I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 272: The Death of My Parents
CHAPTER 272: CHAPTER 272: THE DEATH OF MY PARENTS
"It really is Landon Lawson, why is he there?"
"Felix Orwell is announcing his relationship with Sienna Quinn today. Could it be that Landon Lawson is trying to stop it?"
"If he’s trying to stop it, this situation would be somewhat humorous."
Groups of three to five people gathered together, and the discussions grew louder. Clara Quinn stood beside Amanda Warren and Tom Quinn, her expression looking unnatural.
Amanda Warren leaned in close to Clara and whispered, "What’s going on? According to plan, shouldn’t you have already won him over? How could you still give Sienna a chance?"
They had finally awaited Sienna Quinn and Landon Lawson’s divorce, but now there’s another Felix Orwell. If things keep going like this, when will Sienna’s influence end? No matter what, Felix Orwell and Sienna cannot be together.
Clara glanced at Amanda and slowly spoke, "I just tried, but I failed."
"Failed? How could my daughter fail?" Clara’s expression turned ugly, pointing at the woman ahead, she slowly said. How could her daughter be rejected? Even Sienna succeeded; how could Clara fail?
What is so good about Sienna Quinn? She can even make so many people like her? On what grounds?
Amanda couldn’t figure it out. Back then, she couldn’t compare to her sister-in-law, and outsiders always said the eldest daughter-in-law of the Quinn Family was gentle, kind, and virtuous, never giving praise to her.
If Tom lived under his brother’s shadow, then she lived under her sister-in-law’s shadow.
As long as her brother and sister-in-law were there, she and Tom would never have their day, which eventually led them to take bold actions, only to find that the results were satisfactory as at least it didn’t worsen.
But now, Sienna Quinn is suppressing Clara Quinn. Just this point alone makes Amanda furious again.
Those days of being suppressed by her, now her daughter being suppressed by Clara Quinn, is it possible that even her own educated daughter is no match for hers? On what grounds? She refuses to accept it, even if she dies, she will suppress her!
Clara saw her mother, always indignant, but never considered asking herself whether being rejected by Felix Orwell made her sad.
"Mom, do you really see me as your daughter?" Clara suddenly asked, staring directly at her. If she truly was Amanda’s daughter, why has she never cared about her? In Amanda’s heart, was it always about pressing Sienna under?
Amanda was stunned for a moment, then shouted with an ugly face, "What nonsense are you saying, child? If I didn’t see you as my daughter, who am I doing all this for?"
Tom looked at the two who had started arguing, snorted coldly, and couldn’t be bothered with them any longer.
Amanda never expected that her daughter’s plans all for Clara, in the end, her daughter always felt used?
Amanda’s face was unusually ugly, but Clara turned her head, recalling all from the beginning. In Amanda’s heart, she never mattered; it was always about winning this or that, never about letting her have love. If Sienna’s mother hadn’t passed, would she have pursued happiness instead of these illusory things?
Tom snorted coldly, interrupting the conversation between the two: "Just stop talking already. Do you really need to embarrass us further? Can’t you see where you are, how many are watching our family’s joke?" Tom’s face was extremely ugly, wondering why he even came with them. Would it have been different if he had been more mindful earlier?
Danielle Carter was holding the promotion gift Axel Yates gave Sienna, but the situation in front of her seemed a bit off? Could it be that Felix Orwell was planning to propose to President Quinn? Thinking of this, Danielle’s eyes suddenly lit up, and she immediately pulled out her phone to dial Axel Yates’s number.
But after a long wait, Axel Yates didn’t answer the phone. Danielle scratched her head in confusion. What was their president doing? Why wasn’t he even answering his phone?
Even though Axel Yates didn’t answer, she still sent him a text.
[President Quinn and President Orwell seem to be getting engaged today...]
After sending it, Danielle put her phone away. In theory, her relationship with Axel Yates should have been more distant, but since Sienna left, a lot of things Sienna had done before, Danielle only then knew about, so now most tasks have been handed to her, making her a favorite in Axel’s eyes.
Buzz buzz buzz!
The phone’s vibration broke the tense atmosphere. Axel Yates looked down at his phone vibrating beside him, seeing that the incoming call was from Danielle, and after a while, it ended. When it rang again, it was the text she sent him.
Gazing at the text content, Axel’s expressionless face finally shifted, his outstretched hand paused mid-air.
Just as he was about to touch the phone on the table, the man’s hand finally paused for a moment.
"I’ve found out as much as I can about your parents’ situation, but I need to tell you that their deaths might be man-made."
"Man-made, huh?" Axel slowly muttered, his face looking extremely bad, with a hint of indifference and resentment in his eyes. Why did it turn out this way? How could his parents’ deaths be man-made? Leaving him parentless since a young age.
His hand slowly clenched, the sound of creaking wood echoing.
The private detective saw Axel’s exceptionally grim face and gently coughed: "Now that I’ve given you all the answers you need, is there anything else you want to ask?"
Axel was silent for a while, lifting his head only three minutes later.
"Can you help me find out who killed my parents? I need to know who the murderer is."
"This might take a bit longer, as it’s been many years, and there’s one more thing..." he said, rubbing his fingers in a clearly suggestive manner.
Axel gritted his teeth, "As long as you can find out the truth, money is not a problem."
"Alright, I will definitely help you find out the truth you want." The man slowly spoke, picking up the documents on the table and heading out.
Axel slumped onto the table, once again looking at the text Danielle had sent, wondering if Felix Orwell was indeed confessing to Sienna Quinn today. Truthfully, it was an entirely reasonable thing to happen. Felix had always had Sienna in his heart; his confession was merely a matter of time.
But why was he feeling so unhappy? Was it because of Sienna or his parents’ issue?
In this moment, he was a bit confused.
