I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 312: A Change in Attitude
CHAPTER 312: CHAPTER 312: A CHANGE IN ATTITUDE
"Miss Quinn, the young master wants you to come down for dinner."
The young maid kept her head down, not daring to meet Sienna Quinn’s eyes. The servants often gossiped about her. Being Landon Lawson’s wife meant living under public scrutiny, with every little move getting talked about by others.
Especially since this madam went through tremendous efforts to marry into the Lawson Family, only to disappear the next day, leaving behind a divorce agreement.
Such a unique madam intrigued the servants as well.
"Oh, thank you."
Sienna said softly, not asking any more questions despite her inner confusion.
Have dinner? She touched her abdomen, where a small life was growing. He needed to eat too, right...
No matter Landon Lawson’s intentions, she decided she should fill her stomach first.
Sienna followed the maid downstairs, observing the bustling servants in the hall. Her brows raised slightly, feeling that something seemed a bit off with the situation.
The Lawson Family’s living environment had always been cold and quiet. Even though Sienna hadn’t returned in five years, the house probably hadn’t been this lively in a long time.
Butler Lawson stood at the doorway, looking at Sienna with sparkling eyes, sincerely happy for her.
Butler Lawson turned to look at Landon Lawson sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper. He was focused on the news, seemingly unconcerned with what was happening around him.
The other servants downstairs had a complete change in attitude toward Sienna.
"Miss Quinn, please rest here for a bit. The food will be ready soon, so please don’t worry."
The usually most snobbish and gossip-prone auntie said.
Sienna noticed the change in attitude but didn’t embarrass her, understanding that these people just acted based on the master’s mood.
Sienna still remembered how poorly these people treated her in the past.
Landon Lawson had no feelings for her, and these people were snobbish, eager to demean her and not showing any respect. Only the butler was relatively kind to her.
This time around, due to the change in Landon Lawson’s feelings for her, their attitudes had changed as well.
It was somewhat amusing.
Previously, Landon paid her no mind, so naturally, those people didn’t either. This time, it unexpectedly brought her such "benefits."
With an expressionless face, Sienna nodded. She had nothing to complain about and casually sat on the opposite end of the sofa, furthest from Landon Lawson.
Was it an illusion? Sienna felt that since she sat down, the chill emanating from him grew colder, as if it aimed to freeze her. She couldn’t help but shrink her shoulders; she couldn’t recall what she had done to offend him.
Landon saw Sienna sitting there like an innocent little rabbit and couldn’t help but furrow his brows tightly. Just yesterday, she said she wanted to be with him and have a child, yet now she deliberately distanced herself.
Was this playing hard to get? Or were the things she said all lies?
The initial good mood vanished into thin air.
"Don’t come back to the old house with me anymore," Landon said coldly.
Sienna was surprised, blurting out, "Why?"
The man gave a disdainful smile, slowly uttering hurtful words, "Do you want to infect others with your illness? Or drag your sick self around to the public to accuse me of mistreating you?"
Hearing Landon say this left Sienna speechless. When had she become such a petty person in his eyes?
"I understand."
Sienna said solemnly, just being his wife in name.
Due to a cold and fever, Sienna’s throat was a bit sore, making her voice somewhat hoarse.
Landon frowned slightly, pretending not to care.
Was she at the hospital today because she was sick?
Internally, he was a bit worried about her illness. Had it become so severe without mentioning it before?
The servants, seeing Landon frowning, whispered among themselves, wondering if the relationship between these two had not improved?
Before marrying in, Landon’s attitude towards her was evident to all.
They looked at Sienna with complicated expressions.
Landon saw the gaze of each person, his expression slightly changing, coldly scanning the room. He was very dissatisfied with the servants’ attitude towards Sienna.
"Butler," Landon suddenly called out.
The butler hurried over, "Young Master, what are your orders?"
Landon looked disdainfully at the servants standing nearby and said, "Dismiss all the servants and replace them with ones who can distinguish who the real master is."
The butler was stunned, unsure why Landon suddenly made such a decision, standing there not knowing what to do.
Hearing Landon planned to dismiss them, the servants began to plead, "Young Master, please don’t dismiss us, we will work hard and never slack off again."
"Yes, Young Master, please have mercy, my family is struggling, I have children to feed... I beg you..."
Landon stood up, his face cold, "I’ve seen enough of people like you who bully the weak and fear the strong. Don’t make me repeat myself; leave the Lawson Family."
Sienna stared at Landon in a daze.
Was Landon speaking up for her?
No, no, this must be a mistake.
Hearing the servants’ pleas, Sienna felt uneasy, but her position in the Lawson Family was awkward; what right did she have to help them stay?
The butler understood Landon’s intention and quickly advised the servants, "Stop it! Don’t anger Young Master Lawson."
Hearing the butler, everyone fell silent. Landon was known for his strictness and fairness, and once his words were spoken, they wouldn’t be taken back.
As they left, they glanced at Sienna, realizing their error in judgment—Landon’s feelings for her were not as rumored.
Now seeing the situation clearly, it was too late. They left the hall, heading to the back courtyard to pack their belongings.
The chef hiding in the kitchen, hearing all that happened outside, breathed a sigh of relief, lucky to have not been present, or his job might be at risk too.
Once the meal was prepared, Sienna followed Landon to the dining table after he stood up. The two silently ate their meal without exchanging a single word.
After eating her fill, Sienna gave him a nonchalant look.
"Chloe is waiting at home for me. I should head back," Sienna said, about to leave.
Landon signaled the butler with his eyes, and the butler knowingly closed the villa door.
"Miss Quinn, the young master has more to say to you."
Facing the butler blocking her way, Sienna frowned, turning to glare at Landon.
"If I’m not mistaken, Chloe should be with Felix Orwell now."
"How do you know?"
Sienna was taken aback. How did Landon know about this?
It only took a moment for Sienna to realize that someone with Landon’s power could find out anything with ease.
