CHAPTER 340: CHAPTER 340: RETURNED TO HIS SIDE

At night, Sienna Quinn tossed and turned in bed, Felix Orwell’s objections, combined with her guilt towards Landon Lawson, made it difficult for her heart to regain the peace she desired.

Things were becoming more and more complicated, and Sienna knew she couldn’t escape. She had to resolve each issue to untangle the mess her life had become.

The next day, Landon Lawson sent Evan Quinn over. Seeing the little one almost recovered, Sienna held him in her arms with heartache.

"Mommy, look, I’m almost all better. I’ll be able to go back to kindergarten in a couple of days," Chiara Thorne said with a cheerful smile, hoping to ease Sienna’s guilt and not wanting her existence to be a trouble for her parents.

"Do you still wish to go back to daddy’s place?"

"Yes, of course, but I wish even more that the three of us could go back together," Chiara playfully nodded.

Looking at the face that bore an 80-90% resemblance to Landon Lawson’s, Sienna made a decision in her heart.

Sienna found Chiara and told her she planned to leave Evan Quinn at the Lawson Family villa and that she wouldn’t be taking the child out for a while.

Chiara exploded upon hearing this.

"Sienna, I really don’t understand what you’re thinking. Last time, when you sent Chloe to the Lawson Family, I could think you wanted Chloe to have a complete childhood, but this time, what are you trying to do?"

Chiara paused and continued, "Look at Evan Quinn; he’s been there just a few days, and he’s already broken out in a rash. If you’re not distressed, I am! I won’t agree to send Chloe back this time, no matter what!"

With that, Chiara held Evan Quinn tightly in her arms.

But Sienna thought about how Chloe’s childhood lacked fatherly love, how the environment he lived in forced him to mature prematurely. Initially, Sienna thought she could compensate for his lack of a father.

But when the time came, she realized she simply couldn’t make up for it.

Moreover, it was just a minor rash, not something Landon Lawson could control.

Sienna’s head ached fiercely, and she patiently explained to Chiara, "Chiara, I told you before that Evan Quinn was hospitalized because he had a minor rash. This disease is very common in children, don’t blame everything on Landon Lawson!"

"What a coincidence then, Chloe gets sick only at his place. Even if it’s not Landon Lawson’s neglect, it just proves that Evan Quinn and he are incompatible, so you shouldn’t send Evan Quinn back!" Chiara stubbornly refused to relent.

Evan Quinn, suffocated by Chiara’s embrace, gently struggled and said, "Ms. Thornton, I’m almost suffocating..."

Chiara quickly released her hold and looked at Evan Quinn, her eyes filled with a mother’s concern, as if looking at a fragile porcelain doll.

"Chloe, are you okay? It’s all Ms. Thornton’s fault for hugging too tightly."

Evan Quinn took the opportunity to slip out of Chiara’s arms, came to Sienna’s side, and mischievously blinked at Chiara.

"Ms. Thornton, I actually want to go to daddy’s place. He’s so lonely on his own, and I’m much happier than he is. I have your love, but daddy is all alone. I want to keep him company; I want him to be as happy as I am. Then I can be at ease, and when I’m at ease, mommy and Ms. Thornton will be too."

Hearing Evan Quinn’s words, Chiara couldn’t help but furrow her eyebrows, "What do you know at such a young age? Your father is not a good person; he might just be pretending!"

"Ms. Thornton, please don’t speak about daddy like that; he truly loves me. You misunderstand him!" Evan Quinn shouted at Chiara.

Chiara was displeased, "You’ve been brainwashed after just a few days there!"

Evan Quinn was always an obedient and understanding child. He had never spoken to Chiara like this before. But today, for Landon Lawson, he argued with Chiara, showing that his stubbornness ran deep like Sienna’s.

Once he made up his mind, he was determined to see it through.

Sienna squatted down, holding Evan Quinn’s hand, looked seriously into his deep eyes, and said, "Evan Quinn, Ms. Thornton is the one who cares for you the most; you shouldn’t talk to her with such an attitude. Besides, your Ms. Thornton is the most reasonable person, if you speak to her sincerely, she’ll surely agree."

Evan Quinn listened to Sienna’s advice, and his little face, knitted with tension, gradually relaxed. He shuffled his little steps, approached Chiara, and earnestly said to her, "Ms. Thornton, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have talked back to you."

Chiara lovingly held Evan Quinn on her lap, then looked up at Sienna, "Don’t think that just because you sweet talk me, I’ll agree to it. Consider me unreasonable this time."

Sienna smiled and sat down beside Chiara.

"I know your heart is soft despite your hard words. Think about it, Evan Quinn is his biological son, and he’s already given me custody, what else do you need to worry about?"

Sienna paused, then continued earnestly, "One should be magnanimous. That’s how I’m teaching Evan Quinn. It’s said that children reflect their parents’ character, and now is the best time for Evan Quinn’s moral development. If I keep him from seeing his father, what kind of person will he grow up to be? What will he think of me?"

Chiara, of course, understood these principles. She also knew that preventing Evan Quinn from seeing Landon Lawson would hurt the child.

"Fine, you win. You’ve got the most logic! Go on, go!" Chiara said, stiflingly.

Evan Quinn didn’t care if Chiara’s agreement was out of spite. He happily pecked her cheek with a kiss.

Chiara looked helplessly at the little rascal, her eyes filled with affection. She was really helpless against this child!

Sienna took Evan Quinn to Landon Lawson’s villa, but as she was about to press the doorbell, she suddenly hesitated.

At the thought of seeing Landon Lawson again, her heart tightened uncontrollably. This anxious and uneasy feeling disrupted all the preparations she had made beforehand.

"Mommy, let’s go inside," Evan Quinn urged.

Sienna responded with a hum, then resolutely reached out and pressed the doorbell.

Before long, someone came to open the door. In that instant, Sienna’s eyes widened fearfully, anticipating the possibility it might be Landon Lawson...

The moment the door opened, Sienna clearly felt her heart skip a beat.

"Miss Quinn... you’ve arrived!" the elderly butler said excitedly.

Sienna’s expression was initially stiff, but upon seeing the old butler, her heart suddenly felt both lighter and somewhat disappointed...

"Hello."

Seeing the old butler she hadn’t seen in five years, who had aged considerably despite still being in good health, Sienna felt a myriad of emotions. Time had flown too quickly, and those who cherished and cared for her were aging and slowly drifting away.

The old butler, eyes brimming with tears, looked at Sienna. Though he had a thousand words to ask her, he found himself unable to speak them in the end.

What meaning was there in rehashing the past? People should live in the present. More importantly, Sienna was no longer the Mrs. Lawson he had once diligently cared for.
