CHAPTER 332: CHAPTER 332: PETITION

The girl couldn’t understand why she had to give up on the coffee shop she had invested so much effort into, especially now when it seemed to be doing so well. How could she be willing to let it go just like that?

"The decision came from above; naturally, they have their reasons," Sienna Quinn resolved not to interfere with the Yates Group’s matters. After all, it ultimately wasn’t her company, and she was no longer an employee there, so she had no right to get involved.

Seeing Sienna say this, the girl visibly deflated.

"President Quinn, I know you’ve resigned, but if you don’t do something about this, what are we going to do? It’s our hard work," the girl said, her voice choking up. Watching her made Sienna feel a pang of sympathy. Sighing, she said, "I’ll find out what’s going on."

With that, she picked up her phone and stepped aside to call Danielle Carter.

"President Quinn!" Danielle’s voice lit up with excitement at Sienna’s call.

"What’s going on with the Yates Group lately? I heard they’re closing the coffee shop beneath the hospital?"

"It’s all because of Director Linton..." Mentioning him made Sienna’s head ache. Anson Linton, aside from Axel Yates, held the largest share in the Yates Group. Although he hadn’t been involved in gutting the company, he was always the one picking faults with Sienna.

When Sienna first took over the Yates Group, Anson Linton hadn’t made things easy for her.

Now that Axel Yates was missing, Anson was overly eager to become the head of the Yates Group.

"What did Director Linton say?" Sienna asked.

"He said the Yates Group’s coffee shops aren’t making much money, so he wants to shut them down."

Danielle, just a small assistant to the president, couldn’t make much impact even if she wanted to voice her concerns about this.

"Not making money?" Sienna chuckled coldly. She’d seen the financial statements before; the coffee shop was initially opened by Axel Yates’s mother. Even after Axel took over, he didn’t sell it off, thinking of helping his mother by managing it well.

And Coffee Star’s performance always had been decent, never causing Axel any trouble over the years.

"Why suddenly close the coffee shop?" Sienna’s expression turned dark and cold.

Danielle slowly explained, "Anson Linton claims the profits are insufficient to cover the company’s expenses and said the group doesn’t need such outlets. He accused Axel Yates of being too sentimental in business, and thus insists on closing the shop anyway this time."

"Alright, I’m going to the group right now."

"President Quinn, are you really coming?" Danielle was evidently excited. Handling this issue alone was tricky, but with Sienna, it was different.

Sienna had become Danielle’s pillar of support.

Sienna handed the milk tea back to the server and said, "Please deliver this to the VIP hospital room 302 across the street. I have to head to the company."

"President Quinn, are you going to the Yates Group?" The waitress seemed a bit excited.

Sienna nodded, understanding what she was worried about.

Seeing her nod, the other employees, who had been following the situation, cheered loudly.

The deafening cheer made Sienna laugh and rub her sore ears.

It seemed that she had to take care of this matter properly, no matter what.

Without delay, Sienna called a cab to the Yates Group, coincidentally running into Anson Linton at the entrance.

Anson was momentarily stunned to see Sienna, clearly not expecting her there.

"President Quinn, what wind blew you over today?" Anson sinisterly eyed Sienna, recalling that the internal board meetings had often noted that without her, the company would have quickly collapsed.

Not only did Sienna save the company, but she also exposed the mastermind behind the scenes; her astuteness and courage were unmatched, even by many men.

Though Sienna had saved the company, he had to guard against such a person ruining his plans too.

With a relaxed smile, Sienna replied, "Just here to take a look at the old company."

"If you’re just here to look around, you’re welcome. But..." Anson squinted, glaring intently at Sienna.

The warning in his tone was unmistakable, and Sienna certainly picked up on it.

"But what?" Sienna was quite adept at playing dumb.

Anson laughed softly, closing the distance between them to speak in a voice only the two could hear, "This company no longer concerns you. I advise you not to meddle. Besides, you have your company now. Who knows if you’re here to pry into our secrets?"

Sienna’s lips curled into a charming smile.

"Director Linton, if I truly wanted to know the company’s secrets, I hardly think anyone could stop me. It depends on whether I want to know, not whether you can stop me."

Sienna had the confidence to back up her words, something even Anson had to admit.

Anson clenched his teeth, but there was nothing he could do about Sienna.

With a cold smile, he said, "Just a friendly warning: it’s best not to meddle."

Then he turned and left with his entourage.

One of Anson’s assistants occasionally looked back at Sienna and whispered, "We could just get security to throw her out. If she’s not in the company, how could she stop us?" The assistant didn’t understand.

Anson replied coldly, "Sienna worked here for five years. If we throw her out when she comes back, the news will spread, making us seem ungracious."

"I guess I was too simplistic, not seeing the bigger picture." The assistant finally understood Anson’s thinking.

Anson looked coldly at the assistant, "That’s why I’m the director, and you’re just an assistant."

The assistant shuddered, eyes flickering with an intriguing light.

Internally, the assistant snorted, "You might have money now, but who knows what the future holds."

Sienna stood watching them leave, her beautiful eyes narrowing sharply, recognizing that this issue wasn’t easy to resolve.

But Sienna wasn’t in a hurry. She turned and took the elevator to the office area upstairs.

To find out the truth, she needed to start with Danielle Carter.

After all, it had been a while since Sienna had visited the company, and she wasn’t up-to-date on internal affairs.
