How to Tame a God and the Lucky Beasts
Chapter 94 - 95: One More Laborer
CHAPTER 94: CHAPTER 95: ONE MORE LABORER
6:30 in the morning.
Ruan Xingwen felt like his quilt weighed a thousand pounds.
He struggled to open his eyes and saw Andy sprawled out in a starfish position, his arm pressing down on his stomach.
Ruan Xingwen helplessly removed Andy’s hand and nestled back under the quilt.
The weather was getting cooler, but he didn’t want to turn on the air conditioner. He preferred to snuggle under the quilt, feeling warm.
Ruan Xingwen closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep again. But after dozing for a while, he woke up and couldn’t fall back asleep.
He had no choice but to get up, leaving Andy alone in the warm, large quilt.
It was already October 25th, and winter was approaching.
The piping in the old house was aging, and although it had been renovated, the heating was still not good.
As soon as Ruan Xingwen got out of bed, a chill hit his face, making him shiver.
He quickly dressed in his home clothes and went to the bathroom to wash up.
When he came out of the bathroom, Andy was still deeply asleep.
Ruan Xingwen was puzzled; he had only had a can of beer, so how could he be this tired?
Little did he know, since Andy broke up with that jerk, he hadn’t slept so soundly in a long time.
After returning to the country, Andy had to adjust to jet lag and manage the hotel, leaving even less time for rest.
When the hotel matters were sorted out, Andy often found himself too restless to sleep when alone.
Seeing Andy so deeply asleep, Ruan Xingwen didn’t wake him up and went out alone to buy breakfast.
As for last night’s leftovers, before heading out, he took a look and found none suitable for breakfast.
"Brr..."
As Ruan Xingwen exited the hallway, he inhaled sharply due to the cold. Today was too cold. He immediately tightened his coat and headed towards the bun shop.
"Ah Wen..."
"Ah Wen?"
"Where is he..."
Andy groggily called out and found he was home alone.
On the nightstand was a blanket, which Andy wrapped around himself as he walked out of the bedroom.
Looking at the clock, it was only 6:40.
"So early, what’s Ah Wen up to?" he mumbled as he moved to another spot and continued to snuggle.
Andy wasn’t as tall as Ruan Xingwen, but he was about 1.75 meters. This big guy, curling up on the sofa, looked quite pitiful.
Just then, he heard a click from the door, and the previously gloomy Andy immediately perked up.
"Huh? Awake so early?"
Seeing the blanket on Andy, Ruan Xingwen curiously asked, "If you’re cold, why don’t you turn on the air conditioning?"
"I’m afraid you’ll mind the electricity bill..."
"..." No need to be so frugal; he’s just not used to it.
Ruan Xingwen didn’t expect Andy to wake up so early, but it was perfect to have breakfast together.
He held up the bag in his hand, "Have you washed up? If not, hurry and do it, then we’ll have breakfast together. Hot buns and porridge."
"Okay!"
Andy quickly went to wash up.
By the time he returned, Ruan Xingwen had set the table. Andy sat down at the dining table and took a deep breath.
"Smells so good! I’ve been eating bread and milk for breakfast for over ten years; it’s so much better here. With some hot porridge, my whole body feels warm."
"Not that exaggerated, hurry and eat!" Ruan Xingwen took a bite of a bun, yum, Aunt Sun’s buns were really delicious.
Midway through their meal, Ruan Xingwen said:
"Anan, can you accompany me to run some errands later?"
Andy swallowed the bun in his mouth, "Sure, what is it?"
Just as he agreed to Ruan Xingwen, he suddenly remembered the little foreigner he "left" at the hotel...
"Wait, Ah Wen. I need to head back to the hotel first, or else An Qi might blow it up."
"Not finalized yet. Once office hours start, I’ll ask when the other party is available."
Ruan Xingwen glanced at the happily eating Andy, "Are you feeling alright? Any headaches?"
"No headaches, just a bit groggy at first, but a few sips of porridge made it much better. Now I’m full of energy!"
Andy indeed had let go, but had kept his emotions bottled up. Last night, in front of Ruan Xingwen, he vented out all the bad emotions, and everything was fine.
Now Andy was once again the stunningly handsome guy in his unique style!
That was Andy’s own evaluation of himself.
Ruan Xingwen saw that he was so spirited and didn’t seem to have any issues, so he could only nod.
"That’s good, you just mentioned An Qi, why did she come back with you? Is Uncle coming back too?"
"How could that be? He and Aunt Alice have a great relationship, and they’ve entrusted An Qi to me while they go on a world tour!"
So that’s the situation.
"Then, is An Qi still in school? How old is she?"
Andy picked up another bun, taking a big bite, and continued:
"That girl just has a face that can bluff people."
Ruan Xingwen didn’t understand, and asked curiously, "What?"
Andy explained, "An Qi is twenty-five this year, the same age as us."
This really shocked Ruan Xingwen. An Qi looked so petite; he thought she wasn’t even twenty, but she’s the same age as him!
"Hahaha, you couldn’t tell either, huh? When I first saw her, she looked just like she does now, except she’s grown a bit taller over the years."
Seeing Ruan Xingwen’s shocked expression, Andy mercilessly laughed at him, then shifted his tone a bit mysteriously:
"But Aunt Alice is about as tall as me, and An Qi is only 1.6 meters... Ah Wen, do you think An Qi’s dad might be a bit short?"
Ruan Xingwen thought he would reveal some shocking secret, but it turned out to be just gossip.
But speaking of height, Ruan Xingwen looked Andy up and down, making Andy feel a bit uneasy, then he spoke:
"Anan, you haven’t grown in years either, right? Back then, didn’t you mock me?"
He remembered Andy being a few centimeters taller than him before going abroad, and he was teased by Andy for being a shortie.
Who would have thought, during high school, Ruan Xingwen’s height shot up, reaching 1.8 meters.
Once he reached 1.8 meters, his height miraculously stopped growing, allowing Ruan Xingwen to fulfill a childhood wish—to reach 1.8 meters!
But Andy wasn’t so lucky. He didn’t know why his height stopped at 1.75 meters, no matter how much he jumped or played basketball—it was useless...
The tables have turned; perhaps this is fate!
Andy thoughtfully pondered while chewing on a bun.
Buns are still the best, they don’t bully you, and they’re so tasty!
After gulping down a bun in two bites, Andy felt his stomach was a bit too full.
"No more, I can’t eat anymore, I’m too full."
Ruan Xingwen had no choice, "Who told you to eat so fast? Of course, you’d be stuffed. Get up and walk around, don’t just sit there, otherwise it’ll be more uncomfortable."
It was also his fault, not reminding Andy.
"A few people’s chatter, exchanging a few words of goodnight~"
Just as Andy stood up, Ruan Xingwen’s phone rang—the ringtone he changed last night before going to bed—"Goodnight."
"Hello, hi."
