CHAPTER 261: CHAPTER 259: VEHICLE SECOND UPGRADE

A relative in the village who used to be a carpenter made him a workbench, and after spending a few hundred points for a casual upgrade, Chen Xin processed all the raw materials intended for upgrading the heating system and the greenhouse into corresponding components.

With these components, the upgrade of the heating system and the modification of the greenhouse were also smoothly completed, earning Chen Xin a substantial income of survival points.

The conditions in the vehicle were much better than those in the shelter. His parents had already stayed on the vehicle for a few days, and now Chen Xin finally couldn’t resist moving back himself.

Once moved back, however, Chen Xin found there were still some inconveniences.

Although there were other people on the vehicle when they arrived, they were strangers; allowing them a place to sleep was generous enough, and Chen Xin himself could sleep on the most comfortable bed in the vehicle without any inconvenience.

But with his parents on board, Chen Xin had to give them the most comfortable double bed at the rear, while he either slept on the sofa or the double bed on the roof, which was inconvenient with his fractured hand and uncomfortable on the sofa.

Adding to the mix, being over thirty and staying with his parents brought its own lifestyle inconveniences, reinforcing Chen Xin’s determination to modify the vehicle further.

After a rough night on the rooftop bed, Chen Xin could no longer bother saving survival points by gathering materials; with over twenty-thousand survival points in reserve and more than three hundred points in daily income, he confidently planned to spend them on upgrading his vehicle.

This upgrade, Chen Xin didn’t intend to alter the car’s main structure, only aiming to upgrade the living cabin and adjust some functional areas to make living more comfortable and spacious.

In Chen Xin’s plan, he didn’t intend to modify the front of the vehicle, only to expand and raise the rear living cabin.

The expansion and raising of the living cabin would affect tracks, power systems, and circuitry, but fortunately, the omnipotent system could handle these. Chen Xin only needed to conceptualize his modifications.

Now, Chen Xin didn’t plan to touch the sofa area in the living cabin but wanted to move the kitchenette from the cabin’s mid-section to the front end, aligning it with the sofa.

The door originally at the cabin’s front was moved backward, repositioned to the vehicle’s mid-section, shifting from directly opposite the sofa to the sofa’s rear side.

This adjustment made the cabin space slightly more compact while freeing up rear space for Chen Xin’s next modification step.

According to Chen Xin’s concept, the living cabin wouldn’t have open double beds but individual closed spaces inspired by space capsule beds.

The double bed at the rear position would be retained, and after adjustment, Chen Xin planned to make it a semi-reclining space for two, equipped with mirrors, air-conditioning, shelves, hat hooks, a small cabinet, and lighting.

Due to the height increase, there was another chamber of the same design above this double chamber.

Additionally, Chen Xin reserved a total of four single chambers with the same structure and interior design, but each accommodating only one person.

Two single chambers were placed next to the door, against the cabin wall, opposite the bathroom, and connected at the bottom to the double chamber.

The other two were adjacent to the double chamber, effectively transforming the cabin’s rear, which originally only held a double bed for two, into space for six in four chambers after expansion and elevation.

This chamber design was inspired by space capsule beds Chen Xin had seen, but his vehicle’s chambers were more comfortable and advanced than the wooden and ABS materials of typical space capsules.

The sofa in the living cabin, capable of sleeping a person, remained functional, while the twin bed on the roof was altered considerably.

Instead of a traditional bed, it became a semi-reclining sofa, transformed from a double bed into a multifunctional lounge area, with added bookshelves and cabinets on the walls, enhancing living functionality.

Apart from these, Chen Xin made no major adjustments to the vehicle’s body, merely proportionally enlarging the power system to accommodate the increased load and expanding the living cabin’s water tank to hold more water.

After completing the design, Chen Xin checked with the system; without using materials to reduce survival point investment, the entire upgrade would cost twelve thousand points.
