CHAPTER 63: CHAPTER 63: DISCIPLES HAVE TO KILL TEN THOUSAND DEMONIC BEASTS IN 24 HOURS

One month had passed.

Every disciple of the Sanatan Flame Sect had endured the hellish warm-up training devised by Shaurya. Day after day, without a single break, they trained under the crushing burden of weight bracelets—each weighing a full ton.

The sect grounds echoed with the sounds of hardship.

Every morning, disciples threw themselves into endless cycles of 10,000 push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and jumping jacks, followed by fifty laps from the sect’s mountain gate to the valley below and back. By the end of each day, their bodies trembled with exhaustion, muscles screaming, sweat drenching their robes, yet none dared to stop.

They pushed their limits, inching closer to breaking. Their wills refused to fade. In Shaurya’s sect, there was no discrimination between genders; everyone endured the same torment. Shaurya’s belief in equality left no room for favoritism.

Among them, Wang Tian and Luo Chen stood as paragons of willpower. To them, this suffering wasn’t merely training—it was a competition. Lu Fang and Sheng Lu followed their example with burning determination. Meanwhile, Xiao Rui and his group of companions clung to life, their only solace being that they had survived long enough not to die unmarried.

Amidst their efforts, Shaurya sat cross-legged on the mountain peak, his back straight as a blade, his eyes closed in serene meditation. His lips moved in rhythm, chanting softly yet firmly:

"Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya..."

The holy mantra echoed like ripples through the mountain air, resonating with the faint golden light radiating from his body. After completing the 108th repetition, Shaurya slowly opened his eyes. A warm smile graced his face, carrying a calmness that masked his inner vigilance.

At that moment, a familiar sound pierced the silence.

[Ding... Sect Mission: Your disciples must slay 10,000 Demonic Beasts within 24 hours while wearing weight bracelets at two stars.

Reward: Sect Mission Hall.

Punishment: One Major Level Cultivation Drop.]

Shaurya’s eyes widened. His jaw slackened in disbelief.

"What the hell... You damn systemmmm! Do you want my disciples dead? How can they slay 10,000 Demonic Beasts in just 24 hours while wearing two-ton weights? And why do I have to face the punishment?"

The system’s cold, casual tone responded, indifferent to his frustration.

[When you complete missions with the help of your disciples, most of the time you alone receive the rewards. Now, if your disciples fail to complete this task, you—as sect master—must face the punishment. Stop complaining. Stop crying. Focus on completing the mission.]

Blue veins bulged across Shaurya’s forehead. His fist clenched tight enough to whiten his knuckles. But he inhaled deeply, exhaled slowly, and steadied his resolve.

With a blur of movement, his figure vanished from the peak, reappearing in front of his disciples with blinding speed. His voice thundered like rolling stormclouds:

"You all, gather!"

The order reverberated across the entire sect like divine law. In moments, disciples rushed to the training ground, forming ranks with tired yet attentive expressions.

Lin Shu, her robes flowing gently in the mountain breeze, stepped forward with worry etched across her delicate face.

"Is everything fine? You are looking very worried."

Shaurya opened his eyes, glancing at her briefly before forcing a faint smile.

"Don’t worry. Nothing much."

Then, turning to the gathered disciples, his voice boomed once again:

"Listen, you all. I am giving you a task. You have to complete this task within 24 hours. If you fail to complete this task, then your warm-up training will increase twofold!"

A collective gasp spread through the ranks. Jaws dropped. Eyes bulged in disbelief.

Whispers ran like wildfire through the disciples.

"We are unable to handle this training already... If it doubles... I bet we won’t withstand it!"

Xiao Rui and his companions trembled at the thought, their bodies quivering. But with grim determination, they shook their heads violently, shouting together:

"Master! No matter what the task is, we will surely complete it!"

Their cries sparked a roaring chorus.

"Yeah... Yeahhh! Master, we will surely complete this task within 24 hours!"

A cunning smile bloomed within Shaurya’s heart.

"I knew this plan would surely work."

The system’s mechanical voice hummed in amusement.

[You are really cunning, Host. How could you threaten them and force them into this task?]

Shaurya replied with a bright grin.

"I learnt this from you, my Shakuni Systu."

Placing both hands in his pockets, he revealed the true challenge:

"You have to slaughter 10,000 Demonic Beasts in 24 hours. No matter what you do, you must finish this task while wearing weight bracelets at two stars."

The disciples froze in shock.

Lee Bie’s face darkened. "It’s not fair... How can we do this?"

Cheng Fang’s voice broke with tears. "Weel at front and Vally at back..."

But others showed no hesitation.

Wang Tian laughed, his sword gleaming as he drew it. "Now this is what we call a challenge!"

