I Made a Game Featuring Constellations
PAID Chapter 99
"Damn it!"
Burner’s voice echoed in the depths of his mindscape, a desperate cry trapped within his own consciousness, unable to reach the outside world.
Corruption? Now of all times?
They had been so close. To succumb to Beidos's corruption now was beyond infuriating.
He hadn’t even realized it. The remnants of the dark dragon’s corruption were buried deep within his body, a fragment left behind from his mother’s own descent into madness. In hindsight, it should have been obvious. His failure to consider that possibility was his greatest mistake.
"Yonyong… you said you'd stay with me," Latis's voice broke through his inner turmoil.
Through his body's eyes, Burner could see Latis, beaten and broken, standing before him. The pain in her expression tore at him.
He had promised to stay with her. To go wherever she went. To be her unwavering support. And yet here he was, mindlessly attacking her under Beidos’s influence. He was nothing but a failure.
Burner tried everything he could. He drew on the powers of heroes, tapped into his innate dragon strength, but no matter what he did, he couldn’t escape the mental prison or wrest back control of his body. All he could do was watch in helpless despair.
"I'm sorry, Latis…"
"Yonyong!"
Her voice was filled with desperation, and it made his heart ache. He wanted to tell her he was sorry, that he couldn’t make it out. That he might not be able to keep his promise to stay with her until the end.
But it was okay. He had accepted it.
If this was the end for him, he could live with that. Latis’s life and her cause were far more important than anything else. If his death meant she could defeat Beidos and fulfill her mission, he would gladly pay that price.
“Kill me, Latis,” he thought. “End me and defeat the dark dragon.”@@novelbin@@
But Latis’s actions defied his expectations.
“…This is my fault,” she murmured, her face filled with resignation.
