I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 282: Family Upheaval
CHAPTER 282: CHAPTER 282: FAMILY UPHEAVAL
Miles Grant’s father felt very gratified to hear his son suddenly show such concern for the company’s series, but when he thought about the company’s current situation, he couldn’t help feeling inexplicably worried.
After all, he has been the chairman for such a long time, and handling all matters had been quite smooth. As someone who often stands at the peak, suddenly falling into the depths felt extremely uncomfortable.
Miles Grant’s father lowered his tone: "Yes, not long ago, the company was still doing quite well, but recently, several cooperative deals were snatched up by others, taken by a newly established company. The company hasn’t had any collaborations for a long time now. For a company as big as ours, operating in such emptiness will inevitably lead to financial deficits sooner or later."
Miles suddenly felt even more pain in his temples, pressed harder with his hand, sat up, and said with his head down: "A newly listed company? How is that possible? Our company has been around for so many years and has always maintained a good operating state, consistently ranking at the top. How can we be defeated by a small company that was just established?"
Miles could clearly hear the weariness in his father’s voice: "I heard that this newly established company is willing to cooperate with those companies at half our price. Although I usually have good relations with them, they’re all old foxes in the business world. Aiming to reduce operating costs and ensure better cash flow, they didn’t consider our ties at all when signing with other companies."
Miles didn’t know what to say, realizing there must be a major issue at home. If he didn’t stand in solidarity with his family at this time, it would be too ungrateful, as it wasn’t just his father, but the entire family.
Even to repay his father’s nurturing care, he had to stand by the family now to help them through this crisis.
Miles was silent for a moment and then said: "Wait, I’ll drive home right now."
After saying this, Miles hung up the phone, quickly changed the clothes he had been wearing for days, worried that his current mood might upset his family.
Even when facing challenges, he was determined to approach them with a full spirit. After changing clothes quickly, Miles immediately slammed the door and headed out.
Although his body was sore and his eyes felt dry almost to the point of closing, Miles felt he was a man; when problems arose at home, he must return and resolve them.
Miles’ father and father were already anxiously walking around at home, unsure how to address the company’s current issues.
After all, those companies had been partners for a long time, and suddenly breaking contracts left the company without financial resources or goods exchange. The entire Grant Group became an empty structure, and the employees’ wages couldn’t be delayed indefinitely. The company was currently in a deficit state, and if it continued this way, it might completely collapse within a few months.
The family wore anxious expressions, sitting on the living room sofa, feeling restless and urgent, not knowing how to help. At this time, they could only hate themselves for just being a housewife.
Miles’ father was less composed, walking back and forth in front of the sofa, shaking his head several times. He had been worried for days since those companies agreed to terminate contracts with the Grant Group.
Today, he finally couldn’t hold back. When the company first encountered problems, he immediately called Miles, but as Miles was in surgery, he hadn’t heard or answered. It wasn’t until this afternoon that he answered the call and heard the shocking news.
In no time, Miles drove home, anxiously tossed the keys to the butler, and rushed into the house.
Upon seeing his son’s return, Miles’ father suddenly felt filled with confidence.
Miles’ father’s eyes were fixated on Miles entering through the front door, as if seeing the dawn, excited.
Even though Miles didn’t follow his father’s advice to study business management, he had already become very familiar with business administration and company management.
Moreover, Miles had always been clear-headed and resourceful. Whenever there was trouble at home, his father would seek his opinion, certain to find a better, more reasonable solution.
After Miles returned home and saw his father in great emotional distress, he too felt a pang of sorrow.
Father had always been the one who couldn’t hold in his worries. Seeing his son return, he joyfully shouted: "Miles, you’ve finally come back. The company is facing such a big problem now, your dad and I are worried sick. What should we do?"
Miles ran over to sit beside his father, hugged him, and gently patted him on the back, saying: "It’s okay, don’t worry. Since those old hands have switched to cooperate with that company, we will develop new clients."
Miles’ father frowned and said: "Develop new clients? Let alone find a suitable partner in such a short time. Even if we find one, won’t they be snatched up again by that newly developed company with a raised offer?"
Miles seemed to have anticipated his father’s concerns, answering calmly: "That company, after all, is newly established. They’re just using a promotional tactic right now. Once it’s over, and they face losses and negative earnings, they’ll have to raise their prices again. That will be our opportunity. Moreover, they’ve already lost money cooperating with many companies, so they can’t handle more partnerships."
Miles’ father suddenly realized that his son truly had a good business acumen. This simple reasoning should have occurred to him earlier, perhaps due to the suddenness of the crisis and the unprecedented scope of the issues the company faced, leading him to miss this logic.
Seeing his father quietly reflecting on the issue, Miles knew that he had temporarily calmed his father’s nerves, allowing him to feel less anxious. If both of them could have a healthy and peaceful night’s sleep, then these problems wouldn’t seem too immense.
Miles was well aware that this situation wasn’t as simple as it appeared. How coincidentally could a company emerge suddenly to oppose his father’s company? Someone must have intervened, and given such low buyback prices, even as a promotion, it couldn’t be like this at the start.