Luo Chen’s eyes lit with wild excitement. "Hahahahaha, this is fun!"

Their courage spread like fire. Muo Qian and Su Quan exchanged a determined glance, nodded together, and unsheathed their swords, ready to shine. Lu Fang and Sheng Lu fist-bumped.

"Let’s smash the beasts," Sheng Lu declared.

Lu Fang smiled and nodded.

Shen Hang unsheathed his spear, spinning it until the tip hummed with power.

Jun Hua placed her hands on Muo Qian and Su Quan’s shoulders, eyes fierce.

"Girls, are you ready?"

They nodded, their voices rising in unison:

"Let’s go!"

Seeing such confidence, Xiao Rui’s group sighed in unison.

"We have to do this," Zong Bu said firmly.

Xiao Rui cracked his neck with a bitter grin. "We don’t have any other choice."

Shaurya’s gaze swept over them all. His voice rang clear.

"Don’t forget to activate two stars on your weight bracelets."

A collective sigh escaped, yet every disciple obeyed, activating the two-star setting. The weight instantly pressed upon them, shaking their knees.

Wang Tian and Luo Chen laughed heartily.

"We’ve already been using three stars for nearly two weeks," Luo Chen said.

Wang Tian rolled his shoulders proudly.

Around them, disciples whispered in awe. "Monsters... Are they really disciples like us?"

Su Quan and Muo Qian’s eyes glimmered with pride, admiration overflowing. "That’s my boyfriend," their expressions silently declared.

Shaurya raised his hand.

"Your time starts now. Begin!"

At once, the training grounds erupted into chaos. Disciples launched into the sky, their aerial steps leaving trails of light as they soared above the mountain like a tide of flames.

The sky itself seemed to tremble as hundreds of disciples rushed toward the Demonic Beast Valley.

Shaurya and the elders followed, floating high above to observe.

Below, the Demonic Beast Valley quaked. At the valley’s edge, the ordinary beasts shrank in terror. But the disciples ignored them. Their targets were not harmless creatures but the true threats: Demonic Beasts, born with sinister intelligence and brimming with Demonic Qi.

The tide of disciples spread in every direction, splitting into teams as they pushed deeper into the valley’s heart.

Swords sang. Spears flashed. Roars of Demonic Beasts echoed, cut short by screams of pain.

The battle had begun.

The disciples charged deep into the valley like a flood of blades.

Luo Chen and Wang Tian led at the front, their movements unrestrained even under the crushing three-ton weight. They swung their swords with elegance and lethal efficiency, each stroke severing Demonic Beasts with casual ease. Their figures blurred through the battlefield, golden arcs flashing wherever they moved.

Behind them, Xiao Rui, Lee Bie, Cheng Fang, and Zong Bu demonstrated their own strength. Xiao Rui and Lee Bie coordinated their swordplay like mirrored reflections, while Cheng Fang and Zong Bu clasped fists together.

"Fusion Dragon Fist!"

Their joined strike shook the area. A blinding explosion erupted, many Demonic Beasts were obliterated in bursts of flame and force.

Elsewhere, Lu Fang and Sheng Lu tore through their opponents. Sheng Lu’s blue Hammer crushing beast after beast, while Lu Fang followed with precise blade work. Their strikes thundered like war drums, leaving corpses in their wake.

Su Quan, Muo Qian, Jun Hua, and Xiao Lian formed a deadly team. Their coordination was seamless, their bond unshakable. Su Quan’s Azure Dragon Body and Xiao Lian’s Ice Phoenix Body burst forth, releasing terrifying auras that froze the Demonic Beasts in place. Their enemies quivered under the pressure, only to be struck down mercilessly by Muo Qian and Jun Hua’s swords, which rained upon them like a storm of steel.

Shen Hang thrust his spear high, crimson dragon aura coiling around its shaft.

"Dragon Spear Strike!"

The spear plunged forward, its crimson dragon projection roaring across the battlefield, tearing through a group of Demonic Beasts in one devastating sweep.

All around, the disciples fought valiantly, their teamwork honed through Shaurya’s relentless training.

Floating high in the sky, Shaurya observed with hands in his pockets, a warm smile tugging at his lips. His eyes glimmered with pride as he muttered inwardly:

"Good. Very good..."

Hours passed in bloody frenzy.

By the sixth hour, the valley floor was painted in black and red—demonic blood and flesh littering the earth. The disciples’ robes were torn, their breaths heavy, yet their willpower shone stronger than ever.

Shaurya’s eyes brightened as he watched the kill count climb.

9,939... 9,940... 9,950...

At the 9,997th kill, Wang Tian and Luo Chen severed the wings of a monstrous Demonic Griffin, their golden slashes colliding midair to cleave the beast in two. The carcass crashed into the valley floor, shaking the ground.

