CHAPTER 1848: CHAPTER 1841: FOLLOW US, AND YOU WON’T GO HUNGRY

Hearing Tang Ye say this, Bai Huipeng chuckled and walked out. After leaving the room, he waved to the others, and soon those burly men forced the high-level zombie to be pushed back into the house.

"Let’s go, let’s go, we’re going in."

"What are you going to do!"

"Oh, stop dawdling."

Listening to the urging voices around him, he felt helpless. There were too many of them; just himself, a Level 8 zombie, couldn’t handle it. He tried to find a chance to leave, but when he looked around, every possible escape route was blocked tightly!

He was sure that if he even showed an intention to escape, he’d be pinned to the ground in no time as they had caught him before.

Having no other choice, he reluctantly followed the will of these fellow zombies and was pushed into this lavishly decorated villa.

Once inside, the first thing he saw was Tang Ye sitting on the sofa in the living room, and at that moment, his expression froze, and his steps stopped.

"Uh..." He uttered a deep and indistinct sound. Unlike new humans, he had already evolved into a Level 8 zombie and could instantly sense that the man sitting on the sofa was a terrifying kind far beyond his level!

The almost tangible high-level willpower suppressed him to the point his body went limp, as if he understood the true meaning of suffocation!

This was suffocation, right now!

His body uncontrollably knelt down, and others reached out to help him up but eventually did not intervene.

"Boss, we’ve caught an interesting guy, he should pass the vetting." One of the burly men said beside Tang Ye, and Tang Ye merely lifted his hand to indicate he acknowledged, then looked at the "person" wearing a gray jacket.

He asked, "What’s your name?"

The "person" looked around, and realizing he was being asked, instinctively shrank back.

Perhaps from living in human society for too long, the fear of the Zombie King among humans affected him as well, making him fear the Zombie King he had never seen before!

Originally, he thought he would never have to deal with such terrifying beings, but who imagined he would suddenly encounter one?

He wasn’t mentally prepared at all!

There are six Level 9 Zombie Kings on land, one of which has fallen, leaving five kings on different continents. He had been guessing which one this man might be.

But now, as the other spoke to him, just the oppressive feeling from the tone made him temporarily lose his ability to think.

After a long pause, he cautiously responded in a low voice, "My... my name is Zhao Boning..."

"Zhao Boning?" Tang Ye froze for a moment upon hearing the name, then said in a strange tone, "Your name has quite an artistic vibe..."

It’s not surprising Tang Ye found it odd, for high-level zombies trying to integrate into human society must first have a name, right? Yet when they first encounter human society, they don’t even know how to speak human language, let alone give themselves a name!

And such a good name?

Take the Royal Court for example, many Level 8 zombies have very random names like Hong Heixin, Jiema, Abeng, Li Man, Chu Zha, Zhu Moli, Fat Xiong, and more, each more memorable than the last. Their names are usually given by Liang Hanyang, Gong Xiao, or Ah Fu, so they don’t sound very formal.

As for names like Gert, Kano Jie, Du Lifu, Ha Zhen, Horst, Bennis, they are either taken from deceased people or vaguely remembered names from before they became zombies.

For example, the burly man who spoke beside Tang Ye was named Heiya, without a surname, just simply "Heiya" - two characters.

The reason for such peculiar names is because, early on, when Ah Fu led people to guide the zombie tide and met this guy, back then Heiya couldn’t speak and the first sound he made was "heiya" (onomatopoeia).

Realizing he could communicate, they brought him back to the Royal Court, and when naming him, Ah Fu used his first roar to name him "Heiya."

And this name gradually turned into the nickname "Black Duck," and today has evolved into "Duck."

In general, zombies who can integrate into human society and live normally rarely have refined names.

"Thank you, thank you! Hahaha~" Tang Ye’s words made Zhao Boning laugh awkwardly. He didn’t quite understand what Tang Ye meant by "artistic vibe," perhaps thinking it was a compliment...

"Did you choose this name yourself?" Soon, Tang Ye asked again, and hearing this, Zhao Boning shook his head, "No."

"Then who did?" Tang Ye subtly nodded; Zhao Boning was already halfway "vetted."

"I don’t remember." Zhao Boning shook his head again, seemingly trying to recall something before responding, "It seems like a very, very old person gave me this name."

"A very old... person, hmm." Tang Ye nodded again, it seemed an elderly scholar gave him this name.

"Did that person also teach you to speak?"

"No, his dolls taught me. He has many, many dolls, and those dolls taught me to speak... binary sounds? Then slowly I learned to talk."

"I see, what happened to the ones who taught you?"

Zhao Boning paused for a moment and then shook his head again.

"I don’t know, I can’t find them. Did they die?" He questioned, while Tang Ye took a sip of minced meat without delving into it. He then quickly continued asking, "What do you usually do at Cloud Gorge Base?"

"Help people collect corpses, then eat the bodies."

"How many can you collect in a day?"

"Sometimes more, sometimes less. On the days with more, several hundred bodies, on days with less, maybe none."

"Is that enough for you?" Tang Ye frowned slightly. Dead people are either new humans or ordinary people. The former won’t have anyone keeping the Evolution Crystal Core after death, while the latter is just a simple body. Just eating flesh from bodies, even if there are over 300 every day, wouldn’t be enough to satisfy the hunger of a Level 8 zombie, right?

"Not enough." Zhao Boning didn’t hide, directly shaking his head.

"So what do you do when it’s not enough? Kill people?"

"No, I steal Yajin from others. Many people have Yajin stored at home, when it’s not enough, I steal it at night."

"Huh~" Tang Ye chuckled. If he said that, it makes sense; Cloud Gorge Base has quite a few wealthy new humans, and relying on stealing would be relatively easy for a Level 8 zombie to do, barely meeting his hunger needs.

"Alright then, how many days have you been starving?"

"Last time I filled my belly seems a long way off." Zhao Boning murmured, not daring to speak too loudly, Tang Ye laughed, gestured to Bai Huipeng, who upon understanding went upstairs, and soon returned holding a handful of Evolution Crystals, throwing them directly at Zhao Boning.

The other hurriedly caught them, somewhat dazed, and Bai Huipeng said, "Stick with us, you won’t starve. Eat up."
