CHAPTER 329: TRADING FAIR

Taking Nash’s order, Skylar quietly snuck into the trade fair the Aqua Team had convened.

"No need to hide. The Aqua Team guarantees this place as a safe zone. Even it was one of the top five teams, they wouldn’t dare cause trouble here."

Suddenly, just before Skylar sneaked in, a voice sounded behind him.

Startled, Skylar instinctively activated his genetic ability, instantly retreating a distance.

"Oh? So fast. Is this your confidence sneaking up here?"

"Who are you?"

"I’m Kaius, the twelfth in command of the Aqua Team, tasked with welcoming all other cosmic teams and making them feel at home," Kaius introduced with a bow.

"Fourth in command?"

Skylar couldn’t even sense Kaius’s strength, yet he was only the twelfth in command? As expected of one of the top five teams in the cosmic competition.

"No need to fear. We genuinely want to set up a safe space to help others survive in this cosmic competition."

"Why are you even doing this?"

"Of course, it’s to prepare for the Galactic Level Cosmic Competition. The more cosmic teams survive, the stronger the Solaris Domain will be in the coming competition."

"Is that so? Then can I see what’s inside?" Skylar nodded, not believing a word of his statement.

However, confirming that he wasn’t malicious for the time being, Skylar stopped hiding.

"Of course, you’re welcome. Any cosmic team can trade here peacefully."

"That’s good." Skylar nodded as he entered full of caution.

---

Inside, Skylar saw representatives from other cosmic teams manning stalls with materials they wanted to trade.

There were rare items, information about resource points, high-tier dark technology, and more.

Some were even exchanging Tier 5 war weapons for other resources.

Seeing this, Skylar couldn’t help but be tempted.

A Tier 5 war weapon was equivalent to a nuclear bomb; having one or not made all the difference.

What’s more, while their own war machine was slow, the others had more moderate speeds.

Buying one or two such weapons could drastically change their marching speed.

Relaying the information to Nash, Skylar quickly received the follow-up order to buy one.

Even if they had to trade two of the Obsidian Devastators for one, Nash gave him the green light to trade.

Receiving the order, Skylar quickly walked up to the stall that sold what they needed.

"How do you trade this Tier 5 war weapon of yours?"

"It’s three thousand Tier 4 weapons for one."

"Are you kidding me?" Skylar was speechless.

By comparison, just 1,000 Tier 4 war weapons were more than enough to exchange for a Tier 5 one.

Hearing the price was thrice as much, Skylar nearly drew his sword out of frustration.

Fortunately, remembering he was not in their territory, he held back.

"Can’t you make it cheaper? Furthermore, can we trade out a Tier 5 war weapon instead?"

"Sure, what war weapon do you have?"

"The Obsidian Devastator. Do you know this model?"

"Huh? That turtle tractor? Are you kidding me? Who would be foolish enough to trade for that?"

It wasn’t that the Obsidian Devastator was cheaper; in fact, it was a little more expensive. The problem was that its abilities were too limited, making it a mismatch for this kind of competition.

"I’m willing to add Tier 4 war weapons to the mix."

"Oh? Then give me 2,000 Tier 4 war weapons and that Obsidian Blaster of yours, and the trade’s a deal."

"Impossible! That’s even more outrageous than the last price!" Having enough, Skylar walked out, barely holding back his anger.

Having been born a noble, how could he tolerate such utter humiliation?

"Heh, let’s see if you can sell your junk here. I’m already being generous, yet you’re being ignorant~"

Hearing the mockery, Skylar shot him a cold glare, memorizing the man’s face in his mind.

Once there was a chance, he would chop off his head and kick it like a ball.

Calming his anger, Skylar continued to walk and browsed for other similar Tier 5 war weapons.

Fortunately, after visiting a few stalls, Skylar finally found someone willing to trade reasonably.

Exchanging four Obsidian Devastators for three different models of war weapons with decent speed, Skylar concluded the negotiation.

"Where do you want to exchange? Do you have the war weapons with you?" the seller asked.

"Let’s trade here. The items are still with my teammates. I’ll get them for you in a few hours," Skylar replied.

"That’s fine, I’ll wait for you."

"Thanks..."

Wrapping up his investigation, Skylar quickly bolted away from the trading zone, circling around to lose any potential stalkers.

He even activated his ability, disappearing in place as if time had stopped.

After doing this a couple of times, Skylar was confident no one in this competition could tail him.

---

"Welcome back. How’s the situation over there?" Nash asked.

"Not bad. It really does seem like a place to trade," Skylar concluded.

Seeing that most of the cosmic teams seemed used to such a scene, Skylar deduced that these types of trades must be a regular occurrence.

"What about any formidable individuals, besides that twelfth in command?"

"No, it seems the trading zone was just one of their platforms."

"I see," Nash nodded, understanding the Aqua Team’s strategy.

On one hand, it was to help more cosmic teams to survive. On the other, it was to earn wealth and gather as much information about other teams as possible.

Doing this perfectly while still maintaining a good reputation, the top teams were indeed in a different league.

While they were still struggling in the Domain Level Cosmic Competition, the top teams were already preparing for the next.

"How’s it, Nash? Do we proceed with the trade?"

"Go ahead, why not? This will allow us to reach our next destination faster, saving us precious time," Nash agreed without hesitation.

No matter what the Aqua Team’s scheme was, it wouldn’t have any immediate effect on them.

Instead, it could even serve as a platform to further strengthen themselves.

Thinking of all the resource points they had found that were unusable, Nash considered using them to trade for some materials.

"This should be feasible..."
