I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 43: Becoming a Dad by Surprise
CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 43: BECOMING A DAD BY SURPRISE
Danielle Carter lovingly patted Evan Quinn’s hair, her eyes full of affection: "He’s President Quinn’s son."
"Son? Sienna Quinn’s son?"
Landon Lawson’s pupils suddenly widened, and for the first time, he lost control of his emotions, a surge of anger erupting within him at that moment.
Sienna actually has a son? They hadn’t even divorced yet, and she had already had a child with another man?
The mighty President of the Lawson Group, to find himself suddenly a ’father’ one day?
"Very well, just splendid!" These words squeezed through the man’s teeth, his handsome face now filled with anger.
Not only did she suddenly flee from his side five years ago, vanishing for five whole years, but she also never contacted him during this time. Not only did she remain at a rival company working as his competitor, but now she has also made him a father without his consent. This green hat fits squarely on his head.
"Who is her husband?" Axel Yates? Or that unrestrained playboy from before? If she can be with him, how could it be either of those two? Did Sienna lose her eyesight? Or did her taste degrade so badly?
"President Quinn’s husband passed away. Raising a son alone isn’t easy." Danielle Carter looked at Evan Quinn with compassion, truly a pitiful child who lost his father at such a young age and now relies on his mother.
"Oh? Kid, come here and let me take a look."
Landon Lawson narrowed his eyes. He didn’t believe that man was dead. There’s an eighty percent chance this was her illegitimate child with some other man. The people he could think of were none other than Axel Yates and Felix Orwell.
Evan Quinn’s heart skipped a beat, as the man’s furious presence loomed over him. If he raised his head now, Landon Lawson would surely notice how similar their faces were, and his true identity would be revealed.
Although Evan Quinn wanted to acknowledge his biological father, since Sienna was so reluctant to mention Landon Lawson, she must have her reasons. Until he discovered those reasons, he wouldn’t confront Landon Lawson.
Despite the sudden situation, Evan Quinn’s dark eyes showed no sign of panic, remaining exceptionally calm.
The little body trembled lightly, continuously hiding behind Danielle Carter. The petite figure naturally evoked a protective instinct. Clearly, at this moment, Evan Quinn was quite afraid of this unfamiliar man before him.
The man’s powerful presence nearly suffocated Danielle Carter. Ever since she mentioned Evan Quinn being Sienna’s son, Landon Lawson seemed to become a different person.
Could it be that he transferred his hostility toward Sienna onto her son?
With this thought, Danielle quickly shielded Evan behind her.
"President Lawson, while you and President Quinn are competitors, it’s solely business-related. Whatever happens between you and President Quinn, I won’t interfere. But this is just a child; would you really act against a child?"
Summoning all her courage, Danielle faced Landon Lawson defiantly.
Landon narrowed his eyes, as if questioning whether she thought he would harm the child, gave a sarcastic smile, and turned to get in his car. Some questions are better directed at the person involved.
As the luxury car roared to life, the powerful engine noise and rush of air allowed Danielle to finally breathe a sigh of relief. Just moments ago, she was merely maintaining a façade of bravery. Fortunately, Landon didn’t make things difficult for her, or she truly didn’t know how she would’ve handled it.
"Sister Danielle, that man just now was Landon Lawson, the President of the Lawson Group, right?" No sooner had the man left than Evan Quinn looked up, watching the figure vanish from sight.
Danielle held Evan in her arms, her heart pounding from the close call. She’d actually dared to talk back to Landon Lawson.
"You’re quite familiar with quite a few people."
"What kind of person is he?" Evan Quinn was very curious. Just what kind of person was this daddy? After all, the information on the internet was lifeless, and he wanted to know what the real Landon Lawson was like.
Speaking of Landon Lawson, Danielle’s eyes betraying unmistakable admiration.
"He’s the most outstanding of young talents, achieving what he has at such a young age. The Lawson Group, under his leadership, has made great strides, making him the dream lover of many women."
Evan Quinn turned his head, noticing the admiration and excitement in her eyes, and couldn’t help arching his pretty eyebrows: "Seems Sister Danielle likes him too."
"What good does liking him do? Someone like me, a small bird, what would he see in me?"
"Rich and handsome as he is, he must have many women around him."
Evan’s eyes reflected clever thoughts. If he wanted to bring his mom and dad back together, he naturally had to understand the man. If he was really that unfaithful, it was best not to let him near mom. He didn’t believe for a second that, if nothing had happened back then, mom would choose to leave him.
And now, there’s that scheming woman beside him.
If he couldn’t get past Landon, he thought that mom wouldn’t stand a chance either.
"President Lawson isn’t just handsome, he’s not at all indulgent. Over the years, the only person by his side has been Vera Yates, indicating his profound devotion. There haven’t even been any rumors."
"Vera Yates? That celebrity? My mom is way better than her." Evan Quinn snorted disdainfully, that woman nothing but a mediocre, vulgar beauty. Mom could outshine her entirely, if she ever went into acting.
"Actually, I also think President Quinn is better." Danielle nodded, touching her chin, seriously agreeing with Evan Quinn’s words.
Both child and adult seriously pondered, in the underground parking lot, which woman was more beautiful.
Sitting in the car, Landon Lawson gripped the steering wheel, the veins bulging, and his eyes flickering coldly, his heart burning with rage.
"Sienna, let’s see how you explain this to me." The man snorted coldly. Ahead was the hospital, where the person he wanted to find was inside.
Meanwhile, Sienna was in line waiting for her medication. Sean Carter was nervously pacing back and forth, looking uncomfortable as he surveyed his surroundings.
"What’s wrong? Wouldn’t sitting be more comfortable?" Sienna wearily watched Sean Carter, his constant pacing making her eyes tired.
Sean looked pitiably at Sienna, who only then noticed the fine sheen of sweat on his forehead.
"President Quinn... I’m scared..."
From childhood, Sean feared hospitals, opting for medicine over shots unless absolutely necessary, even going out of his way while driving to avoid passing a hospital.
Sienna, having known him for years, naturally remembered this vulnerability of his, being reminded by his admission.
She suggested he go to the mall to pass time, calling him after her medication was done to pick her up.
"Sienna... you can’t tell President Orwell..."
He earnestly instructed Sienna not to inform Felix Orwell of this matter, since if Felix found out, it would undoubtedly earn him a scolding.
