I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 311: In What Capacity to Return to the Old Residence
CHAPTER 311: CHAPTER 311: IN WHAT CAPACITY TO RETURN TO THE OLD RESIDENCE
"It’s okay, this must be your first pregnancy, right? It’s normal not to have experience. Don’t hesitate to ask others if you’re unsure about anything. Pregnancy is a sacred mission that allows life to continue. Don’t be embarrassed."
"This is my second time." Sienna Quinn smiled, considering that if she counted her past life, this would be her fourth pregnancy. Having lived two lives, she naturally knew a thing or two about this.
For a moment, she couldn’t think of who to tell this news to, or rather, who she could tell.
After the blood test and physical examination, Sienna left the hospital with a bag of medicine.
She needed to follow the doctor’s advice, eat well, take good care of herself, and relax in order to have a healthy and happy baby.
Sienna returned to the apartment feeling relaxed. As usual, she pushed open the door and immediately received a call from the Butler Lawson of the Lawson Family villa, asking her to return no matter what.
Sienna drove to the Lawson house, walked through the big garden, and entered the hall, where she saw the bustling house staff in a hurry.
Sienna was puzzled, wondering what was going on. Since when had the servants become so "diligent"?
Butler Lawson approached immediately upon seeing Sienna return. "Miss Quinn, you’re finally back. The young master is looking for you."
His face lit up with joy, genuinely happy for Sienna, hoping that this kind-hearted girl would find happiness.
Sienna was startled, torn between being happy to meet that man or being more worried about her own situation.
"Oh, is there something he wants to discuss with me?"
Sienna inquired about Landon Lawson’s reason for returning this time.
Butler Lawson shook his head. Matters concerning the master were never something they could ask about.
Sienna sighed, knowing it was pointless to ask. A man as cold as him, how could anyone guess his thoughts?
"The young master is waiting for you in the room." The butler kindly reminded her.
Sienna snapped out of her thoughts, mumbled an "oh," and went upstairs.
Her emotions were complex, initially thinking that even if they didn’t divorce, she could maintain her relationship with Landon Lawson like before. This way, she could be more at ease, and at least her pregnancy wouldn’t be easily discovered by him.
But yesterday, after their confrontation, today he wants her to come over. What was his intention? Could he have changed his mind about agreeing to the divorce?
Divorce...
Sienna silently repeated the word in her heart and had to admit that the thought of divorcing Landon Lawson made a pang of pain shoot through her heart.
Sienna bitterly questioned why she couldn’t control herself, why she subjected herself to insult when the man expressed such dislike and disdain for her.
She might as well shake her head, wave goodbye confidently, making sure her hard-earned composure over the years would not be in vain.
Standing at the staircase, she was stuck between moving forward or staying back. Finally, she took a deep breath, gathered her courage, and walked straight to the room she shared with Landon Lawson, as if resigned to face whatever awaited.
Hesitating by the door again, she wondered whether to knock or just walk in.
It was only at this moment that she realized, although she didn’t want to admit it, she’d grown to love him so deeply it was ingrained in her bones.
She resolved to change her timid nature, to no longer love him, and to offer both of them a conclusion.
Sienna pushed the door open with determination and was met with the sight of a tall and imposing man sitting on the sofa.
"The butler said you’re looking for me. Is there something you need?" Sienna asked Landon Lawson, attempting to keep her tone calm.
Landon Lawson had been coldly staring at Sienna. This woman was getting bolder, disappearing early in the morning. He tried to contact her but found her phone was off.
His strong sense of pride naturally kept him from seeking Felix Orwell, even though that man knew everything about Sienna. Landon wouldn’t let anyone know his feelings.
Landon scrutinized Sienna, her pale face showing signs of fatigue, puzzled by why she was so tired so early in the morning.
Faintly, he felt a pang of heartache, but even if he did, he couldn’t voice it.
He couldn’t let Sienna get entangled again.
Sienna gripped the medicine in her pocket, not wanting him to know she’d been to the hospital. If Landon found out, he’d insist on her getting rid of the baby, just like yesterday.
This stubbornness baffled even herself.
"Pack up and come with me to the manor to see my mother."
After saying this, Landon got up, and the cold aura he exuded left Sienna somewhat dazed.
What did he mean by this? Taking her to the manor? In what capacity?
Landon walked past Sienna, his keen sense of smell acutely noticing the different scent on her. That night of intimacy, he was captivated by the sweet and fresh fragrance that no perfume could replace. He admitted he was addicted to this scent.
But today, the strong smell of disinfectant masked her fragrance, and Landon was displeased.
"Where did you go?" Landon abruptly stopped and asked.
Sienna’s body stiffened. She hadn’t yet processed the return to the manor, and now she was trapped by his question.
"I just went for a walk."
Landon became intrigued. He turned to her, playfully looking down at the much shorter woman before him.
"Oh? Just a walk, and you ended up at the hospital? Don’t think you can hide anything from me. If I want to know, there’s nothing I can’t find out."
Sienna wanted to retort, to shout that her hospital visits were none of his concern, but upon meeting Landon’s deep-set eyes, her anger momentarily evaporated.
Landon had already noticed her hand in her pocket. He quickly forced it out, causing the medicines to spill onto the ground.
Touching Sienna’s hand, he realized her body temperature was noticeably high.
He had been careless earlier, mistaking her flushed cheeks as shyness upon seeing him, unaware it was a symptom of fever.
Sienna looked at the scattered medicines, feeling restless. She knew Landon was not one to be trifled with, but was this necessary to assert his dominance over the household?
Awkwardly, she bent down to pick up the meds. Right now, she could sacrifice everything for the wellbeing of her unborn baby. She had endured before, and now even more so.
As Landon watched her picking up the meds, a strange feeling swept over him. What could he say about this woman?
Strong? Enduring? Or should he call her pitiful?
After gathering the medicine, Sienna spoke, "I’ll take my meds and be down soon."
Landon opened the door and slammed it shut behind him, leaving Sienna alone in the room.
At this point, Sienna was so hungry her stomach felt like it was sticking to her back. She originally planned to make something to eat before taking her meds, but as luck would have it, Landon returned and demanded she go to the manor, leaving no time for a meal.
Sienna, feeling weak, poured herself a glass of water to take her meds, but just then, a knock sounded on the door.
Sienna set the glass down and opened the door, revealing a young maid.
