CHAPTER 125: CHAPTER 125: ORAL ULCER?

"No worries!" Kris Cooper reached out and held Vera Wave’s chin, lifting her little face to meet his gaze. "There are more ways than one to be intimate."

Vera’s heart thudded. Did he want her to use some other method?!

His gaze swept across her slender shoulders exposed by her bathrobe, and Kris Cooper swiftly averted his eyes.

"Get in the room and lie down."

It was only March, and the weather was chilly. This foolish girl wasn’t even afraid of catching a cold.

Her shoulders hunched, Vera entered the bedroom, climbed into bed, and pulled the quilt over herself. Watching the man’s long legs gradually move towards the side of the bed, she swallowed unconsciously.

What if he really wanted her to use some other method?!

Kris Cooper sat down beside her and pulled down the quilt she had drawn up high.

"Sit up."

"I..." Vera reluctantly got up. "I... I’ve been feeling a bit run down lately, and I have canker sores!"

Canker sores?

Kris Cooper raised an eyebrow. After a moment, it clicked, and his brows furrowed slightly. Where did this silly girl pick up such nonsense?

Suppressing his anger, he handed her a cup of brown sugar water.

Vera took the glass, looked at the liquid inside, sniffed it, and detected a faint smell of caramel.

This guy... Was he just in the kitchen brewing this for her?

She looked up, startled, as the man’s commanding voice rang out.

"Drink it while it’s still warm!"

Just because her period came and she couldn’t cater to his needs, was it necessary for him to throw such a tantrum?

Vera silently pouted, brought the cup to her lips, and a sip filled her mouth with a rich sweetness.

Since it wasn’t his own sugar, he’d certainly been generous with it!

After finishing the cup of hot water, the discomfort in her abdomen did not subside. Vera curled up her legs and frowned slightly.

Her menstrual cramps were far worse than most, especially on the first day; the sensation was akin to someone stirring her lower abdomen with a knife.

Because of this, she had visited the hospital many times and had taken countless bitter traditional medicines, but nothing seemed to work.

He reached out to take the cup from her hand. Feeling her icy fingers, he frowned again.

Placing the cup on the table, he took the hand she had looped around her knees. Her fingers were so cold they felt almost without temperature.

Vera pulled her hand out of his, tucked her frigid arm under the blanket, then looked up pleadingly at him.

"I’m really uncomfortable. Can we do it some other time?"

This time, she was not pretending.

"Wait for me!"

Kris Cooper straightened, adjusted the blanket for her, then stood up and walked out of the room.

Hearing the sound of the door closing, Vera breathed a sigh of relief. She wriggled into the cold quilt, curling herself into a ball.

Too lazy to turn off the light, she just thought that if she fell asleep, she might feel better.

However, the icy feeling in her abdomen intensified, accompanied by an indescribable ache that grew more and more severe. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to fall asleep, but couldn’t.

Suddenly, there was a faint rustling sound outside the door, as if someone was unlocking it.

You’ve got to be kidding! It couldn’t be a thief, could it?!

Vera forced herself to sit up. Footsteps had already reached her bedroom door. The slightly ajar door was pushed open, and Kris Cooper walked in, holding a plastic bag.

"Mr...Mr. Cooper?!"

When she saw her house key on the table—which he must have placed there—she finally understood. So, he *had* taken her key!

Kris Cooper left again. A moment later, he returned with a cup of hot water. He took a medicine bottle from the bag, poured a pill onto the cap, and held it out to her.

"Take your medicine."
