I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO
Chapter 41: From "Goddess" to Basket Case
CHAPTER 41: CHAPTER 41: FROM "GODDESS" TO BASKET CASE
The "finance department goddess" who was beaten up is still there crying, not understanding what happened.
"I’ll pay, I’ll pay!" A finance colleague nearby had already sensed the situation was bad, hurriedly pulling out two hundred USD from their wallet and handing it to Vera Wave’s subordinates, "You can keep the change for coffee."
"Well, thank you then."
Vera raised her hand to take the money and walked away.
Anyway, this guy just helped that bitch, so charging him an extra 54 USD is just a little lesson for him.
With the two hundred USD in hand, Vera hummed a tune as she walked past the "goddess" with black tear-streaked face and left the finance department’s door, with Kris Cooper hurriedly stepping out to follow.
None of the employees paid attention to the beaten "goddess" and instead gathered around Kaiden Wilton.
"Boss, who was that?"
"Who?" Kaiden Wilton snorted, "The president!"
The word "president" made several people’s hearts tremble unanimously.
That was the president, then... isn’t that person from the logistics department the president’s girlfriend?
The few people deeply regretted it internally to the point of spitting blood and simultaneously were puzzled.
The president’s girlfriend, even if not placed in a manager role, should at least be in a relaxed and good department, how could she be in the logistics department?
"Boss, this... this doesn’t make sense! How could this happen?!"
"You’re asking me?" Kaiden Wilton squeezed out a snort from his nose, "I want to ask you guys too!"
He just reported the work to the president and had a pleasant chat with the big BOSS, because upon hearing about Kris Cooper’s incognito visit, he invited the president over to take a look.
Originally, he wanted his subordinates to give him some face, but who knew they would perform this act.
Luckily that cup of coffee didn’t splash on Vera, otherwise, if the blame came down, he might have suffered as well.
Each of the subordinates had a mocking look, glancing at one another, and finally unanimously decided to sacrifice the "finance department goddess."
"Isn’t it all because of Jenny?"
"Yes, I just persuaded her to let it go, but she insisted on arguing with them!"
"Right, the person didn’t even make a mistake, and she wanted to find a bone to pick in an egg."
"Exactly, the person didn’t even say a harsh word, and she insisted on causing trouble!"
...
The so-called, peers are enemies.
In a department, they are naturally competitive partners.
This "finance department goddess" Jenny, because of her beauty and love to show off, was always a favorite in front of Kaiden Wilton.
But now everyone knows that Jenny has offended the prince, and getting fired is inevitable.
When the wall falls, everyone pushes.
Everyone prefers to protect themselves, who cares about her?
Thus, all the responsibility was collectively pushed onto her.
"You all..." Goddess Jenny raised her face with tears streaking down, looking wronged at Kaiden Wilton, "Director, I..."
Normally a woman who appeared pleasant, now looks like a drama queen; seeing her smeared makeup, Kaiden Wilton was even more repulsed.
"Settle your salary and hand over your work to Linda."
"Yes, Director!" Jenny hadn’t yet responded when Linda next to her already proactively said, "Don’t worry, I’ll do the work well."
The workplace is like a harem, where there’s always laughter from new people and no tears from the old.
From the department’s favorite to a dog in the water, from "goddess" to drama queen, Jenny took less than two hours, all because of one reason - offending someone she shouldn’t have.
