I Have Divorced Your Sister, Why Are You Not Leaving?
Chapter 64
Chapter 64. Mom, you and him are way too close (Part 1)
Liu Pingping could hardly believe what she was seeing.
But then again…
On second thought, it wasn’t all that surprising.
Back when Su Qingyan was just a primary schooler, she had always clung to Li Mo, practically glued to his side, never wanting to leave him.
So it made sense for her to be close to him even now.
But Qingyan wasn’t a little girl anymore—
She was a university student.
Hanging on him like that just didn’t feel appropriate.
Right then, Su Qingyan suddenly realized—
She had completely forgotten her mom was in the house.
Her relationship with Li Mo had to be kept secret.
At least for now.
If her mom found out, she’d definitely lose it.
“Sorry, ge… I’m just used to hugging you.”
Su Qingyan was really in love with Li Mo.
Even though she had no plans to cross any lines before marriage,
She was still comfortable doing things that weren’t too over the line—
Like hugging him.
“Let’s go.”
After separating from him, she followed Li Mo toward the villa.
They walked past the pool and entered the living room.
“Mom.”
Su Qingyan stepped forward and greeted her.
But inside, she felt a little guilty.
Her mom and sister had called her so many times recently—
And she hadn’t picked up even once.
“Let’s eat first.”
Strangely enough—
Liu Pingping didn’t immediately interrogate her about dating like she had expected.
She simply smiled and asked her to eat.
But it didn’t take Su Qingyan long to figure out why.
Clearly, it was because Li Mo was there.
Her mom was saving it for later—
Once dinner was over, she’d definitely get lectured.
“Mom, your cooking is still as amazing as ever.”
She picked up her chopsticks and started grabbing food.
Su Qingyan had always loved her mother’s cooking.
No matter how many gourmet dishes she tried outside,
She still felt like her mom’s food was the best.
Liu Pingping didn’t say much. She kept serving food into Li Mo’s bowl.
“Xiao Mo, try this one.”
“This piece is the best.”
She served him again and again—utterly enthusiastic.
So enthusiastic that even Su Qingyan was shocked.
She knew exactly how her mom used to feel about Li Mo.
On the surface, both her mom and sister had treated him politely,
But that was just manners.
Deep down, neither of them had ever looked up to him.
But now?
Her mom was treating him so well.
She couldn’t help but question if what she was seeing was even real.
“Mom, why are you being so nice to him?”
Liu Pingping didn’t answer.
She couldn’t really explain everything that had happened.
Seeing that her mom didn’t want to talk, Su Qingyan didn’t press.
But she was honestly relieved.
She had assumed that after the divorce,
Her mom and Li Mo would be at each other’s throats.
But this—
This level of harmony was far beyond her expectations.
And it was a good thing.
Thinking that, she felt herself relaxing a bit.
Liu Pingping kept piling food onto Li Mo’s plate.
Her warmth resembled that of a real mother.
Even Su Qingyan felt a tinge of envy.
After dinner, the inevitable finally happened.
Once the dishes were done, Liu Pingping approached Li Mo and Su Qingyan as they chatted.
“Qingyan, come with me for a bit.”
Su Qingyan was nervous.
But she followed her mom to her room.
“Mom, your room is so pretty.”
“Wouldn’t it be great if you lived here permanently?”
Hearing her daughter’s praise, Liu Pingping thought back to what Li Mo had done for her.
Her heart warmed again, and her tone softened quite a bit.
“Are you dating someone at university?”
Su Qingyan hesitated, then nodded.
“Mm.”
Liu Pingping continued,
“Don’t you know that college relationships are extremely unreliable?”
She’d wanted to use Li Mo as an example—
But that didn’t feel right anymore.
“In college, people don’t have enough life experience.
They don’t know what the real world is like.”
“It’s easy to get fooled by sweet talk from someone average.”
“But by the time you wake up to reality,
It’ll be too late to turn back.”
Ai…
Liu Pingping sighed.
“Mom, don’t worry. My boyfriend is great.”
“He’s accomplished, respectful to elders, and well-off.
And I’ve always followed your teachings—
We haven’t done anything inappropriate before marriage!”
Su Qingyan made a serious promise.
That did ease Liu Pingping’s worries somewhat.
“I’m really glad you remember that, sweetheart.”
“A girl’s body is precious.”
“No matter what, you must save yourself for after marriage.”
“That’s how you respect both your husband and yourself.”
“I’m proud of you.”
“But… I still don’t agree with you dating right now.”
“You should break up.”
She still wasn’t on board with Su Qingyan being in a relationship.
Dating in college, to her, was a waste of time—
A distraction during the most valuable years.
“Then… Mom, can you give me a little time to think it over?”
Liu Pingping was surprised.
She hadn’t expected Qingyan to be this obedient.
One sentence and she was already asking for time to consider?
That really saved her a lot of trouble.
“All right, I won’t pressure you too hard.”
Su Qingyan rolled her eyes.
“Mom, this isn’t pressuring me? Who could possibly top you?”
She truly didn’t think anyone could be more relentless than Liu Pingping.
The pressure was unreal.
But right now, it was better to go along with it and stall.
“Oh, and one more thing.”
“It’s fine that you’re close to Xiao Mo, I understand.”
“But you’re not a little girl anymore.
You can’t just throw yourself at him for a hug anytime, got it?”
Su Qingyan let out a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, her mom hadn’t figured out the real situation.
“I got it, Mom. I’ll try.”
Liu Pingping looked resigned.
She knew how close Qingyan and Li Mo were.
Trying to change that…
Wasn’t going to be easy.
Just then, Li Mo walked in.
