CHAPTER 251: CHAPTER 251: MISINFORMATION

"President Quinn, all the rumors about Vera Yates have disappeared." Chiara Thorne pushed open Sienna Quinn’s office door with a displeased expression. Chiara Thorne had returned to help Sienna Quinn deal with these people, and all these days she had been busy with the external rumors about Vera Yates. The reason those stories hadn’t died down was because Chiara Thorne had been stirring them from behind.

"Oh?"

Sienna Quinn put down the document in her hand and raised her head in confusion to look at Chiara Thorne. Chiara Thorne sat down angrily and grumbled indignantly, "The direction of domestic public opinion really is powerful. It was at the top of the trending list just before, but now look, all the negative news about Vera Yates mistreating staff and her bad temper have vanished."

Sienna Quinn frowned, and suddenly her phone rang. Looking at the message, she let out a cold laugh, "It’s perfectly normal for those stories to disappear."

"Why?" This time, it was Chiara Thorne’s turn to be puzzled.

Vera Yates spoke slowly, "Because our President Lawson is impressive, and here, no one dares to provoke Landon Lawson." Sienna Quinn’s words were somewhat sarcastic. She had just received a text from her assistant, saying that Landon Lawson was with Vera Yates now. It’s quite the coincidence, isn’t it? Just as Landon Lawson goes to her, the stories vanish. Besides Landon Lawson, Sienna Quinn really couldn’t think of anyone else.

Chiara Thorne looked at the news, laughed coldly, "Landon Lawson really has two sets of standards. He clearly said before that he’d be good to you and Chloe, but then he turns around and runs back to his old flame. Men’s words, deceivers!"

Sienna Quinn laughed self-deprecatingly. Wasn’t the person in Landon Lawson’s heart always Vera Yates? He said before he would help her and believe everything she said, but now hasn’t he chosen to stand on the opposite side of Sienna Quinn?

Landon Lawson, you never stand behind me.

If you can’t do it, then don’t say those grandiose words about believing me; they truly make one sick.

Once more, the office door was pushed open, and a tall figure walked in. Feeling the low atmosphere in the office, he whispered with a smile to break the tension, "Why is it so oppressive in here? Is it because things at work aren’t going well?"

Axel Yates walked over and immediately saw the screen of the phone on the table. Naturally, he also saw the content, realizing Landon Lawson had been deceived by Vera Yates. Sienna Quinn noticed Axel Yates’ gaze and discreetly retrieved her phone, not wanting Axel Yates to see the content on it.

With a rough idea in mind, he coughed lightly and said to Chiara Thorne, "I have to discuss some matters with President Quinn. You head out for now."

Chiara Thorne nodded; after all, this was Yates Group, and she was an employee in his company, so Axel Yates’ words naturally carried weight.

As soon as Chiara Thorne went out, Axel Yates sat down, his gaze fixed on the now locked screen phone, "That’s someone from Vera Yates’ circle, isn’t it?"

Sienna Quinn’s heart skipped a beat, fearing what had come. Axel Yates had indeed seen it.

"Just a friend, it’s not what you think." Sienna Quinn tried to appear natural.

But everything she did was seen through by Axel Yates, "The news about Vera Yates... it was you who leaked it, right?" The man spoke with conviction, not even asking Sienna Quinn. Seeing his resolute expression, Sienna knew she couldn’t evade any longer.

Nodding, she said, "You’re right, it was me."

Axel Yates was momentarily taken aback. He only knew that Sienna Quinn had acted against Quinn Group because of past grievances. He hadn’t expected her to also act against Vera Yates. Could it be she had enmity with Vera Yates too? Because of Landon Lawson?

But Sienna Quinn wasn’t the type of person to act indiscriminately.

Axel Yates’ lips moved silently, "I’ll help you!"

He didn’t ask anything, didn’t ask the reason, simply stated he’ll help her, warming Sienna Quinn’s heart. But she couldn’t drag innocent people into this any longer, much less, Axel Yates’ gaze made Sienna Quinn scared. They were eyes so similar to Landon Lawson’s.

"I’ve been with you for so many years. Can’t you trust me to handle things? Vera Yates is just a minor issue, I can handle it myself."

Axel Yates shook his head with a smile, "You’re too polite to me. We’re friends, and I have the ability to help you. Why refuse?"

"I just don’t want to owe too much, so President Yates, I appreciate your goodwill."

"I knew it! You’re really a stubborn person." Axel Yates smiled helplessly. He should’ve known Sienna would refuse.

A big smile appeared on Sienna Quinn’s lips, entrancing Axel Yates. This face, this woman, unknowingly had entered his heart. No matter how difficult or frustrating things got, seeing Sienna’s beautiful face erased all negative emotions.

He also wanted to keep Sienna Quinn by his side.

Is she doing all this because of Landon Lawson? Are they fighting over him?

But Landon Lawson and Vera Yates...

"I didn’t intend to tell you this but seeing you and Vera Yates squabble, I decided I should let you know. Landon Lawson and Vera Yates are married."

Married?

Sienna Quinn’s eyes widened. Landon Lawson had told her they were still legally married; the divorce agreement from five years ago wasn’t signed. How could he marry Vera Yates?

Sienna Quinn’s shock was misinterpreted by Axel Yates as being stunned by the news. But some things she needed to know or she truly would be misled.

"I can’t let you get dragged further into this. At your birthday party, Landon Lawson explicitly said that he has a wife."

Seeing Axel Yates’ serious expression, Sienna Quinn’s lips formed a smile, and she even began laughing uncontrollably.

"You thought I targeted Vera Yates out of spite?"

"Isn’t it?"

Axel Yates was dumbfounded by Sienna Quinn’s laughter, staring at the woman dazedly.

"Of course not. Do you think I’m the kind of woman whose IQ drops to zero because of a man?" Sienna Quinn impishly raised her eyebrows.

Axel Yates was momentarily stunned. He laughed softly, shaking his head, "I made you sound childish. Since you have your own plans, I verbally support you. But if you need help, remember to ask me."

"My issues with Vera Yates are personal grudges, and I won’t bring them into work."

With those words, she pushed a newly printed contract in front of Axel Yates.

"What is this?"

Opening the contract, Axel Yates read the contents, "We’re cooperating with Orwell Group?"

"Yes, it’s a draft contract Felix Orwell just proposed, more profitable than dealings with Quinn Group."

Axel Yates chuckled softly. This wasn’t an ordinary partnership; it was clearly Sienna’s compensation tactic for losses in the rivalry with Quinn Group.
