I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 319: Turmoil in the Yates Group
CHAPTER 319: CHAPTER 319: TURMOIL IN THE YATES GROUP
Sienna Quinn was taken aback and knew that Landon Lawson was trying to make her back off. But once she realized this, she not only didn’t resist but instead wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back willingly.
This time, it was Landon Lawson who was surprised. After enjoying Sienna’s initiative for a moment, Landon came to his senses and suddenly pushed her away.
"Get out! I don’t need your pity!" Landon Lawson’s long fingers tightly grasped Sienna’s chin as he said coldly, "I don’t want you to be with me out of some debt!"
Although Sienna was in pain from the grip, she finally understood what was bothering Landon Lawson.
"I’m not pitying you, nor am I with you just to repay you," Sienna responded decisively, looking into his eyes.
Landon Lawson naturally wouldn’t believe it. The words Sienna had said on the recording still echoed in his ears. How could he believe her?
Sienna stood up to leave, turning back to Landon Lawson before departing, saying, "I will prove it to you."
At breakfast, the servants stood in an orderly line, ready to serve.
Landon Lawson and Sienna Quinn sat facing each other, slowly savoring the delicious spread in front of them.
Sienna picked up a poached egg and placed it into Landon’s bowl, knowing that his right hand was currently unusable, and considerately cut it into small pieces for him.
Landon didn’t refuse and continued to eat in silence, keeping his head down.
"Butler." Landon suddenly spoke with authority in his calm tone, "Replace all these servants, leave no one behind."
Since Landon heard there was a recording of Sienna’s conversation with someone, he knew there had to be a traitor among them. He just didn’t know who it was yet. Now, he needed to draw the traitor out.
He believed that the traitor would eventually reveal themselves and that among the servants, someone else knew who the traitor was.
The servants, upon hearing they were to be replaced, quickly knelt down, begging to stay. They knew that if they were driven out of the Lawson Family, they wouldn’t get treatment as good anywhere else.
"Young Master Lawson, please let us stay!"
Looking at the pitiful scene of the servants kneeling and pleading, Landon was unmoved. He stood up and, looking down from above, said slowly, "Don’t blame me for this. Blame the one among you who turned traitor, causing everyone to lose their jobs."
The crowd was infuriated with hatred towards the person responsible.
Only the maid’s face turned pale. If Landon Lawson found out, she would be in serious trouble. Landon would never let her off.
"Master... Lawson..."
The maid suddenly knelt down with a thud, trembling and pale with fear.
Landon’s eyes were icy, and a cold murderous intent glinted as his lips pressed into a thin line.
Without further questioning, the moment she knelt, Landon understood.
"Butler, throw her out," Landon ordered.
"Young Master Lawson, please!" The maid’s face was white with fright. Being thrown out by Landon Lawson meant she couldn’t even think about staying in this city any longer. It’s challenging to find another place to settle.
Sienna watched Landon in a daze, witnessing him suddenly losing his temper at home, inexplicably.
But Landon always had his reasons for doing things. Watching the way he handled matters, Sienna couldn’t help but secretly admire him, even revealing a smile of appreciation. From his demeanor, he seemed to have warmed up a bit.
Landon turned his head and saw the smile at the corner of the woman’s mouth, her adorable little fangs showing in the air.
Landon was momentarily dazed, then his mouth turned up in a smile as he left with Nolan Shaw, who had been waiting outside the door.
Although he still didn’t greet Sienna, Sienna felt her mood wasn’t as bad anymore.
Having rested for these few days, she thought she should also check on the company. With Axel Yates gone, Yates Group must have fallen into chaos.
Just as she walked out of the Lawson Family, Sienna bumped into Chiara Thorne, who was holding Sienna’s precious son, Evan Quinn, by the hand.
"Mommy!" Having not seen Sienna in a few days, Evan’s first reaction was to throw himself eagerly into Sienna’s arms, showering her face with kisses.
Sienna hugged Evan tightly, her eyes red with emotion. These days, she had been busy dealing with Landon Lawson and the baby in her belly, and had neglected Evan.
"Chloe, I haven’t picked you up in days. Are you mad at Mommy?"
Evan shook his head, blinking knowingly, "No, I know it’s because you’re trying to get along with Daddy."
His words made Chiara Thorne laugh, causing Sienna’s face to blush bright red.
Sienna personally took Evan to kindergarten, holding his small head tenderly in her arms, "Be good at kindergarten, I’ll personally pick you up after school, and you can come home with me tonight, okay?"
Hearing this, delight shot from Evan’s bright eyes, and he couldn’t believe his ears, "Really?"
Sienna smiled and nodded, "Of course, it’s true."
"I don’t believe it! Pinky swear!" He held out a small hand towards Sienna, who shook her head helplessly and hooked his little finger with hers.
After sending off Evan, Sienna drove with Chiara Thorne towards the company.
"Why were you at the Lawson Family’s villa?" Sienna asked, hands on the steering wheel, looking at Chiara in confusion.
The latter gently coughed, "Chloe said he wanted to see you."
In fact, it was not Evan but Felix Orwell who worried that Sienna might not go to the office today. So he had Chiara take Evan over, knowing that for Evan’s sake, Sienna couldn’t help but return.
Sienna didn’t think much of it, but suddenly the ringing of a phone interrupted their conversation.
The caller ID showed that it was Danielle Carter.
Why did she suddenly think of calling her?
Connect to car Bluetooth, "Danielle, why did you suddenly think of calling me?"
"President Quinn, you must come back right away. The company is in utter chaos now."
Danielle Carter’s voice was tinged with a sob.
Screech!
Slamming on the brakes, Sienna pulled the car to the side of the road and asked softly, "What’s going on?"
"President Yates... President Yates hasn’t returned for many days, and now the entire company is in disorder," Danielle, a mere assistant, lamented. Since Sienna left, Axel Yates had been handling the company, but recently he vanished without trace, unreachable by anyone.
The company was in turmoil.
"Don’t cry. I’ll be back now." Sienna hung up the phone, gripping the steering wheel tightly.
Chiara Thorne frowned, her doll-like face showing displeasure.
"Are you really planning to go? After all Axel Yates did to you? Working at Yates Group for five years, you’ve brought them so much profit. But what did he do? He actually tried to shoot you." Every time Chiara thought of this, her body trembled uncontrollably. She simply couldn’t understand why someone like Axel would be so ruthless to Sienna.
Is there really no regard for old feelings at all? Truly heartless!
