I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 291: Face to Face
CHAPTER 291: CHAPTER 291: FACE TO FACE
Miles Grant held his wine glass and spoke to himself.
Miles Grant opened his phone, dialed a number he hadn’t called in a long time, and then in a very cold, commanding tone said, "Prepare a car for me. Be there on time tomorrow night, I’m going to do something big. Just follow my lead."
After Miles Grant finished speaking, he heard a dispirited voice on the other end of the line say, "Yes, boss!"
Miles Grant drank the wine in his glass, the smile on his face looked incredibly ferocious, exactly the same as when he dealt with Sienna Quinn.
The next day, Miles Grant picked out a handsome outfit, but not too eye-catching, and arrived at the kindergarten entrance at the agreed time with the person from yesterday.
Seeing Evan Quinn being escorted to the kindergarten entrance by the homeroom teacher, he smiled and walked over.
Evan Quinn recognized Miles Grant at a glance since he used to see this Uncle Grant getting along very well with his dad. Although Sienna Quinn always warned him to be wary of Vera Yates, this uncle with glasses seemed gentle and not like a bad person.
Evan Quinn happily said to Miles Grant, "Hello, Uncle!"
Miles Grant continued to smile harmoniously and reached out to hug Evan Quinn, "Hey, good boy, Evan!"
The kindergarten teacher, however, had never seen this Uncle Grant before, and since the child’s biological father was not picking him up, did not dare to let the child go without permission. If something went wrong, they could not bear the responsibility.
The kindergarten teacher politely asked, "Who are you to Evan?"
Miles Grant continued to smile and said, "I’m Evan’s uncle. I’m a good friend and business partner of his dad. His dad had something urgent today and couldn’t come to pick him up, so I’m here instead."
Despite that, the homeroom teacher was still worried and looked once more at Evan.
Evan happily nodded and said, "Yes, Teacher, this is my dad’s good friend, Uncle Grant."
The teacher, hearing the child speak this way, had no reason to refuse and let Miles Grant take Evan.
Miles Grant took Evan into the car. Perhaps because Evan played all day at kindergarten, he felt very sleepy. Moreover, the temperature in the car was just right, so he fell asleep peacefully.
Watching the small body in the back, Miles Grant’s mouth curled into a smug smile. Landon Lawson, all of this you forced upon us. You can hurt me, but you shouldn’t have hurt Vera. All these years, when has Vera Yates ever treated you badly? She poured all her feelings into you, but what about you? Your heart only ever belonged to Sienna Quinn. Is this how you repay Vera?
Since you value this son so much, today I’ll let you feel what it’s like to lose this precious son.
Landon Lawson was delayed at the company by some pressing matters, which made him late to pick up his son from school. But when he arrived at the kindergarten, he found the homeroom teacher getting ready to go home.
Landon Lawson anxiously asked, "Teacher, where is Evan? I had some urgent matters at the company today and got here late to pick him up; I apologize for any inconvenience."
The teacher, looking confused, said, "Wasn’t Evan taken by your good friend, Mr. Grant?"
A jolt of panic shot through Landon Lawson, but he didn’t want to make a big scene. If news of this spread, it would be detrimental to both families’ reputations. He didn’t want his relationship with Miles Grant to become that strained.
"If you want to see your son, come to this warehouse," was the text message Landon Lawson suddenly received.
Without a second thought, Landon Lawson rushed to the warehouse, fearing even a moment of delay could put his son in trouble.
After contemplating, he decided to call Sienna Quinn and clearly explained the situation.
Sienna Quinn, upon hearing this, immediately jumped into a cab and rushed to the warehouse as well.
In no time, the two of them met up at the warehouse entrance.
They glanced at each other and prepared to head inside the warehouse. For now, personal grievances had to be set aside; ensuring their son’s safety was the priority.
Miles Grant had already been waiting in the warehouse for quite some time.
When Sienna Quinn and Landon Lawson entered the warehouse, they found Evan Quinn quietly lying on a table next to them, sleeping soundly. Although he was tied to the table, it seemed he hadn’t realized he was kidnapped yet.
Landon Lawson was the first to speak, "We can work this out, just please don’t harm my son."
Miles Grant laughed coldly as he sat there, "Work this out? You came at me all high and mighty saying we should be brothers, and now you’re retaliating against me because of this woman? Is this what you call ’working it out’?"
Landon Lawson glanced at Miles Grant, realizing he’s very agitated, and knew that no amount of explaining would convince him right now, so confrontation was out of the question.
Landon Lawson tried to explain to Miles Grant, "You don’t have to do this. I’ve never betrayed any of you, nor have I ever intended to retaliate against you."
Miles Grant became intensely emotional, "Bullshit! Stop trying to deceive me. If you hadn’t given Sienna Quinn the internal data from Vance Group, Vance Group wouldn’t have faced such massive issues and gone bankrupt in such a short time. Landon Lawson, can’t you tell right from wrong? Vera Yates has been entirely devoted to you, but how do you treat her? Do you really have her in your heart?"
Miles Grant’s face looked grim as he pointed at Sienna Quinn, yelling, "This woman drugged you five years ago, yet you chose her over Vera Yates, who has been by your side for so many years? Tell me, who betrayed whom first among the three of us."
Miles Grant grew more and more intense as he talked, eventually shouting vehemently. His face was frighteningly dark, and the usually gentle and refined eyes were now full of raging flames. All his suppressed emotions over the years erupted at this moment, the years of scholarly restraint disappeared.
Watching as Miles Grant took out all his anger on Landon Lawson, Sienna Quinn interjected, "Vance Group’s collapse was due to their own poor management, it had nothing to do with me. If your forces were really upright, no matter what I could do, I wouldn’t be able to shake your standing. So what are you afraid of?"
