Those with unusual masks often turned out to be major characters from the original story. For example, that person wandering around in the cow mask was probably Agnes.

Whether intentional or not, cow masks tended to make a woman’s figure appear more voluptuous. Seeing her standing aloof in a corner of the ballroom brought a smile to my face.
