I Can Program My Body?
Chapter 37: First Mission
CHAPTER 37: FIRST MISSION
"Are you sure?!" Chloe snorted, releasing her pressure toward Nash.
If she hadn’t been interested in such a handsome man, she would never have lowered herself to recruit someone from another squad.
"No, I’ve already decided to stay with the Crimson Phoenix Squad for the rest of my life," Nash insisted.
Nash could still tolerate Camilla because of her appearance, but Chloe was another matter.
Although void energy nourished her body, making it smooth and youthful, it couldn’t hide her true features.
Nash had to admit he was biased against unattractive people.
Having gotten used to his appearance and Camilla’s, his tastes had become a bit picky.
"You! Fine! But be careful with your life!" Chloe said coldly, having been rejected twice by the same person.
If they hadn’t been on the Crimson Gang base, she might have killed Nash out of frustration.
Seeing the "peach disaster" finally leave, Nash heaved a sigh of relief.
"I didn’t expect you to be so loyal," Camilla said, gripping his shoulder.
"Captain, take it easy. I’d never leave you for another woman,"
"Hmph! You better not, or I’ll kill you, even if it’s the last thing I do!"
Seeing the two flirt and bicker again, Hector and the others just rolled their eyes.
If not for the lack of intimacy, they might have thought the two were in a relationship.
Just as they were about to continue talking, the projection suddenly changed, showing the Earth.
"What is that?"
As they questioned what was on the projection, the Earth rotated, zooming in on the Atral state.
Beside the image were the names of Arleanian and Earthling officials.
Seeing the obvious bloody marks, they finally understood what it was for—their mission, the people they needed to kill.
After a while, the projection finished changing, turning into a mission interface with various targets and corresponding contribution points.
Their phone also vibrated, showing an additional application.
"It’s starting, huh?" Nash thought, realizing chaos was about to sweep through Earth.
In the few-second projection of Earth, Nash saw four highlighted states: The Atral State, The Eytah State, The Yore State, and Kota State.
If Nash remembered correctly, these four states were the only places on Earth with spaceship launching pads.
Conquering these four states would mean trapping the Arleanians on Earth without escape.
If they further blocked the signal transmission in these places, it would give them enough time to conquer Earth.
With 27 organizations targeting the four states on Earth and other planets in the solar system, it was a foolproof plan to expel the Arlean Civilization.
Thinking of the chaos that was about to ensue, Nash knew he had to quickly strengthen himself.
The first step was to earn contribution points to exchange for various resources.
"Have you chosen our target, Captain?" Nash asked, noticing Camilla’s intent focus on the mission list.
"Hmm, Landon City. The Arleanian Mayor, Ferris, and I still have an unfinished grudge. Besides, I’m more familiar with Landon City,"
While managing the Steel Bone Gang, Camilla had faced countless troubles from Ferris.
Now, with the convenience of this mission, she could finally settle the score.
"If you say so."
Hector and the others had no objections and also agreed.
"Then let’s go."
Accepting the mission on their phones, they quickly set off.
---
Taking their flying car, they arrived at Landon City in just a few hours.
Under the peaceful night sky, Nash and the others quickly reached the core of the city.
Going to a high vantage point, Nash took out his B3 sniper rifle and watched as Camilla and the others ran toward the Landon City Arleanian Embassy.
To avoid being too high-profile and to ensure his safety, Nash committed to the role of long-range sniper support.
Watching Camilla and the others fight their way in, Nash stayed on standby, waiting for the big fish to show itself.
Nash’s bullets were reserved for Void Warriors.
With most of the Arleanians in the embassy being mortals, Nash didn’t need to take action.
As for the bloody scene of Camilla and the others butchering their way through, Nash was unaffected.
Oppressing Earth for over a hundred years, the Arleanians didn’t deserve any sympathy.
Nash didn’t feel anger or hatred toward them.
This was simply a war between civilizations—there was only victory or defeat, not right or wrong.
Soon, seeing a Void Warrior arrive on the scene, Nash became serious, focusing on the target.
"Target locked... ready to fire," Nash reported into the intercom.
The [Combat Module System] wasn’t only for close-range fights; Nash had also encoded it with long-range target locking and analysis.
As long as his target wasn’t beyond his reaction range, Nash was confident he could kill a Void Warrior as many as he had bullets.
"Don’t fire yet; the mayor hasn’t shown up," Camilla said, having a different plan.
"Roger that."
Releasing the trigger, Nash leisurely watched as Camilla easily beat the assailant Void Warrior.
Sparring with him for over five years, even if she hadn’t beaten him fairly once, Camilla’s combat ability still improved by leaps and bounds.
Camilla could kill someone with a higher saturation rate, much less a Void Warrior at a lower rank.
After dealing with the small fries, the mayor, Ferris, finally arrived.
"Camilla! How dare you attack us! Even if you’re from the Crimson Gang, I won’t forgive you!" Ferris shouted in anger.
"Too bad, I don’t care about the forgiveness of the dead," Camilla said mockingly.
"Hmph! We’ll see who’s dead!" Ferris shouted, dashing toward Camilla in the blink of an eye.
"This! Over 20% saturation rate?!" Camilla muttered in surprise, seeing the result of the scouter.
Landon City was one of the lowest-ranked cities in the Atral State. Ferris’ having a 20% saturation rate was a surprise.
"Now die!"
Seeing the attack, Camilla dodged flexibly, waiting for the signal to fire.
"This might take a little longer, Camilla. Hold on..." Nash said in the intercom as his mind began working in overdrive, analyzing Ferris’s movement patterns.
"How long?"
"A minute."
"A minute? How familiar..."
