Chapter 158: Monster Dad, Violent Mom
CHAPTER 158: CHAPTER 158: MONSTER DAD, VIOLENT MOM
Nathan Leafcastle kept watching her figure disappear around the corner, then descended the steps, sat in the back seat of the car, and dialed a number.
"How is it?"
"I have already been in touch with them. The middleman says they have no plans to sell again."
"Tell the middleman, I’ll offer a hundred million!"
"Alright, Mr. Leafcastle."
「The Cooper Mansion.」
The flamboyant aqua blue sports car parked at the entrance. Kris Cooper got out of the car wearing only a shirt and strode to the mansion.
"Young Master, you’re back!"
The servant looked shocked upon seeing him.
Without turning his head, Kris Cooper responded and sprinted up the stairs.
As he was about to turn the corner on the second floor, he saw a woman in home clothes, arms crossed, glaring at him.
"Who are you? Who are you looking for?!"
With a well-maintained face, she looked only a few years older than Kris Cooper. Her skin was as white as snow, making her look even younger.
This was none other than Kris Cooper’s mother, Bailey Hansen.
Kris Cooper laughed and walked over, hugging her shoulders. "Mom, don’t you recognize your own son?"
"I don’t have a son." Bailey Hansen remained stern, completely ignoring his attempts to butter her up. "Go do what you gotta do. Your mom isn’t here!"
"Look what you’re saying! If you don’t have a son, then who am I?" Kris Cooper attempted to pacify her with a smile, planning to continue his way upstairs.
"Stop!" Bailey Hansen grabbed the back of his shirt collar. "First, honestly tell me where you’ve been gallivanting these past few days."
"I haven’t! Wasn’t I... working hard?"
"Working hard?" Bailey Hansen pushed him away. "You think your mom doesn’t know your glorious exploits just because I was on a business trip? You haven’t been home all week, so where have you been staying?"
"At the office! Didn’t you say I should treat the company as my home?" Kris Cooper gave her a smile and seized the opportunity to slip up the stairs. "Mom, I need to find something. We can talk later!"
As she watched his retreating figure, Bailey Hansen shouted from the staircase, "Kris Cooper, I’m telling you, if you dare get involved with men out there, I’ll castrate you myself!"
A lazy voice echoed from the hallway.
"Honey, I’ve been behaving recently. Why are you threatening to castrate me again? Don’t you want happiness for the rest of our lives?"
With a gentle patter of footsteps, a tall man emerged wearing a bathrobe. Bearing a resemblance to Kris Cooper, this was none other than his dad, Christopher Cooper.
Of course, anyone who didn’t know them would never believe he was the father; they would assume they were brothers.
Bailey Hansen glared at Christopher Cooper, who was holding a tablet. "All you know is how to play that stupid game! You don’t even pay attention to our son!"
"He’s not a minor anymore, why should I control him?" Christopher Cooper came over and put an arm around her shoulders. "Besides, this isn’t a stupid game. It’s the work of the most legendary game designer, Ms. Bailey Hansen. Of course, I have to experience it thoroughly."
Bailey Hansen’s expression softened a bit. "How is it?"
Christopher shrugged. "Average, I guess."
Someone’s mood instantly soured.
"Get lost!"
"Get lost, I shall!"
He shoved the tablet into her arms, then, in one swift motion, scooped Bailey Hansen off the ground.
"What do you think you’re doing?!"
"Didn’t you just tell me to get lost in the sheets with you?!" Christopher Cooper carried her into the bedroom. "A husband should always fulfill his wife’s desires!"
"I still have things to discuss with Kris!"
"I’ve already looked into his affairs. Apparently, he’s quite taken with a young lady recently. It’s rare for him to be willing to date someone, so let’s not interfere!"
Ever since their son had a relationship in America six years ago, he had refused to date anyone again.
Bailey Hansen had been constantly worrying about this, fearing that her son might have some psychological or physical problem.
