I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 307: Paralysis
CHAPTER 307: CHAPTER 307: PARALYSIS
"It’s not that bad," the doctor said at this moment. "Although we made the worst-case scenario preparation, with our efforts, President Lawson only suffered paralysis in one hand. Everything else is fine."
The doctor’s words did not bring any relief to those present. For a figure as imperious as Landon Lawson, even a finger’s paralysis would be a devastating blow.
"Understood," Mom Lawson accepted this fact, relieved that her precious son only had one immobile hand.
Seeing Landon Lawson being wheeled into the ICU, his sharply defined face as pale as paper, Sienna Quinn felt her heart twist painfully. She was about to follow, but Mom Lawson grabbed her.
"Auntie?" Siennna noticed the fierce look in Mom Lawson’s eyes, confused. Just moments ago, she had helped her deal with Vera Yates.
"What? Did you really think I could accept you, this woman?"
Mom Lawson saw through Sienna’s thoughts: "That was then; then I kept you around to give my son strength. Now that he has pulled through, get lost! Never appear in front of him again! You shameless troublemaker!"
With that, Mom Lawson pushed Sienna to the ground.
Felix Orwell quickly helped Sienna up, his beautiful brows tightly knit, "Are you okay?"
Sienna shook her head. Though her body hurt, what was this pain compared to Landon’s?
"Auntie..."
Sienna was about to step forward again when Felix shook his head at her, "Don’t go and humiliate yourself. Landon Lawson is awake and no longer in danger. If you go now, his mother certainly won’t speak kindly to you."
Sienna cried instantly. Yes, if it weren’t for her, how would Landon have gotten hurt?
"Mommy, don’t cry. If no one wants you, I want you." Evan Quinn came forward to hug Sienna’s waist, comforting her, though the little guy himself was heartbroken.
Sienna swallowed her choke and nodded to Evan, holding back her tears.
Landon Lawson finally woke up but saw that Sienna was not by his side.
Due to Mom Lawson’s interference, Sienna had begged several times to see Landon but was ruthlessly rejected each time.
"Where’s Sienna?" Landon asked his mother as soon as he opened his eyes.
Mom Lawson’s hand, peeling an apple, slightly froze and then said, "Don’t mention that heartless woman. She hasn’t been here since your injury and is fooling around with that playboy Felix Orwell."
"No, Sienna isn’t like that!"
Before Landon lost consciousness, he clearly remembered Sienna’s little face filled with despair and reluctance. Her love for him was undeniable, so how could things have turned out like this according to his mother?
Mom Lawson looked at Landon’s chest injury, her fists clenching tightly, "Not like that? She’s a troublemaker. If she truly loved you, why did she leave back then? Why didn’t she actively seek you out this time?"
Landon bit his lip hard. This was his mother, and a mother would never deceive her child.
Could it be that Sienna truly felt indifferent to his injury?
Landon shut his eyes in despair. It turns out she still hates him, even though he risked his life and all she gave him in return was continued hatred.
"Here, Landon, have a piece of apple."
Mom Lawson picked up an apple slice and brought it to Landon’s mouth. Though feeling dry-mouthed, he wasn’t used to being fed, except by Sienna.
He lifted his hand to take it but found that his right hand wouldn’t move and had no sensation.
"My hand?" An ominous feeling rose within Landon.
"Landon, quickly, eat the apple," Mom Lawson tried to change the topic.
Landon frowned, attempting to move his arm, but it remained motionless, not even the slightest sensation.
"What’s wrong with my hand?" Landon roared like a beast.
"Paralyzed."
Mom Lawson finally stopped hiding, "But Landon, the doctor said there’s a chance for recovery, and..."
"Get out."
As expected, Landon couldn’t handle this devastating blow.
"Landon."
Mom Lawson wanted to say more.
"Get out!"
Landon’s wild, angry roar resounded again, scaring Mom Lawson so much that she knocked over the plate of apples, helplessly and sorrowfully looking at her precious son as tears streamed down uncontrollably.
"Son, no matter how much it costs, I will cure you. If it doesn’t work here, we’ll go abroad."
Landon lifted his head, looking at his mother’s aged face, still charming but unquestionably older.
Calming his heart, "I’m fine. I just want to compose myself."
"Really?" Mom Lawson asked hesitantly, fearing Landon might act impulsively.
The man nodded firmly.
Only then did Mom Lawson leave the room, relieved.
"Mrs. Lawson!"
An anxious voice sounded nearby, prompting Mom Lawson to quickly shut the hospital room door, afraid Landon would hear from outside.
"How is Landon? Is he awake?"
Sienna asked urgently. Although rebuffed by Mom Lawson, she hadn’t left, but had Felix take the little guy back to their room first.
Mom Lawson sneered coldly, "Landon’s resting. If it weren’t for you, would my Landon have been in danger? You’re quite the jinx."
Sienna gritted her teeth hard. All she wanted now was to see Landon.
"Mrs. Lawson..."
"Shut up!"
With a wave of her hand, Mom Lawson summoned two men in black clothing to guard the door.
Mom Lawson sneered, "Attend to this woman. Do not let her near President Lawson. If I find out, you’ll be in deep trouble."
Because of Mom Lawson’s watch and obstruction, Sienna didn’t get to see Landon until he was discharged.
This dragged on for a whole week.
Unable to see Landon, Axel Yates avoided meeting as well.
Though she called the police that day, no one was caught, and she and Landon tacitly agreed not to mention Axel Yates.
Though Sienna didn’t know why Landon wasn’t speaking up, there was a lingering sense that this matter wasn’t over and needed resolution between the two of them.
Sienna sat in her office, hands cradling her small face, thoughts drifting.
Felix Orwell walked in, spotting the dazed woman, and sighed, concern evident in his brow.
"President Quinn has been different since discharge, often spacing out like this," Sean Carter grumbled, standing by Felix.
Felix waved his hand, closing the office door, and spoke softly, "Let her adjust on her own. Sienna is a smart woman who knows what should and shouldn’t be done."
"I hope so!"
Sean agreed from the side.
Ding!
A text message alert broke the afternoon silence, pulling Sienna’s thoughts back.
It was from Landon Lawson!
Sienna perked up immediately; Landon had finally contacted her.
