CHAPTER 1267: SAMUEL’S THOUGHTS
Samuel was very clear about the base’s layout. The security was best...even better than back home without any blind spots or any way to disrupt sensors but these restrictions were for normal humans. For him, he can weave through the infrastructure with ease to directly make his way toward the heart of the archives.
It had to be noted with his supreme connection to the Source, he might not even have to go and look at the history as everything was recorded inside but accessing such a vast amount of knowledge always left him useless for days. Still, there might be inconsistencies which needed to be addressed.
He only used the ultimate gift to learn particular skills beside, after so much meddling it’s not a guarantee that this realm will respond exactly like the copy he was connected to. There were already signs of deviation in the reports submitted by his subordinates especially from Verdant corporation.
There were already signs that this place was much more different from the one he visited back home. With five elders leading different branches, it was evident for them to divulge but that was not the issue.
What he needed was to find whether he should show mercy to those that hurt Talia so viciously. Ariel might be connected to her but he didn’t know where her true loyalty lies. With what he observed in past few days, this place held too many secrets.
Passing through another dead zone, he made his way to his destination. The archives weren’t particularly well protected, it was just a place to store history not their intelligence gathering place.
Samuel stood at the door which had a particularly difficult biometric lock. He thought about it and decided to to force his way inside through some maintenance ducts. He wanted to break through the door but he still need to maintain some discretion for time being at least until Talia was ready to leave with him.
There was also the issue with Ariel along with the whole clan who were crawling at every inch of this secret base. He scanned one last time before holding his breath to enter the massive underground achieve where all the secrets about the Vishakanyas were held.
He expected some digital interface but the massive room housed rows upon rows of book shelfs each designated with different symbols for identification. Fortunately, it was very straightforward but at a glance he could see such massive reserve dates back atleast a millennium which was impressive even in his book.
He walked around the space casually taking in the layout breezing through some of the books which looked older than things he had seen in museum but he also noticed the catalogue was not complete, beside many things were replaced by modern imitation probably because the originals must have degraded over time.
Still he dampened his curiosity as he was here to ’judge’ the clan’s circumstances with his own eyes before making judgement. By now, he knew he couldn’t just play around with these groups of people. Giving them mercy might be easier on his consciousness but knowing the harm they could cause to others, especially with their poison arts was unimaginable.
Beside, this was just one of the top leader’s hideout, there were four more like this but this one was definitely higher on the totem pole, much higher than Raani’s office at london.
His mind was already biased with what they did to Talia but as a stabilizing force, he needed to calm his mind and get to the bottom of their intentions.
He started methodically shifting through the accounts from the beginning filtering out important information from the mundane. These accounts were less like modern books and more like articles cobbled up together to record important accounts in low profile manner.
There were no emotions behind the words, just cold facts written in most efficient order to conserve as much space as possible. With his picture perfect memory, he could remember everything but he actively edited out the boring stuffs and only registered what he deemed important.
No matter how supernatural his memory was, he didn’t want to fill it with junks. This was one of the reason why he was so selective about which memories and testimonials he accessed from the Source.
Early accounts were sparsely recorded, which was in line with what Talia told him. There were really no fixed year when their organization was conceived but it did originate somewhere around indus valley under the reign of king who used them as special assassins.
Later after accumulating decades of trust they actively branched off to other parts of the world through silk road and ocean voyage extending their reach.
There was centuries of lost knowledge when the communication was cut off mainly during the dark ages. The church was especially powerful practically limiting the flow of information which greatly boosted their middle east and asian branches. Still with thin communication, they were way ahead of the curve converting their underground organisation to delve into lucrative business.
They were striving at the start of millennium giving them immense power and wealth controlling many kingdom and principalities around the globe but they never forgot their root. Beside due to their lack of numbers the actual count of inner circle Vishakanyas were small as the ritual to produce one was still very primitive with thin success margins.
But around sixteenth century they faced a bloody disaster. He looked at the shelf that depicted the whole history in detail and just reading the account his blood boiled. But more than that, it gave a clear account of the shadow that he has been chasing for months at this point.
The mysterious organization that was responsible for the disaster was definitely the six crown that he has been pursuing. The more he read about them, the more he understood the reason why even through the immense Rothschild resources, why he never able to find clues about them.
Then everything halted like someone pulled the main cord off the story. He wanted to know more but all it stated were the names of ’martyrs’ that were lost during the bloody skirmish.
A particular figure stood out but there were barely any account about her fate in later records like someone delicately erased her identity to hide some inexplicable truth!
Samuel didn’t have any other choice but to move on to finish his reading leaving the topic for when he would meet the ’warden’ of this place. He knew as the elder, she would definitely know more about her.
