CHAPTER 26: 26TH CHAPTER: RECEIVING THE VILLA

Seeing that the room was left so clean, the landlady had no intention of making things difficult for Xia Liang and gladly returned his deposit.

Once downstairs, Xia Liang saw a silver sports car. It went without saying that this was the Lamborghini Veneno rewarded by the System.

By this time, a crowd had already gathered at the entrance, gawking.

"Whoa, this car is just too cool! Absolutely awesome."

"Can anyone tell me what kind of car this is?"

"The internet says it’s a Lamborghini Veneno! The price is over 45 million yuan!"

"Damn! A 45-million-yuan car! Which tycoon has the guts to just park it by the roadside like this? Aren’t they worried about it getting scratched or bumped?"

"If it gets bumped, that would cost at least tens of thousands, wouldn’t it?"

"Tens of thousands? Dream on! Even a single chip in the paint would cost a few hundred thousand at least!"

"Damn, isn’t that a whole Mercedes gone just like that?"

"Everyone, keep your distance."

"Yeah, yeah, stand back to look."

"Ma’am! Get a hold of your grandson! If he scratches that, it could cost your family ten years of hard work!"

"Who do you guys think owns this car? Has anyone seen the owner?"

"I so want to marry a tycoon like that."

"Heh, someone who can afford this kind of sports car must be a multi-millionaire at least! Why would he even look at you?"

"I’d be happy just to be his maid, doing laundry and cooking for him."

As the crowd buzzed with discussion, Xia Liang walked over. He had underestimated the allure of a supercar; his car was completely mobbed.

Seeing how interested everyone was, Xia Liang waited for a while. However, after ten minutes, the crowd hadn’t shrunk at all—in fact, it was growing. Xia Liang finally spoke up.

"Excuse me, could you all please make way? I need to get through."

Hearing this, the crowd turned to glance at him, then immediately turned back to the car.

"If you want to look, wait your turn. I haven’t had enough yet."

"Exactly, let me take a few more pictures."

"My social media post for today is sorted!"

Watching them turn away again, Xia Liang felt a deep sense of helplessness.

Are they forcing me to flex?

At this thought, Xia Liang sighed and spoke again, his voice louder this time.

"Please, everyone, make way! This car is mine, and I need to leave."

!!!!

As soon as he said this, the entire crowd fell silent. They turned their heads once more to size up Xia Liang. After a moment, someone broke the silence.

"Holy cow, buddy, you’re full of it."

"Hey kid, do you have any idea this is a supercar worth tens of millions? If you scratch it, can you afford to pay for the damages?"

"Look at your outfit. You bought it off Taobao, right? If you’re going to put on an act, at least spend a little on some decent knockoffs! Are you planning to sell a kidney?"

Listening to the crowd’s doubtful remarks, Xia Liang even started to question himself.

Maybe I really should buy some decent clothes.

Shaking his head to clear the thought, he decided to deal with the crowd first. With that in mind, Xia Liang didn’t argue. He simply took out the car key and pressed a button in front of everyone.

BEEP! BEEP!

The headlights on the Lamborghini Veneno flashed to life. Everyone stared at Xia Liang as if they’d seen a ghost, especially the guy who had been the most sarcastic.

Xia Liang walked forward as the crowd instinctively parted to let him through. He paused and patted the sarcastic young man on the shoulder.

"Bro, this car? Even if I smashed it and bought a new one, I wouldn’t need to sell a kidney."

Hearing this, the young man’s face instantly went from green to purple. Xia Liang paid him no more mind. He casually spent 15 of his freshly earned Work Points to purchase God-level Driving.

He opened the car door and drove off without a backward glance. As Xia Liang left, the remaining crowd finally snapped out of their shock.

"What the heck?"

"What just happened?"

"Are all rich people this low-key nowadays?"

"Yeah, I swear I saw him walk out of that cheap rental building with my own two eyes."

Xia Liang drove straight to the Qingjiu Villa District. As soon as he reached the entrance, a security guard hurried over and knocked on his window. When the window rolled down, the guard spoke with a deferential nod and bow.

"Excuse me, sir, are you a resident here?"

Xia Liang nodded calmly. "I bought a property here not long ago but haven’t completed the check-in procedures yet."

Hearing this, the guard, Zhang Chi, immediately waved to his colleague at the gate. Normally, they would need to verify his identity, but as a guard in a place like this, Zhang Chi had seen enough to know better. This car alone was worth more than a villa inside. Would someone of that status need to lie?

As the gate opened, Zhang Chi enthusiastically gave directions. "After you enter, sir, take a left. The first building you see is the residential services office where you can handle the check-in procedures."

"Mm, thank you."

As Xia Liang thanked him, the guard straightened his back and spoke with renewed fervor. "It’s my duty, sir. Please don’t hesitate to find me if you need anything at all."

Xia Liang nodded and drove into the Qingjiu Villa District, the most upscale residential community in Qingyun City. The area boasted cobblestone paths, fountains with crystal-clear water, and lush, shady trees. Xia Liang parked his car where the guard had indicated and went into the building to complete his paperwork.

Inside, several staff members sat at computers in a serene environment decorated with coffee tables, marble flooring, and air conditioning. Best of all, gentle sunlight streamed through the large windows.

As Xia Liang walked in, an employee quickly approached him. She was dressed in a black business suit that hugged her curvaceous figure, and her delicate features and red-rimmed glasses gave her the air of a powerful career woman.

"Sir, are you here to complete the check-in procedures?"

"Yes."

Upon receiving Xia Liang’s affirmative reply, Zhou Ruo offered a slight smile. "Right this way, please, sir."

With that, she led Xia Liang to handle the procedures, her service attitude impeccable. During the process, several of the female staff were making eyes at him. Xia Liang had no doubt that if he so much as crooked a finger, they would line up to jump into his bed.

After the paperwork was completed, Zhou Ruo escorted Xia Liang out, ready to show him to his villa. As they left, the employees in the office burst into a commotion.

"Oh my God! He’s so handsome! And rich! I wish he was my boyfriend."

Hearing this, a more senior staff member commented, "And that’s not all. He bought the villa in the very center of our district."

"No way! You don’t mean the one worth a hundred million yuan?"

"So many rich people have wanted to buy that villa, but it’s gone unsold for two years."

"Good grief. This is beyond just being rich."

"If I could spend a night with him in that villa, I’d die a happy woman!"

"Keep dreaming. I wonder if Zhou Ruo will get her chance."

...

Meanwhile, Zhou Ruo got into Xia Liang’s car. As they drove toward the villa, Xia Liang couldn’t help but give the service a mental thumbs-up.
