrian Jennings knew this, but Ethan Grant didn’t.
When Talia and Ethan Grant were together, she often suggested going hiking, but Ethan Grant would either say he was too busy or it was too tiring to climb.
He didn’t understand Talia’s hobbies and wasn’t willing to spend time with her.
After walking some distance, Ethan Grant suddenly stopped, standing by the path, letting the people behind walk first.
When Adrian Jennings and Talia Rhodes came over, Ethan Grant reached out to Talia Rhodes, "Talia, are you tired?"
Talia gave a sarcastic smile, "Not tired."
Adrian Jennings shook their firmly held hands, "No need for you to worry."
Ethan Grant lowered his head, his gaze fixed on their intertwined hands.
Talia said irritably, "Move aside, you’re blocking the way."
Ethan Grant stood in the middle of the path, not intending to move.
Adrian Jennings raised his eyes and looked at him with a half-smile, "What, do you want a close-up of me and Talia showing affection? Well, we’ll walk in front, you can watch from the back."
Adrian Jennings then unceremoniously pushed Ethan Grant aside, smiling provocatively, "Remember to take more pictures for us."
Ethan Grant: "..."
Selina Hughes, who doesn’t often exercise, started complaining about being tired after just half an hour. When Adrian Jennings walked by, Selina Hughes shoved her not-so-heavy hiking bag into Adrian Jennings’s arms.
Selina Hughes whined, "Brother, I’m so tired, can’t carry it anymore, will you help me?"
Adrian Jennings pointed to the straps of the backpack on his shoulders, his tone indifferent, "Can’t carry it, I’m already carrying one."
Selina Hughes continued to whine, "Brother, I’m really tired, just help me out."
"Alright."
Selina Hughes heard Adrian Jennings agree, her eyes brightened with joy, her lips curved upward.
The next moment, Adrian Jennings pulled out his phone to make a call, "I’ll call someone to escort you down the mountain, you should go back and rest if you’re tired."
The smile that hadn’t yet bloomed froze in an instant, Selina Hughes looked shocked, "Brother, you’re sending me down the mountain?"
Adrian Jennings didn’t lift his eyelids, continuing to dial the phone, "Yeah, aren’t you tired?"
Selina Hughes panicked, quickly stopping him, "No need, no need, I just rested a bit and suddenly don’t feel so tired."
She swiftly put the bag back on, "Really not tired anymore, don’t call."
"Then let’s keep moving." Adrian Jennings put away his phone without expression.
Aside, Talia Rhodes’s eyes flashed with ridicule.
She hooked her lips, intimately linked arms with Adrian Jennings, sweetly, "Brother Adrian, let’s go."
Selina Hughes: "..."
Ethan Grant: "..."
Adrian Jennings felt truly indulged, feeling pleasantly numb as Talia called him, his mouth couldn’t help but turn upward.
After walking for a bit, a small river appeared ahead.
Adrian Jennings guided Talia across the rocks to cross the river, "Talia, be careful."
The last step was quite wide to the riverbank, making it difficult for the girls to cross. The few girls in front were all helped across the river.
Talia grabbed Adrian Jennings’s hand for support to cross the river, when suddenly a voice exclaimed from behind.
Talia turned to look, seeing Selina Hughes standing on a rock in the middle of the river, her face pale.
"Brother, I can’t cross, can you come help me?"
