CHAPTER 6: CHAPTER 6: ENEMIES MEET AGAIN

"President Quinn?" Danielle Carter’s words pulled the distracted Sienna Quinn back to reality. She composed herself and said calmly, "Let’s go."

Evan Quinn, little Evan, wasn’t surprised by his mom’s brief soul-drifting moment. He stuck his tongue out and said to Danielle, "My mommy does this often; she must be daydreaming about my stunning beauty again."

Sienna Quinn: "..."

Just because once she got distracted while looking at his face, which was a spitting image of Landon Lawson’s, and replied that she got lost in thought because he was too handsome. After that, every time she got distracted, he would blame it on his own looks.

Unable to resist, she kissed the little rascal’s face again, causing him to furrow his brows and exclaim softly.

This simple interaction made Sienna momentarily forget all the anger she had been feeling.

Once again, she felt that abandoning those contraceptive pills was the best life decision she ever made.

The pain she endured in her past life and the hardships she experienced abroad in this life became insignificant because of her adorable son.

She had considered living a stable life abroad with him, but couldn’t bring herself to settle!

The betrayals, humiliation, and heart-wrenching pain they inflicted on her in the past life... her two kidneys, her three lives with her two children...

How could she simply let it go!

If not for the heavens granting her a second chance, how could she and her son be here, safe and sound?

More than an hour later, Sienna arrived at the company’s arranged apartment hotel.

After taking them to lunch, Danielle sent them back to the apartment hotel and said goodbye to her, "So, President Quinn, if there’s nothing else, I’ll head back to the company. Please rest well. There’s a welcome party tonight, I believe the boss mentioned it to you? I’ll come to pick you up at seven tonight?"

Sienna nodded gently, "Alright, thank you, Assistant Carter."

The company’s arranged apartment hotel was quite nice, quiet amidst the hustle and bustle. Three kilometers away was the business district and the company, with a villa area at the back. None of the routes coincided with those of the Lawson Family, the Quinn Family, or any known residence of the Lawson Family, which put Sienna at ease.

She wasn’t afraid of encountering them, just felt disgusted and sick.

After sending Danielle off, Sienna took a quick shower, set the alarm, and lay down beside her son.

"Mommy." The little guy hadn’t fallen asleep yet. Knowing his mom lay down, he snuggled his fluffy head into Sienna’s arms and said sweetly.

"Evan, mommy might be really busy now that we’ve returned, and I haven’t hired a nanny yet. When mommy’s not here, can you stay home by yourself, okay?" She had just returned and hadn’t had time to hire a nanny, and trusted friends were all abroad, so she could only leave him at home.

Luckily, the little guy was well-behaved and attentive, not only was he good-looking, his intelligence was also inherited from a certain someone, absurdly high. Fluent in English, French, and Chinese, with the exception of cooking, he could do almost everything. Typically, if her work computer got a virus or ran into any problem, he would be the one to fix it.

She remembered a few months back when he participated in a children’s intelligence competition abroad, he triumphed over children five or six years older than him, and won the championship directly.

Calling him a child genius wasn’t an exaggeration.

Thinking about this, Sienna held her son even tighter.

Luckily.

Luckily, the heavens gave her another chance to choose.

"Mommy don’t worry, Evan will behave. You handle the earning and support for now, and I’ll be responsible for being beautiful. When Evan grows up, you can be beautiful, and I’ll earn to support mommy." These words warmed Sienna’s heart.

She tilted her head to leave a gentle kiss on his forehead and replied with a hoarse voice, "Alright, mommy will wait for you to grow up and take care of me. Sleep now."

During the more than ten-hour journey, the little guy was either too excited or for some reason didn’t sleep much, now he must be exhausted.

Sienna, however, was accustomed to it; her previous work involved a lot of travel, needing to balance caring for him and working, she hadn’t slept well for these five years.

At first, she went to the U.S.A for training and study, then got transferred to France because of company project developments.

Fortunately, her grandfather left her some inheritance that the Quinn Family hadn’t taken completely, giving her partial funds so she wouldn’t be unable to afford living expenses.

In just a few years, she advanced from a project intern who knew nothing to the position of general manager. What supported her through these years was her obedient and understanding son, along with that deeply engraved hatred.

Baby, you’ve suffered following mommy for these years. Once mommy finishes avenging her past life’s enmities, we’ll return to France, or perhaps head to a town in Australia for a peaceful life.

Such thoughts ran through her mind, but she wasn’t entirely confident. Reclaiming her grandfather’s inheritance — dealing with Vera Yates would be easy, but facing Miles Grant and the Grant Family...

She certainly wouldn’t dare wish to confront the Lawson Family, especially Miles Grant who personally caused her harm...

As long as Landon Lawson doesn’t intervene in Miles Grant’s matters, she has around sixty to seventy percent confidence to make Miles Grant pay dearly, but as best friends, how could Landon Lawson not care about Miles Grant’s fate?

The only advantage is that the enemy is in the light while she is in the dark!
