Chapter 364: Cruel Self-Reflection
“i am crazy, but don’t you know why?” yuan hui’s face was twisted.
the kind gao ming had no idea what yuan hui was talking about. “i’ve forgotten many things... if i’m really the reason why you’ve become like this, i’m willing to apologise to you, and i’ll do anything to make it up to you!”
“make it up to me?” yuan hui’s eyes darkened. “a life for a life! give me your life then!” yuan hui pulled out the knife he hid behind him and pounced at gao ming.
“we can talk this out! i’m sure this is a misunderstanding!” the kind gao ming cried, but yuan hui refused to listen. he chased after gao ming with superhuman speed.
“die! die! every mistake starts with you! use your life to repent on it!” yuan hui’s howls travelled far in the building.
“shush. you’ll lure other things over!” there were other security members in yuan hui’s room. every one of them had a wound on their arms. the kind gao ming turned back to look. yuan hui was twice as fast as he was. he was slowly catching up to him, and other people were helping him.
“this is bad!” the kind gao ming retraced his steps. the normal gao ming, who was hilding, waved at him. the two hid in the same room.
“where did his footsteps go?” yuan hui rushed up the stairs and studied the quiet corridor. “gone into hiding, right?” with a wicked smile on his face, yuan hui caressed the doors on both sides with his bloody fingers. “why did you stop running and decide to hide like a rat? i’ll repay ten times the pain you’ve given me.” the knife landed on the wooden door on the left. yuan hui destroyed the door like a mad dog. he looked into the dark room. “not here?” the first room on the left was empty. yuan hui turned to the second room. he was not in a hurry because he had the upper hand.
yuan hui’s teammates appeared on the other end of the corridor. they frowned deeply. they thought yuan hui was being too loud. “be quiet!” the female member warned him, “if you hate him so much, why didn’t you kill him the last time you met him? is it not because you are afraid of the ghost inside his body?”
“has he committed suicide?” the female member’s eyes twitched. the tall member was shocked.
the hanging body swayed like a pendulum. yuan hui’s hand that held the knife relaxed. he entered the room, sliced through the wires and tossed gao ming’s corpse out into the corridor.
“he is really dead. did he kill himself from guilt?” the tall member still couldn’t believe him. “what a cruel self-reflection. you killed our target with your words.”
“but his body temperature is too low, and the strangulation mark around his neck doesn’t match.” the female member ignored yuan hui and cut open gao ming’s chest. then, she placed her arm wound next to gao ming’s chest. “jing tuoshen said that the death portrait in our bodies is related to gao ming. if this body is really him, then it’ll resonate with the portrait...” before she could finish, the fragment was like a piranha that had sensed blood. it flowed out through her wound and entered the corpse’s chest.
“it worked! this is really gao ming! we’ve eliminated the first of our three targets!” after the portrait fragment left her body, she felt so much better without the constant pain. “this is quite easy. if we’re outside, we definitely won’t be able to deal with gao ming. thankfully, jing tuoshen has made a deal with the gods here behind the headquarters...” the female member caught herself and shut up.
“stop talking.” the tall member pulled the fragment out of his body as well. he was worried about the corpse, so he used his knife to cut off the joints where gao ming’s limbs were connected, “our next target is wan jie.”
yuan hui still had concerns, but strange commotion came from the corridor.
wan jie, who got the mud figurine, was racing upstairs. the grandmother chased after him. to escape, wan jie tried many things but his power was limited in the building as well. he was already drained just to prevent memory loss.
“tall one, carry gao ming’s corpse. we’ll go take a look.” after yuan hui sent the portrait fragment into gao ming’s chest, he slowly calmed down. he still felt that something was not right, but he had something more important to do.