The disciples began to regroup, exhaustion etched into their bodies, but hope gleaming in their eyes.

Shaurya’s heart whispered in silent prayer:

"Come on... just three more. Where are you, Demonic Beasts? Stop hiding..."

Wang Tian and Luo Chen glanced around the valley.

"Seems like we slaughtered every beast," Luo Chen remarked.

Wang Tian cracked his neck. "But our mission isn’t complete. Master didn’t tell us to stop. We have to keep searching."

Suddenly, the ground rumbled violently.

Cracks split across the valley floor, and with a deafening roar, two monstrous figures emerged.

A colossal black serpent, its scales glistening with demonic aura, slithered forward, its eyes burning crimson. Alongside it crawled a giant red spider, its eight legs piercing into the earth like spears, its fangs dripping with venom that corroded the ground.

Not far away, Xiao Rui and his group froze as the ground beneath them erupted. A massive one-eyed golem, nearly eighteen feet tall, clawed its way out of the depths. Its stone body radiated Demonic Qi, its single eye glowing with murderous intent.

The valley shook under the monstrous trio’s arrival.

Shaurya’s expression hardened, his voice booming across the battlefield:

"Everyone, only three Demonic Beasts are left! You all can return to the sect, except those facing the beasts!"

Luo Chen smirked, raising his blade. "Two are in front of us. I wonder who’s facing the last one."

Wang Tian chuckled. "Forgot it. Let’s kill these two."

The serpent hissed, its forked tongue flicking in disdain. Telepathically, it spoke with the spider.

"These two are just arrogant human brats. Their arrogance will make them our food."

The spider’s mandibles clicked, its voice sharp. "One for you, one for me. After devouring them, my count will reach 290."

"Hahaha, and mine will hit 300 humans devoured," the serpent replied, its eyes glinting with sinister joy.

The Demonic Spider turned his head towards that demonic Serpent and said.

"Some group of humans had attacked here. Let’s eat these two brats and quickly hide."

Demonic Serpent nooded, takes out his tounge and said.

"You’re right. These are just two brats. Before the group which had attacked here will find us. We have to devour them and quickly hides."

[ Foolish beasts have no idea that they are standing infront of that groups most dangerous two guys.]

They lunged forward.

But before their venom and fangs could reach, two golden slashes tore through the air.

In an instant, the spider was cleaved in half, its body collapsing in twitching chunks, while the serpent’s head rolled free from its massive body, blue blood spraying across the valley.

Wang Tian lowered his sword with disdain. "Tch. What useless Demonic Beasts. I don’t know what they were talking in their minds, but I’m sure they were cursing us."

Luo Chen smirked. "From their expressions, they were looking down on us."

Wang Tian burst into laughter. "Now we’re looking down on their corpses."

Luo Chen gave a thumbs up. "Nice one."

The two of them roared with laughter amidst the corpses of their enemies.

Meanwhile, Xiao Rui’s group faced the towering golem.

The stone beast roared, gathering white energy in its maw. A blazing cannon beam shot forth, splitting the air.

Xiao Rui scoffed, spitting to the side. He raised his hand casually, deflecting the beam with a single sweep. The energy scattered like smoke against the wind.

The golem blinked its one eye in disbelief.

Lee Bie surged forward, his blade glowing with golden brilliance. He swung horizontally, releasing a radiant slash that cut clean through the golem’s waist.

Before the halves could hit the ground, Cheng Fang and Zong Bu charged.

"Dragon Fist!"

Dragon energy released from both of thier fists, strike smashed the separated halves, reducing the beast to rubble in a thunderous explosion.

The four high-fived, grinning with exhilaration.

From the skies, Shaurya laughed with unrestrained joy.

[Ding... Congratulations Host. Mission Complete. 10,000 Demonic Beasts slain within 24 hours.

Reward: Sect Mission Hall (Unlocked).

Ding... Additional Reward: Mission completed within 7 hours. 100 Dharma Points awarded.]

Shaurya’s eyes lit up, his lips curling into an ecstatic grin.

"That’s great! You’re not heartless after all, Systu."

The system’s monotone voice replied bluntly:

[Well, technically, I am heartless, bodiless, and everything-less... except brain. And you, Host, have everything except brain.]

Shaurya’s face darkened, veins popping. He was about to explode in anger when a gentle hand rested on his shoulder. Lin Shu’s calm voice steadied him.

"Our disciples did it... In just a short time."

Shaurya froze, then blushed faintly. His anger dissolved into a tender smile.

"Yeah... You’re right."

The elders and disciples regrouped. Exhausted, their bodies battered, yet their faces shone with pride.

Together, they returned to the sect—victors of an impossible trial.
