I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 292: Severed Bonds and Broken Loyalty
CHAPTER 292: CHAPTER 292: SEVERED BONDS AND BROKEN LOYALTY
Miles Grant seemed blinded by hatred, furiously saying, "Stop saying useless things here. You’re not the one with the problem. The past events have nothing to do with me, yet you choose to take revenge on me now. By logic, Landon Lawson should be your greatest enemy, so why aren’t you thinking of getting back at the Lawson Group?"
Miles Grant continued, as if going mad, and said, "You two are just colluding here. Adulterers!"
Landon Lawson thought Miles Grant was blinded by hatred now, and didn’t know what words could soothe his wounded heart at the moment.
Landon Lawson thought for a moment and said, "Even if you kidnapped my son, it’s useless, and the collapse of the Vance Group isn’t connected to your company at all. If you release my son, I will help solve your company’s financial deficit problem."
Miles Grant laughed mockingly at the sky, saying, "Landon Lawson! Landon Lawson! Even at this point, you’re still pretending we’re brothers. What’s there to say? What is there for us to talk about? I don’t need your charity."
Sienna Quinn was also feeling very anxious, as long as her son was unharmed now, it would be her greatest wish, even if it meant taking back all the efforts she had put forth, she would willingly agree.
Sienna Quinn said in an exasperated manner, "As long as you release my son now, I won’t go after your company any further. I’ll return all those partners to you, and your company can continue operations. How about this deal?"
Miles Grant said through gritted teeth to Sienna Quinn, "What right do you have to negotiate with me here? Your son’s life is in my hands now. With just a flick of my finger, I can end his life right here. I had control before, and now I can still control your son’s fate."
Sienna Quinn was utterly anxious, unsure what to do.
Landon Lawson still calmly said to Miles Grant, "Think about it calmly, even if you kill my son now, you’ll be confirmed guilty of kidnapping and murder and will definitely be executed. You still have a father at home, who is waiting for you to return and solve the company’s problems. Release my son now, and we will help you resolve the company’s issues, benefiting both. Then no one would owe anyone anything, doesn’t it sound good?"
Miles Grant stood there thinking, feeling that what he said made some sense.
Landon Lawson seized the moment when Miles Grant was dazed, seeing no one was watching, and shuffled himself below the tied-up son on the table.
When Miles Grant came to his senses, Landon Lawson was already in front of the table.
Miles Grant grabbed the knife in his hand and viciously stabbed at Landon Lawson.
Landon Lawson and Miles Grant engaged in a life-and-death struggle, while Sienna Quinn took the opportunity to slip to the side of the table, quickly untying the rope and rushed out of the warehouse with her son in her arms.
Landon Lawson also took the chance to lock Miles Grant in the warehouse, looking at him through the large iron door, and said, slightly out of breath, "Miles Grant, I’ve been friends with you for so many years, think carefully, have I ever treated you or Vera unfairly? I’ve been sincere to both of you. I only cared for these few people, but what about you? Each of you schemed to place my son in danger. Five years ago, you helped Vera encourage me to despise Sienna, and the things done to her were appalling."
Landon Lawson paused, closing his eyes in pain. He was always crystal clear about this, but who made him believe the slanders, always thinking that Sienna was the worst, that anyone was better than Sienna? It was precisely this thought that harmed Sienna.
"I’m not shirking responsibility, as you said, ultimately, I’m the real culprit, deserving of punishment. So now I want to turn over a new leaf, to start anew, why won’t you allow it?"
Listening to the man’s confession outside the door, Miles Grant let out a faint laugh, the sarcastic laughter having a strong penetrating force.
"Landon Lawson, do you know what your biggest mistake is?"
"What is it?"
"You hurt Vera Yates. I’ve loved this girl since I was young, wishing to cradle her in my hands, protecting her from any harm. But Vera Yates only had eyes for you, always trailing behind you clumsily, never noticing me. Actually, that didn’t matter, as long as she was happy, I’d do anything. But Landon Lawson, why did you so wantonly hurt my girl?"
The press conference and subsequent information were the final straws breaking Miles Grant.
After a pause, the man slowly spoke, "Since you were willing to hurt Vera Yates for any cost because of Sienna Quinn, then I too can hurt you for any cost for Vera Yates."
Listening to Miles Grant’s voice, Landon Lawson laughed at himself, "Do you know what Vera Yates did? She resorted to kidnapping my son by stuffing a monitoring device inside a teddy bear. Are her actions considered for the welfare of my family?"
Landon Lawson was rational, the reason he did all this, ultimately, is because Vera Yates brought it upon herself.
With a sigh, it seemed many things couldn’t be uttered now.
"Fine, I’ll tell you now, Miles Grant, our brotherly ties end here today." With that, he turned and left, not looking back.
The friendship spanning over twenty years, for her and him, was a bounty, Landon Lawson being someone who sought vengeance for kindness, never having mistreated anyone but causing harm to Sienna Quinn and Evan Quinn. Thus, in this lifetime, he must protect the two of them.
Listening to the footsteps fading away outside the door, Miles Grant felt utterly irate, stomping his feet forcefully. Such a good opportunity was wasted by him yet again.
After this incident, no one blew it out of proportion, only the three of them aware.
However, Miles Grant didn’t thank the two of them, but felt it was something they owed him.
Miles Grant still couldn’t swallow this resentment; thinking back, it irritated him. Without some severe retribution against those two, he felt greatly shortchanged.
No, he couldn’t let it end this way.
Landon Lawson and Sienna Quinn had yet to face retribution.
In the pitch-black warehouse, unable to see his own hand, Miles Grant clenched his fist tightly, producing a creaking sound, his face utterly grim, refusing to believe he couldn’t overthrow these two people.
Suddenly struck by an idea, if external forces couldn’t overtake these two, then he would do so from within. Every fortress is ultimately torn down from the inside.
