CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER 50: EVAN QUINN IS MISSING!

This embrace was something Evan Quinn had eagerly awaited since he could remember.

Lying on the man’s shoulder, his arms wrapped around the man’s neck, breathing in the scent of Landon Lawson, the overwhelming sense of familiarity left Evan utterly captivated.

The little one’s soft, tender body lay on his shoulder, surprisingly not causing the anticipated aversion; instead, it evoked a certain sense of closeness, and even his voice became a bit more gentle.

Because of Landon Lawson’s intervention, things progressed exceptionally quickly. A hospital that would typically be overcrowded on a rainy day immediately made available a VIP ward.

Evan Quinn lay at the bedside, watching the unconscious Danielle Carter, cautiously asking Landon Lawson beside him, "Uncle, will Sister Danielle be okay?"

"She won’t!"

The doctor had just conducted a thorough examination of Danielle Carter. She only had a mild concussion and was temporarily unconscious due to the impact, nothing serious. The truck driver had been called for questioning due to brake failure.

Seeing the man’s tranquil face, Evan Quinn’s worried heart finally calmed down at this moment.

Landon Lawson knelt down, his gaze somewhat deep.

"You’re injured too; let me take you for a check-up."

With that, regardless of Evan’s opinion, he picked up the soft little body and headed out of the ward.

"Uncle, where are we going?"

"We’re going to draw blood!" The man’s voice carried a hint of excitement.

But the little one in his arms fell into contemplation. Why draw blood? There’s no need for a blood test.

At this moment, Sienna Quinn, in the meeting room, looked at the revised design plan by Sean Carter, nodding with satisfaction, "This is the plan I wanted."

Dominic Lowell blushed with shame, feeling utterly embarrassed. Originally, having Sean Carter added to the team had left the veteran employees dissatisfied, privately accusing Sienna of mixing business with personal matters. But upon witnessing Sean Carter’s abilities, everyone fell silent.

Bang!

Suddenly, the office door was pushed open, and the secretary outside looked at Sienna in a panic.

The latter frowned slightly as the secretary swallowed nervously, "Bad news, President Quinn, Danielle Carter got into a car accident."

"What did you say?" Sienna suddenly stood up. The abrupt motion and speed caused a brief moment of dizziness, making her vision go black as she fell backward.

Fortunately, Sean Carter, sitting nearby, reacted quickly to catch Sienna.

"Chloe, Danielle, let’s hurry to the hospital." Sienna tightly gripped Sean Carter’s clothes.

When Sienna arrived, an entire two-hour period had passed, and Danielle Carter had already woken up from her coma. Seeing Sienna rushing over, Danielle apologized with tears streaming down her face.

"President Quinn, I’m sorry."

Sienna looked around, only seeing Danielle but not Evan Quinn, grabbing her shoulders, lips trembling, "Where’s Chloe? Why can’t I see her?"

"President Quinn... I’m sorry, Chloe... Chloe is missing." Danielle’s tears fell continuously. She had only just awoken and started searching for Evan Quinn’s figure, but the nurse only said he was taken away by a man, with no further identification.

"What... what did you say?" Sienna’s body was trembling as her vision went black, and she completely fainted.

Sean Carter frowned, supporting Sienna. With the recent stress from the HR Group collaboration, Sienna had already been short on rest, and now with Evan missing, it only added fuel to the fire.

Sean Carter settled Sienna and went out alone to investigate.

...

Evan Quinn sat in a man’s house, looking at the large villa, and couldn’t help but pout. His so-called daddy really lived a life of luxury. Previously, he and his mummy had never lived in such a nice house, although Felix Orwell always insisted on letting them stay at his villa, but every time his mummy refused.

Landon Lawson sat on the sofa, observing the disciplined little one, despite his young age, and nodded with satisfaction. No doubt, this was his son.

Even though the paternity test results would take a few more days, every time he saw this little one, the shared gestures and intuitive feeling convinced Landon that this was indeed his son.

After conducting the paternity test, Landon Lawson brought Evan Quinn back to his home.

"Who is your father?" Landon Lawson asked slowly, though his heart was almost certain, he wanted to hear the answer directly from Evan.

Evan’s eyes flickered; did he recognize him?

"My daddy passed away." He replied, his face full of sorrow. His poised performance could have fooled anyone, even Landon, this time.

Landon’s brow furrowed, passed away? Was Sienna the one who told him that?

The sound of joints cracking echoed as Landon clenched his fists. Sienna truly had gone to any lengths.

Evan keenly understood the peril he was in, knowing that every word and action had to be cautious; otherwise, Landon would easily detect any inconsistency. Fortunately, he had mastered the art of feigning innocence and acting cute.

His innocently adorable face, coupled with being four years old, was his best disguise.

"Uncle, when is my mummy coming to pick me up?"

"Your mummy?" Landon smiled, calculating the time. Had Sienna already arrived at the hospital? Would she realize Evan was now with him?

"Isn’t it nice here?"

"It is. Uncle’s house is big, and there are many servants, but where mummy is, that’s my home." Evan spoke sincerely.

Landon’s eyes narrowed slightly; are these the words of a four-year-old?

The butler brought over a bowl of ginger red sugar water, placing it in front of Evan. Seeing his delicate and refined little face, the butler was slightly stunned, and after glancing at Landon, a broad smile spread across the butler’s lips.

"Congratulations, young master. If the old master in heaven sees this, he will be very pleased."

This time, Landon did not refute but nodded gently.

The old butler, satisfied, stroked his smooth chin, chuckling, "Young master, you’ve finally come around. We thought you would never seek out another mistress, and to our surprise, you’ve brought home a little master."

Landon watched the serious little one drinking the ginger red sugar water obediently, without fuss, displaying an incredibly obedient demeanor.

However, on Sienna’s end, it was a frantic search.

"Were there any prior signs or anyone causing issues?" Sean Carter was currently the calmest person.

Danielle Carter, tears welling up, tried hard to recall, shaking her head vigorously, "President Quinn is usually a very good person, besides having just returned to the country, she wouldn’t have any enemies."

Sienna suddenly stood up, her reddened eyes filled with intense anger, "Vera Yates, it must be her; she’s always wanted to destroy me, hasn’t she?"
