I can no longer hide the fact that I’m secretly dating a senior

Chapter 17 – “Hubby, See You at School Tomorrow—Mwah!”
This was a very ordinary restaurant—practically street-stall level.
In fact, with the amount of money in Ye Fei’s bank account, forget a five-star dinner,
He could fly abroad and treat Zheng Wanqing to French cuisine, And still have plenty left!
But the mission wasn’t over yet.
He still had to keep pretending to be poor.
Before entering the restaurant, Ye Fei said,
“Wife, I don’t have much money on me, and you know my family’s always been poor.”
“You, on the other hand, grew up as a pampered heiress, dining on bird’s nest and shark fin.”
“I brought you here for some noodles—will you be disappointed?”
Zheng Wanqing covered her mouth and giggled.
“Hubby, what are you talking about? I’m just happy you brought me to eat—why would I be disappointed?”
She tapped Ye Fei’s forehead with her finger. “You’re so silly.”
“Alright, let’s go in. I’m starving.”
Inside the restaurant, Ye Fei asked,
“Wife, what do you want to eat? As long as it’s under twenty yuan, anything’s fine.”
As soon as he said that, Customers at nearby tables stared at them in disbelief.
No way!
This guy’s that stingy?
He won’t even spend more than twenty?
Unreal!
*A real iron rooster.*¹
How did such a cheapskate land such a beautiful wife?
What a joke!
Zheng Wanqing nodded, “Anything is fine, I’m not picky—I’m easy to feed!”
“You order. I’ll eat whatever you eat!”
Ye Fei told the waiter, “Two bowls of zhajiang noodles, please.”
The waiter looked speechless but forced a professional smile. “Alright, sir and miss, please wait.”
Entering the kitchen, the waiter said,
“Brother Wang, two bowls of zhajiang noodles for Table 9.”
“Got it!” a chubby chef responded quickly.
“What’s wrong, girl?” he asked.
The waitress replied, “Don’t even ask. Just took an order from Table 9—ridiculous.”
“Brought his wife to eat and was so stingy.”
“If he wasn’t good-looking, I would’ve been judging him in my heart right then.”
“…”
Though they were getting side-eyes and whispers all around, Zheng Wanqing didn’t mind.
She knew Ye Fei’s background, and besides, they were still college students.
No steady income yet.
So she didn’t think it was a big deal.
After a while, the noodles arrived.
Zheng Wanqing was starving—she picked up her chopsticks and started eating immediately.
“How is it? Tasty?” Ye Fei asked.
Zheng Wanqing nodded while chewing. “Mm-hmm, small place, but pretty good cooking. Almost as good as mine!”
“Hubby, next time I’ll make noodles for you!”
Ye Fei was just about to eat, but froze mid-motion.
“Huh?”
Zheng Wanqing asked innocently, “What’s wrong, hubby? I said I’d make noodles for you next time. What’s the problem?”
“Honestly, I’m really good at it!”
“Not bragging or anything. You’ll see once you try it.”
Ye Fei blushed. He had clearly misunderstood.
What a dirty mind.
Zheng Wanqing lowered her head and kept eating. She was so hungry, her eating wasn’t exactly graceful.
But in front of Ye Fei, she didn’t care about appearances.
After all— Ye Fei was her husband now!
Would she still need to act all proper in front of her own husband?
Of course not!
“I’m full.” She put down her bowl and chopsticks and checked her phone.
It was already past six in the evening.
“Hubby, can you walk me home later? I need to return the household register before my parents find out.”
“No problem,” Ye Fei nodded.
After finishing the noodles, they left the restaurant.
Two bowls—twenty yuan in total.
Ye Fei and Zheng Wanqing walked side by side down the city streets at dusk.
“So, are you full?” Ye Fei asked.
“Yup.” Zheng Wanqing nodded.
“Oh right, hubby. Weekend’s coming. Let’s go out together!”
Zheng Wanqing said, “I used to put all my focus on studying.”
“But now, I’m your wife!”
“So I can’t ignore my hubby just for school, right?”
Ye Fei smiled. “Wife, you’re being so thoughtful today!”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Zheng Wanqing asked, “You mean I wasn’t thoughtful before?”
“No way! My wife’s always the most considerate!”
“Exactly—I think so too!”
“Hahaha!”
The two of them joked and laughed as they walked near Zheng Wanqing’s villa.
“Alright hubby, this is far enough. See you at school tomorrow—bye bye! Mwah!”
She kissed Ye Fei on the cheek, then turned to enter the villa.
But before parting, she reminded him:
“Hubby, remember to miss me!”
Then she happily went inside.
Planning to quietly sneak the household register back while no one was home.
But unexpectedly— Her parents and sister were all in the living room!
As if they had been waiting a long time.
What the heck!
Why are they back so early?
Didn’t they say they’d be late?
Could it be… they found out about the stolen household register?!
