The next day, Emily was up early, determined to wake Ivetta. It was Ivetta’s day off, and Emily had no intention of letting it go to waste.

“Get up, wash up, and get dressed! I want to tour Halo Estate today,” Emily demanded.

“…Can’t we go after lunch?” Ivetta mumbled, still half-asleep.

Emily shook her head firmly.

“No way. One day isn’t enough. You said you wanted to explore Halo Estate too.”

“Well, I did, but…”

I’m exhausted.

Ivetta stifled a yawn, recalling how she had spent the early hours of the morning going through documents in the estate’s archives.

Although Penelope often encouraged her to take things easy, Ivetta found it hard to comply. The archive was filled with records detailing how Penelope had rebuilt the estate—from finances to administration, law, and security.

The more Ivetta read, the more admiration she felt. Halo Estate had transformed so dramatically over the past year that it could hardly be recognized as the same place.
