CHAPTER 341: CHAPTER 341: THE DOWNCAST DADDY

The old butler quickly stepped aside and said to Sienna Quinn, "Please come in!"

Sienna smiled and shook her head, "I won’t go in. Please take Evan Quinn inside for me. I’ll have to trouble you to take more care of Evan in the coming days. Thank you!"

The old butler looked at Evan, "Don’t worry, I will take good care of the young master."

Sienna maintained a gentle smile, "Then I’ll be going now... please take care of your health."

These words sounded like farewell words, yet they were fitting for the moment.

This parting might make it difficult to meet again; even though they are both in City A, if one doesn’t want to see someone, they can avoid them for a lifetime.

The old butler felt sad, "Miss Quinn... you must take care of yourself too."

Hearing the familiar voice, full of the old butler’s care, Sienna’s tears welled up, and she immediately turned around, not letting the old butler or Evan see her.

She tried to calm herself and said in the gentlest tone, "Okay."

After speaking, Sienna left with long strides.

The old butler held Evan’s hand and watched Sienna until she disappeared into the distance, only then did they enter the villa.

The old butler took Evan to Landon Lawson’s room. The stench of alcohol filled the air, making one nauseous.

The floor was littered with various bottles, and a disheveled, unkempt man sat sloppily against the bed.

Evan exclaimed in surprise, "Daddy..."

The man didn’t move, as if he was lifeless.

The old butler looked at him with pity, let go of Evan’s hand, quickly cleaned up the mess on the floor, then went to support Landon from the ground.

"Young master, young master is here! Please wake up!"

Landon opened his dazed eyes, and seeing the little figure standing at the door, he suddenly became spirited.

Just now, he was in a stupor and heard someone calling him daddy. He thought it was a drunken dream, not expecting it to be reality.

Ever since Nolan Shaw started investigating about Miles Grant, the more he dug, the deeper the water seemed. Even with his abilities, he found no clues, and Martin Kerr’s side was also at a standstill. Even his relationship with Sienna was unresolved.

All the troublesome matters piled up together, and his whole state worsened.

He rarely drank to avoid drowning in alcohol, yet this time he uncharacteristically wanted to drown his sorrows.

He thought it would be fine as long as he sobered up the next day. He just wanted to indulge once.

After his grandfather passed, Landon vowed never to do anything he’d regret, but reality told him he still wasn’t ready.

Originally sending Evan away was to avoid him seeing this side of him, yet he didn’t expect Evan to be sent back.

He thought it would be difficult to spend time alone with Evan in this life, yet here Evan was, calling him daddy sweetly.

"Chloe, Chloe!" Landon strode over and hugged Evan.

Landon’s stubble tickled Evan, making him giggle continuously, "Daddy, you need to shave!"

Listening to Evan’s heartbeat and smelling the milk scent on him, Landon felt immensely at peace.

"Okay, daddy will clean up now."

Landon’s eyes regained their usual spirit. Seeing Landon perk up, the old butler was also happy inside.

Evan obediently went to the living room to eat. Landon instructed someone to clean the room spotlessly, and the villa felt lively again.

After bathing and changing clothes, Landon appeared very spirited, as if the domineering president persona returned. Evan, looking at the handsome Landon, had stars in his big eyes, proud to have such a dad.

Evan’s eyes rolled around, unwilling to let such an excellent dad fall into the hands of a two-faced woman like Vera Yates.

"Daddy, aren’t you going to ask how I came back?" Evan cheekily climbed onto Landon, wanting to be held by him.

Landon’s gaze was deep; he could guess that it was because Sienna agreed. Evan wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t.

Landon looked at Evan coldly, "It must be that you little foodie wanted the sauerkraut fish here."

Evan wiped his mouth, feeling hungry at the mention of sauerkraut fish but restrained himself.

"No, no! Mommy sent me to accompany you. Ms. Thornton insisted you made me sick, but mommy explained to her with the doctor’s words, which is why I could come to see daddy."

Landon didn’t speak. Evan babbled on, and Landon listened, lost in thought.

It was rare that Sienna didn’t blame him for failing to care for Evan, and he thanked her for sending Evan to him again, to make up for his shortcomings with Evan.

But this gratitude was deeply buried in Landon’s heart. He was fair in matters of gratitude and resentment; he wouldn’t forget Sienna’s good, nor the wrongs he did to her, the harm he caused.

But...

His current state truly didn’t allow it, didn’t allow him to do so.

He was barely able to protect himself and found it hard to offer Sienna stability.

Moreover, most of the Lawson Family had already been put into that business deal.

A fierce light flashed in Landon’s eyes, and he coldly told Evan, "Enough, let’s eat first, the sauerkraut fish is ready."

Evan’s eyes lit up, and he happily ran to the dining table to eat the sauerkraut fish.

Sienna left the Lawson Family villa, preparing to go home. There were few taxis near the villa area, so she had to walk a long way to get to the main road to hail a cab.

Just as she was waiting for a car, a white Maserati stopped in front of her.

The car window slowly rolled down, and Sienna saw a familiar, stunning face—Vera Yates.

"Hello, Miss Vance, didn’t expect to see you here. So, did you go to the Lawson Family villa?" Vera asked sarcastically, looking at Sienna.

Sienna couldn’t be bothered to argue, "So what if I did, so what if I didn’t? At least I am still Landon Lawson’s legal wife, but what are you? Not even a nominal girlfriend anymore."

Enraged by Sienna’s words, Vera bit her lower lip. This Sienna was too arrogant. She swore that one day, she’d make her kneel and beg for forgiveness!

Vera pretended to be gracious, "You’re right. You don’t have to be so hostile; we have misunderstandings. Let’s find a place to chat?"

Sienna coldly refused, "I’m sorry, Miss Vance, there’s truly nothing for us to talk about. You should focus on pleasing men; don’t waste your time on me."

Coincidentally, a taxi came by, and Sienna flagged it down and quickly got in, leaving immediately.

Vera was so angry she could stomp her feet, bitterly hating Sienna for not knowing what’s good for her, yet she was helpless, with nothing she could do.
