I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 942 - 942 941. The sun
Chapter 942: 941. The sun Chapter 942: 941. The sun In Shia’s understanding, the sun could never be black.
That was unreasonable.
Blackness was the void without any color, while sunlight contained almost all colors in its purest form.
She had never thought that in her lifetime she would see a black sun.
This sun hung high above the dome of the sky, and because it was so deep, it seemed more like a hole in the sky.
Surrounding the sun were swirling clouds.
These clouds rotated around the black sun at a speed visible to the naked eye, stirring the scenery around them.
Further off was the “wall” Shia had just seen.
This was a wall made of wind, the cloud wall around the eye of the typhoon.
Without a doubt, after the recent noisy tumult, the island had entered the eye of the typhoon.
Here, there was not a breath of wind, a world completely at a standstill.
Outside the island, beyond any storm known to mankind, Gale Winds ravaged, their influence radiating a thousand miles away, with half the Pacific Ocean now under Torrential Rain. Even on the continents near the ocean, the weather was overcast, and a mountain storm loomed.
If at this moment astronauts in a space station looked down upon the earth, they would see a monstrous, terrifying super typhoon like a gigantic eye on the planet, unprecedented.
Yet within the eye of the typhoon, Lu Ban only felt Silence.
He crawled out from the pile of assortments of snacks and building debris, seeing the darkening environment around him as if all the light was sucked away by that black sun in the sky.
Lu Ban wasn’t too surprised by this sun, for he had seen a similar spectacle in ancient He Dao.
“Do you know about this?”
Lu Ban asked the Amber in his arms.
Amber shook its head.
“It seems this is not a gift left for us by Charlotte.”
Lu Ban said self-mockingly, clearly, this was the handiwork of The Dark One.
With this thought, the escape of the Ancient Overlord sealed on He Dao was probably related to The Dark One as well.
He was like an entity acting to make the world more chaotic, constantly shuttling between various Foreign Domains, releasing those Ancient Overlords, bringing chaos to the Foreign Domains.
“What is this?”
The young cashier also survived; he looked up at the sun in the sky, completely collapsing.
Cries of woe and screams interweaved, the surviving people on the island were seeking rescue, but no one could help them.
The lucky ones, like Lu Ban and his group, had taken cover under tables or in gaps beside walls on the first floor, barely escaping disaster.
Those less fortunate who were on the second floor and couldn’t escape, just ascended to the heavens right there and then.
And those who did survive were not necessarily fortunate, for they might endure things more terrifying than death.
Noticing the black sun in the sky, many people fell into panic, confusion, and despair. They forgot what they should do, didn’t know what to do, and could only sit dazed in their places, staring blankly at the sky.
“It looks like the typhoon has stopped moving.”
Shia estimated that the typhoon had moved extremely quickly, taking only about ten minutes to reach the island from the horizon, and now, it seemed as though the storm had no intention of leaving, simply lingering here.
This was, of course, highly improbable.
But according to what Amber and Lu Ban had said, the storm was man-made, or rather, god-made, so even the smallest probability was normal.
However, this black sun always gave an unreal impression.
“My God!”
Suddenly, someone screamed from the ruins nearby, pointing to the sun in the sky.
Since the sun was completely black, staring directly at it wouldn’t harm one’s vision, so Shia observed carefully. Around the spherical sun, it looked as though something was dispersing—countless fragments were falling like tadpoles, trailing down with the rapidly spinning storm.
The fragments were all black, resembling twisted serpents. Though they looked the size of mosquitoes in the eye, considering the distance, one would realize that each of these “bugs” could be tens of meters long—not “little bugs” but thick pythons.
“It looks like these are the gifts prepared for us by The Dark One.”
Lu Ban contemplated for a moment, and he could probably guess The Dark One’s thoughts—to use these monsters to kill them, extract their souls, and insert them into another Foreign Domain or use them as material for some sort of twisted game.
And if Amber and Shia were to die before him, Lu Ban might have the opportunity to return to reality with the help of Charlotte’s power.
“We’re too late.”
Amber glanced at Shia, seemingly ready to take action, possibly even over Lu Ban.
“Don’t panic, the situation we’re in is actually the key to breaking the game.”
Lu Ban stopped Amber, and due to the urgency, he could only speak briefly.
“This part of the Foreign Domain possesses some power that transcends the authority of The Dark One; hence the law that equates knowledge with Pollution has not taken effect. He enjoys being in danger, so he has also given us a chance.”
“Additionally, He hasn’t cast His gaze here, because that would cause history to solidify, but He can’t ignore us forever, because ultimately He still needs to verify my status.”
“So, we have only one chance—to make Him cast His gaze over here, to complete the solidification of history. Under the witness of an Outer God’s incarnation, certain things that haven’t been witnessed might also have a chance to be reversed.”
He looked at Amber and Shia.
“In the Foreign Domain, you have both died and were witnessed by the Silent Lands, and now, you two have appeared before me like this. So, if we can find an opportunity to have The Dark One witness your survival with His own eyes, then you might have the chance to live on with your ‘current’ identities.”
To put it simply, Amber and Shia were already dead, but their souls had been stolen by The Dark One, who had granted them a second life here.
So, the present Amber and Shia could be considered “clone bodies” with the memories of Amber and Shia.
The real Amber and Shia had died, but the “clone bodies” were alive and well.
If this fact were confirmed by an Outer God, then Lu Ban might be able to lead them out of this world and into the real world.
And the key to everything was to have The Dark One confirm the events taking place here in some way.
Combining the characteristics of this world, Lu Ban had a bold and crazy idea.
That was to awaken the Supreme God who slumbered in this Foreign Domain, or was associated with it.
When He awoke, The Dark One would absolutely have to make a trip here.
Therefore, the most pressing matter for Lu Ban and the others now was to survive the onslaught of monsters that were emerging en masse.
