CHAPTER 1377: CHAPTER 1377: PREPARING FOR BATTLE

"Hey, I’m not interested, you guys keep fighting, I’m heading to the next level."

Once you enter the Gate of Despair, you discover that it’s actually an underground maze with multiple levels. Currently, you’re on the third layer, and this room has a staircase leading to the fourth layer.

"Zhao’er, let’s go." As he speaks, the four people in the room widen their eyes in amazement to see an obscure boy actually take the hand of the Fallen Feather Fairy Zhao’er. Looking at Zhao’er’s expression, with shyness in her brows, it was clear she had feelings for this man!

"Miss Li, what are you doing here?" A man jumps out of the battle circle and approaches Zhao’er, "The young master is looking all over for you."

"Stay back." You point your sword at the man, saying coldly, "Take another step and don’t blame me for being rude."

"Nameless pawn, get your filthy hands away from her!" In the eyes of these people, only someone as excellent as Dongfang Yunlong deserves Zhao’er in this world.

"Looking for death!" Seeing the man approaching, your aura immediately changes. In the eyes of the four, a Level 45 Samurai (you had leapt seven levels fighting monsters along the way) suddenly becomes a terrifying enemy.

"Danian, be careful!"

Endless killing intent bursts from you, and your Cold Steel Sword slices a splendid arc in the air, heavily striking the man’s knife.

"Clang!" A heavy metallic sound reverberates throughout the space, sending the Samurai named Danian back more than ten steps with just your strength. He looks at you in disbelief, trying to speak but unable to: "You..."

"If not for Zhao’er, that sword just now would have broken several of your ribs."

"Yun, let’s go."

Zhao’er’s simple call of "Yun" leaves everyone dumbfounded, but the besieged monster doesn’t understand Zhao’er’s words. It screeches and shoots three black Dark Arrows at a Mage. The Mage dodges frantically but still gets hit by one arrow. Seeing this, Zhao’er casts a Pure Healing Art on him. The Mage doesn’t have time to thank her as the three of them are plunged back into the fierce battle.

Seeing you and Zhao’er descend to the fourth layer, the man you dazed with your blow hurriedly sends a message to Dongfang Yunlong, reporting Zhao’er’s situation.

As soon as you and Zhao’er enter the fourth layer, you’re immediately met with a crisis. No one knew there was a Three Heads and Six Arms monster at the stairs! This monster not only has a massive build, but each of its six hands wields a strangely shaped weapon, one of which looks particularly eye-catching.

The Three-headed demon, Level 85, gatekeeper boss of the Gate of Despair, special skill: Sky-Spinning.

Each head of the Three-headed demon is different; the middle one is the largest, with two long tusks and eyes like copper bells glaring straight at you.

"Zhao’er, get ready for battle!"

Through the many battles, your coordination with Zhao’er has grown increasingly skillful and close. With just a glance, the two of you understand each other’s intentions. With your call to arms, Zhao’er immediately casts a Divine Protection that boosts your attack and defense.

However, just as you’re preparing for a showdown, the Three-headed demon unexpectedly turns and runs! This flabbergasts you, as an 85-level boss would be afraid of a mere level 45 samurai?

"What’s going on?" you look at Zhao’er in puzzlement.

"Let’s find out," Zhao’er softly utters an incantation, and beneath the fleeing Three-headed demon, a white vortex of energy appears. With a miserable cry from the monster, the Three-headed demon unexpectedly perishes! An 85-level boss killed instantly by Zhao’er!

Zhao’er seems equally astonished that she could defeat a boss in one strike, looking at you with the same surprised gaze. You can only return a wry smile because you see that the Three-headed demon only dropped a small bottle of potion.

"It seems fake," is the only explanation you can come up with.

"Quite possibly," Zhao’er nods, "but the monster levels here are very high." As you glance around, you still see some monsters wandering with levels averaging around 78.

Combat puppet, Levels 70-73, intermediate melee combat monster, immune to magic. Combat puppets are the Guardians of the Wizards, forged from dark magic by amalgamating the meat spirits of many dead. They are evil, fighting puppets. Combat puppets carry poison and curse effects when they attack. They produce superior weapons for various professions.

War Puppet, Levels 75-78, advanced melee combat monster, immune to magic. War Puppets are weapons specifically created by Wizards for evil purposes, stronger than Combat puppets. War Puppets know two combat skills: Combat Dizziness and Combat Intimidation. They produce superior weapons for various professions, with a 0.12% chance of epic weapons.

Malevolent Necromancer, Levels 80-82, mid-boss. Humans categorize Malevolent Necromancers under the Undead, yet they refuse to admit they’re undead because they still have flesh. Their defense is "Since we fear plagues, you can tell we don’t belong to the Undead." Malevolent Necromancers specialize in Dark Magic, proficient in Intermediate Dark Magic. They produce Mage Epic Weapons, with a 0.001% chance of Lower Ghost Devices.

Your eyes fix straight on the Malevolent Necromancer, who chuckles menacingly, "Zhao’er, impose a movement restriction on him to prevent spatial jumps."

Zhao’er nods, for the first time pulling five Spirit Talismans from a Spatial Bag, deftly stepping as she chants, "The Seven Stars shine, stepping into Tiangang, seizing his spirit, fix God with the Void."

Zhao’er throws the five Spirit Talismans, which suddenly fly over the Malevolent Necromancer’s head. The Malevolent Necromancer senses the strange aura and, when looking around bewildered, sees five columns of light appearing around him from the Spirit Talismans.

Seeing Zhao’er use Taoism for the first time brings a flash of memory of watching a summoning female Taoist in Chaoge City. But this thought quickly passes; wielding the Cold Steel Sword, you charge hastily at the Malevolent Necromancer. You’ve adapted to the Cold Steel Sword’s weight, and though you can’t use previous killer moves, as you swing it, you recall some ancient techniques for wielding a Heavy Sword.

When you’re two meters away from the Malevolent Necromancer, he suddenly shrieks, and in front of you appears a Black Magic Wall. The Magic Wall blocks your way while fists from two Combat puppets pound towards you.

"Shadowless Wind!" You slash hard with the Heavy Sword at a Combat puppet’s arm, then use the momentum for a spinning backslash. With a flash of cold, the Combat puppet’s head is immediately sliced off by you.

"Yun Xiaoxin!" Zhao’er raises her Magic Wand high, setting up a Magic Wall shining with golden light to your right.

"Boom!" Just as Zhao’er’s Magic Wall is erected, a Black Dragon formed of dark energy viciously crashes into it.
