I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 343: Maybe Letting Go Is for the Best
CHAPTER 343: CHAPTER 343: MAYBE LETTING GO IS FOR THE BEST
The tone in Axel Yates’ voice made Anson Linton quite displeased. He furrowed his brow and said with a cold snort, "Axel Yates, don’t forget who put you in the position you are in today. Without me, you wouldn’t be where you are now. Do you really think that just because you’re the CEO, you can do whatever you wish, and come to work whenever you please? Are you treating this company like a joke?"
Watching Anson Linton’s dramatic exit, Axel Yates spoke in a calm manner, with firmness, "Even if I do treat this company like a joke, it’s still better than you trying to hollow it out."
"What nonsense are you spouting? Stop making baseless accusations." Anson Linton became agitated as soon as Axel Yates said this.
"Am I really making baseless accusations? I think you know better than I do." As he spoke, Axel Yates slammed a few photos onto the table. Anson Linton picked them up and trembled all over, repeatedly asking, "How did you get these photos?"
"That’s not for you to worry about. You just need to know that I have them." Axel Yates smiled faintly. Anson Linton’s previous overbearing arrogance disappeared immediately.
Anson Linton slumped in his chair, saying, "So what exactly do you want?"
"Put away all your little schemes. Then I can let you stay, otherwise, don’t blame me for being ruthless." The man smiled menacingly.
Anson Linton tightened his lips, "Fine, I understand."
"In that case, let’s hope for a pleasant cooperation," Axel Yates slowly said.
When Anson Linton emerged from the room, his entire face looked off. Seeing his expression, the assistant dared not approach.
"Director Linton, how did it go?" The assistant murmured quietly, fearing Danielle might overhear, but Director Linton’s face was dark and unsightly.
"What are you standing around for? Hurry up and head back!"
The assistant was startled by the roar, gazed blankly at Anson Linton’s grim face, and then quickly followed him, not daring to ask anything further this time.
It was clear from his demeanor that he must have been humbled by Axel Yates.
After Anson Linton left, Axel Yates sat dazedly in his office.
Danielle Carter pushed the door open and entered, looking at Axel Yates. "President Yates, what should we do now?"
"There’s nothing more to do for now. Just keep the company stable." Looking at Axel Yates’s somewhat weary state, Danielle Carter wasn’t sure how exactly she could help him. But she knew she would strive to complete any task he assigned her.
After seeing Axel Yates again, Sienna Quinn had a lingering question in her heart—one she never chose to resolve with Landon Lawson.
Turning to look at the clear weather outside, she softly said, "Some things need to be discussed, no matter what."
Though Axel Yates had returned, somehow, the feeling he gave Sienna Quinn became increasingly dangerous.
She opened her office door and walked straight out, just catching Felix Orwell coming her way.
"Where are you headed?"
"I’m going to see Landon Lawson."
Felix Orwell was taken aback. Sienna had just returned from the villa not long ago. For the past few days, she’d been residing there—why was she now thinking of visiting Landon Lawson again? Could Landon Lawson’s position in her heart be so irreplaceable and crucial?
"Is there something you need from him? If you need help, I could assist you too, you know." Felix Orwell inwardly hoped Sienna would not look for Landon Lawson. At this point, Felix already understood that in her heart, he was no match for Landon.
Sienna halted in her tracks. "This matter can only be resolved by Landon Lawson, as it pertains to him."
Seeing Sienna’s stubborn demeanor, Felix Orwell gritted his teeth and forced a sudden cheerful smile. "If that’s the case, then go quickly and come back soon. Remember, if that punk dares to bully you, call me immediately. I won’t let him off easily."
Sienna burst into laughter. She hadn’t seen such a lighthearted Felix Orwell in a long time. This carefree, devil-may-care Felix not taking anything too seriously was the one she knew.
"Alright, if he dares to bully me, you’ll be the first to know."
Seeing the radiant woman before him, Felix’s heart finally bloomed. Since when hadn’t he seen her smile? Probably since Landon Lawson injured his right arm?
Felix repeatedly urged Sienna not to act on impulse and to make sure she asked the questions she needed answers to.
After Sienna made multiple assurances, Felix finally let her go. But as Sienna turned away, his gaze grew dim.
"Hope you’ll figure out what you truly want," he muttered melancholically. Yet, he couldn’t do anything about it. What was there to do? Everything he could do, he had already done over the past five years; if there were results, why wait until now?
From past incidents, Felix had realized Landon Lawson’s intentions and witnessed Sienna’s flustered state with Landon. The ever-calm Sienna only became unsettled regarding Landon. Just this fact alone sealed Felix’s defeat.
"Perhaps letting go is the right choice." With a self-mocking smile, Felix had thought things through alone in his office days earlier. Some matters just couldn’t be forced. His letting go might be in everyone’s best interest.
Sienna was oblivious to Felix’s determination. She needed to clarify and understand Axel Yates’s intentions.
Sienna drove to the Lawson Group, where Nolan Shaw’s eyes lit up upon seeing her arrival.
"President Quinn."
"Where’s President Lawson?"
"He’s in a meeting room right now."
"A meeting room? Then I’ll wait for him to finish." Sienna wasn’t in a rush; she knew the Lawson Group hadn’t been doing well recently. Though she hadn’t pried much, she’d heard bits and pieces.
Nolan Shaw made Sienna comfortable in Landon Lawson’s office, served her a cup of tea, and left her to her own devices.
Sienna sat on the sofa, her hands gently touching her belly, a faint smile playing on her lips.
"I never thought I’d be carrying your child once again." If she counted the past life and this one, she might have borne him four children altogether.
Perhaps, she and Landon Lawson were meant to be entwined in each other’s lives.
Even knowing that he was always fixated on the murderer of Miles Grant, though it irked her, she couldn’t deny she still couldn’t forget Landon Lawson.
