I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan
Chapter 145 A Billion Little Bits
CHAPTER 145: CHAPTER 145 A BILLION LITTLE BITS
This! This isn’t just a ’little bit’! It’s a billion!
Holy shit! What kind of family background does this guy have?! One person just dropped a billion mililiters!
Su Yi felt her scalp tingle.
The audience in the livestream, however, was completely confused.
"What’s going on?"
"Why does Three Cent look like she’s seen a ghost?"
"What did Three Cent see?"
"Show us, too!"
Of course, Su Yi wasn’t going to show everyone. It took her a great deal of effort to calm her nerves before she finally nodded.
"Well... alright then. But we don’t need that," she said.
Xia Liang naturally knew what ’that’ referred to: the commission.
"You have to take it," Xia Liang said immediately. "Otherwise, I’ll find someone else."
Seeing this, Su Yi had no choice but to nod reluctantly, which left the audience in the livestream completely baffled.
"?????"
"What the heck is going on?"
"Did something happen?"
"Whoa, is this some shady, under-the-table deal?"
Facing the questions from the livestream, neither of them explained.
"Alright, if that’s the case, I’m logging off now," Xia Liang said.
As he spoke, he left the stream amid a flood of "Farewell, Big Brother Xia" comments in the bullet chat.
Not long after, Su Yi also ended her livestream.
After receiving Xia Liang’s account information, Su Yi didn’t hesitate. She calculated her tiny commission, keeping only 3,500 mililiters for herself, and transferred the rest to the account Xia Liang had given her.
It was terrifying to think about the potential earnings. If 3.5 Yuan equaled 35,000 mililiters, then 35 Yuan would be 350,000 mililiters, and 350 Yuan would be 3,500,000 mililiters.
Xia Liang had topped up 1,000 Yuan.
Even if the platform took half, her commission would still be 5 Yuan.
The scale of it was simply terrifying.
Meanwhile, Xia Liang saw the transfer of over 340 million mililiters arrive in his account and nodded in satisfaction.
He really didn’t care about the money itself. This was mainly a test for Su Yi.
If she had been greedy and kept the money, then she truly would have become one of Luu Qi’s "sisters-in-law."
Don’t disappoint me, okay? Xia Liang said softly to himself.
He sent a "goodnight" message, then turned off his phone and drifted off to sleep.
Used to being woken up by someone else, this time, Xia Liang slept straight through until the next afternoon.
When he came out of his room, he found no one around. He saw a note that Xi Yiqian had left for him on the table.
"Qiqi and I have gone to work. I figured you’d be exhausted after coming back so late yesterday, so I wanted to let you sleep in and didn’t wake you. I made some glutinous rice balls; they’re in the fridge. Remember to eat when you get up."
Looking at the elegant handwriting, a warm feeling flooded Xia Liang’s heart.
Humming a little tune, Xia Liang went to cook the glutinous rice balls Xi Yiqian had made for him. After eating twenty-five of them, he patted his belly in satisfaction.
Just as he was about to head to work, he got a call from Qingxue.
Xia Liang answered.
On the other end of the line, Qingxue’s slightly panicked voice came through.
"Hello... Hello, Xia Liang, are you free?"
Hearing this, Xia Liang grabbed the yellow uniform jacket hanging on the balcony.
"That depends on why you’re asking," he replied.
"You!"
Here we go again!
Xia Liang’s response was as impeccably irritating as ever. Qingxue took a couple of deep breaths to calm herself down.
"Can’t you just say yes for once?"
"Hehe, nope."
His tone was still infuriatingly cheeky, but thankfully, Qingxue had built up a resistance to it.
"Are you free during the National Day holiday? My family is planning a trip, and we were wondering if you’d like to join us?" she asked, waiting with a hint of expectation for his reply.
Is she crazy? If it were a trip for just the two of us, I might consider it. But going on a trip with her entire family? No thanks. Why would I go looking for trouble?
Xia Liang refused immediately.
"Nope, I’m busy."
Even though she suspected Xia Liang would say no, his blunt response still made Qingxue roll her eyes.
"Can’t you come up with a better excuse?"
"A better excuse? Isn’t ’I’m busy’ good enough?"
Clearly, Xia Liang thought his reason was perfect.
"You! Hmph!"
Frustrated, Qingxue huffed. If my mom hadn’t told me to at least try inviting you, I would never have bothered with a dimwit like you! she thought as she hung up the phone.
Seeing that the call had been disconnected, Xia Liang didn’t have much of a reaction, nor did he care that Qingxue was angry. This was a common occurrence, after all. She’d get mad, and she’d get over it.
Putting on his imperial yellow robe, Xia Liang also headed out.
He first made a stop at the villa to lighten his load, then started his food delivery shift.
However, it seemed like his luck had run out ever since he became a delivery driver. He didn’t trigger a single hidden task all afternoon.
Just as Xia Liang was about to deliver his last order and head home, a voice called out.
"Hey, isn’t that Xia Liang?"
Hearing someone call his name, Xia Liang turned his head. He saw a man with slicked-back hair, dressed in a sharp suit.
"Hm? Yang-dog?" Xia Liang blinked, recognizing the man.
It was Luoyang, his high school classmate. He always loved to show off back in school, and after graduating, Fatty had told him that Luoyang was constantly flaunting his wealth in their class group chat. The two had never gotten along, and Luoyang had often targeted Xia Liang, though he never managed to get the upper hand.
Initially, Luoyang was extremely annoyed at being called "Yang-dog." However, when he took in Xia Liang’s appearance—clearly not doing well for himself—a mocking smile appeared on his lips.
"Yo, Xia Liang, doing pretty well for yourself, I see. Dressed in an imperial robe, feasting every day."
Xia Liang, however, acted as if he didn’t understand the jab. "Of course. I’ve basically become an emperor. With a voice as shrill as yours, you must have become the chief eunuch, right?"
Hearing this, Luoyang’s mouth twitched. He knew perfectly well that Xia Liang was calling him a eunuch.
I can’t believe he’s still so sharp-tongued and shameless. Looks like I can’t win an argument against him alone, Luoyang thought.
An idea suddenly struck him.
"Say, Xia Liang, it’s been a while. I’m getting some of our high school classmates together tonight at Splendor Entertainment City. Are you coming?"
Suddenly, Xia Liang was interested.
"A class reunion? Is everyone going?"
Although he didn’t know why Xia Liang was asking, Luoyang nodded, eager to get him to attend.
"Yeah, pretty much everyone will be there."
"Alright, I’ll be there tonight."
Seeing Xia Liang agree so readily, Luoyang was stunned. He had already planned out how to back Xia Liang into a corner and force him to agree, yet he had done so willingly.
That works, too. Saves me the trouble, he thought with a smirk. Hmph! Just wait until tonight. We’ll see how I deal with you then.
Watching Xia Liang leave, Luoyang couldn’t help but call out a reminder.
"Remember, 8:00 p.m. at Splendor KTV, Room 10! I’ve booked it!"
"Got it!" Xia Liang replied nonchalantly.
He was well aware of Luoyang’s malicious intentions but paid them no mind. He was only going because he genuinely wanted to see some old friends.
「In the evening, at eight o’clock.」
Inside Room 10 at Splendor, most of Xia Liang’s classmates had already arrived. In the center of the crowd, one person was surrounded by everyone.
This person was none other than Luoyang.
