CHAPTER 40: RAIDING THE TRAINING CENTER

Knowing Charlotte and Elijah’s predicament, Nash hurriedly returned to his squad to call for backup.

These two were among the few friends he had in this world, and he didn’t want anything to happen to them.

Hearing his story, the Crimson Phoenix Squad was enraged.

Nash’s friends were also theirs. How dare a bunch of gangs bully them?

"The Earth Horizon Alliance is meant for the common prosperity of Earth; they shouldn’t be targeting the talents we have!" Camilla said indignantly, as they armed themselves to raid the Atral Training Center.

As for the Virtual World they had been excited about, that excitement turned to anger upon discovering they couldn’t connect to the Void Network.

If not for Nash’s issue, they might have rushed to the higher-ups to complain about being scammed and having their hopes built up for nothing.

With the whole squad in tow, they rushed to the Atral Training Center in just a few minutes.

The Atral Training Center was a private facility reserved for fighters for the Cosmic competition.

Equipped with advanced technology and training facilities, it looked grand and imposing from afar.

As their flying car approached, the guard station hurriedly stopped them.

"This area is off-limits. Only selected individuals and squads are allowed to pass."

"Move aside," Nash said coldly through the intercom.

He didn’t want to waste time with these meaningless formalities; every minute and second was endangering the lives of his friends.

"What did you say? We are the Iron Wall Squad, not some dogs you can just shoo away."

"One last warning..." Nash repeated, taking out his sniper rifle and aiming at their squad leader, a Void Warrior.

Feeling his instincts screaming with danger, the Iron Wall captain quickly sobered up and took a careful look at them.

"It’s the Crimson Phoenix Squad," the captain muttered, recognizing their insignia.

"Let them in."

"But Captain—"

"Let them in if you don’t want to die. This isn’t our jurisdiction."

Helpless, the guards stepped aside to let the car pass.

"You’re lucky you’re obedient," Amber jeered from the side.

Seeing Nash’s cold expression, as if a volcano was about to erupt, even their captain, Camilia, didn’t speak.

It was the first time the squad had seen Nash like this.

Thinking of the combat prowess of Nash, whoever was at fault and dared to hinder them would suffer.

Raiding the training center, they saw children, staff, and instructors locked in cells.

While most were in decent condition, some bore bruises, and a few had broken arms.

As for the Arleanians, their dead body were being dragged out of the place.

With the kill-on-sight order from the organization, there is no room for the Arleanian on Earth now.

Seeing Nash and the others marching with such confidence, no one foolishly tried to stop them.

Their duty was to guard the people inside and prevent them from escaping, nothing more.

There were only hundreds of people in the training center, so it was easy to find the room where Charlotte and Elijah were being held.

"Brother Nash!" Charlotte shouted upon seeing him.

"Are you hurt?"

"No, they just locked us up. They didn’t do anything."

"I’m glad you’re okay. Where’s your brother?"

"Brother Elijah is in the room, and my grandfather..." Charlotte mumbled, tearing up.

In the galactic era, scientists were in high demand, sometimes even more valuable than top fighters.

Charlotte’s grandfather, Arthur, was a top scientist on Earth, his importance surpassing even the prodigies trained by the government.

When Arthur was detained, Elijah erupted in fury, fighting the intruders regardless of the danger to his life.

Being beaten up to unconsciousness, Charlotte had been devastated and reached out to Nash, the only person she could think of.

"Don’t worry, I’m here," Nash reassured her, seeing Elijah unconscious on the bed.

Fortunately, Elijah’s chest was still moving regularly, making him heave a sigh of relief.

"Huh? Cousin? Why are you here?" Charlotte muttered in shock, seeing Camilla.

"Took you long enough. I thought you’d forgotten about me."

"How could I? I’d remember you even if you turned into bones!" Charlotte shouted, shivering as she remembered the bullying Camilla had done to them.

"You brat, after you arrived in the Atral City, you didn’t even contact me? If not for Grandfather telling me, I thought you two would still be in the Landon City."

"If you knew we were here, why didn’t you visit us?"

"I’m busy~"

"You— "

Hearing their interaction, Nash was a little surprised.

He hadn’t realized they were related. Thinking back, it made sense now why Camilla had agreed so easily to raid the place and had even been a little impatient.

"All right, that’s enough. Emily, take care of Elijah," Camilla said, rolling her eyes at Charlotte’s dramatics.

After administering a mid-grade healing potion, Elijah slowly regained consciousness.

"Brother Nash, what are you doing here?" Elijah mumbled, still in a dazed.

"Get up. We’re going to get your grandfather," Nash declared with a smile.

"Grandfather!"

---

Under Elijah’s guidance, they began marching toward Arthur’s cell.

On the way, anyone who stopped them was sent to the ground.

They didn’t care about any repercussions and just wanted to rescue their friends.

In the core of the training center, two Void Warriors guarded the entrance.

"Stop! What are you doing here?" one of the guards, Celo, barked.

Unlike the previous guards, these two exuded a strong aura with saturation rates around 13-14%.

"We’re here to retrieve Professor Arthur, my grandfather," Camilla ordered, showing the insignia of the Crimson Phoenix Squad.

"We don’t care what squad you’re from or if you’re related to the person," The other guard, Robin, insisted, blocking the entrance with an air of defiance.

"It seems you won’t let us through. Nash, I’ll leave one to you."

"Leave it to me."

Though Nash only had a 9% saturation rate, he was no pushover.

"Let me help, Brother Nash," Elijah said solemnly.

Elijah was one of the most talented prodigies of the Earth Alliance’s seedling project.

Becoming a Void Warrior at the age of ten, Elijah broke all records, becoming the youngest Earthling to transcend the extraordinary realm.

If not for the chaos with the Earth Government Alliance and the Arleans’ rule about to collapse, Elijah would probably be all over the news, hailed as a rising hero.

"Sure, try to keep up. Let me see your progress..."
