Chapter 500: Stayed out all night
CHAPTER 500: STAYED OUT ALL NIGHT
The security camera was right at the door, capturing George Stephens’ face in full.
Tears were still clinging to the corners of his eyes as he looked up at Robert Stephens’ room for a moment, then fiercely wiped his tears, turned around, and walked into the forest step by step.
Robert Stephens’ fist never loosened; he kept a firm gaze on George Stephens’ figure until it disappeared from the monitor, his whole body tense like a drawn bow.
"Sir!" The old butler, who had watched George Stephens grow up, was now flustered, "The young master spent a night in the mountains! The temperature difference here between day and night is so great, something could happen!"
"Shut up!" Robert Stephens rarely used such a harsh tone; he no longer had his usual indifferent calmness. He took a deep breath and lowered his voice, "Notify the director and tell him to stop filming now, release some people to go find him for me!"
*
Elena Raven was in the middle of filming when suddenly, Director Carter received a call, instructing to halt the shoot.
Daisy Ginger was resting in the studio. Upon seeing Elena Raven, still in costume, walking in, she looked up in confusion and asked, "So early today?"
"No." Elena Raven was equally perplexed, "Director Carter suddenly stopped filming. I have no idea what’s going on either."
Daisy Ginger stood up from her chair, walked out of the studio, and peered outside the door.
She saw Director Carter gathering about ten male staff members, who hurriedly ran off.
What on earth happened?
However, Daisy Ginger didn’t pay much attention and patted Elena Raven on the shoulder, "Go take your makeup off first. Wait for their notice."
After Elena Raven removed her makeup in the dressing room, she and Daisy Ginger were on their way back to the dormitory and ran into Edward Stephens coming downstairs.
The man’s brow was furrowed, his expression grave and burdened with concerns. He didn’t even notice them as he passed by.
"Edward?" Daisy Ginger, sensing something was wrong with him, instinctively grabbed him, "What’s the matter with you?"
Edward Stephens snapped back to reality, saw Daisy Ginger, and with a furrowed brow said, "Thomas Woods called and said George Stephens ran away from home last night and still hasn’t come back."
Daisy Ginger’s expression changed, "Because you hit him yesterday?"
The Stephens family’s offspring, why are each one of them so hot-tempered?
She forgot to give Erin Ginger a birthday gift and planned to run away from home, Edward Stephens slapped George Stephens, and he also ran away?
"This place isn’t that big. With so many people, no one saw him?"
Edward Stephens shook his head, frowning, "I heard he went into the mountains last night."
Daisy Ginger instinctively glanced at the distant mountain forest, also realizing why Edward Stephens was so serious.
A three-year-old child ran into the mountains and hasn’t returned after a whole night, now still nowhere to be found.
She grabbed Edward Stephens’ arm, "Where are you going now? I’ll go with you."
Even though Edward Stephens might not like that child, it’s still his flesh and blood. If George Stephens ran away because of that slap yesterday and hasn’t returned, he must be feeling uneasy now.
Daisy Ginger was also feeling quite conflicted; that brat, educated by Robert Stephens, had no sense of right or wrong, daring to do whatever he wanted, even set a snake on her. But if Edward Stephens stood up for her, leading to the child’s death in the woods, she couldn’t live with that.
After all, he’s just three years old, too young to understand life and death. In the beginning, the most he put on her bed were just bugs and mud.
Perhaps that snake in his eyes was merely a larger version of a "bug" that could bite.
