I Only Wanted A Class In The Apocalypse
Chapter 1803: He Can’t Break Free!
CHAPTER 1803: HE CAN’T BREAK FREE!
Yet there was no guarantee nothing bad would happen, or a chance would be missed in activating this rock.
"I’m sure when it’s fully active, I’ll be able to use it to break any limitations later on," and yet he was wrong this time about his assumption.
The rock kept absorbing any stat points Hye threw into his system without pause. What made Hye feel worried was when he noticed the rock sucking force was growing exponentially, not showing any signs of stopping or getting filled soon.
That was ok at first, but after ten straight hours of doing so, it was clear he was losing in this race of power. The rate he replenished his absorbed stats was growing slower than the pace that rock consumed them.
"Let’s stop here then," when he felt this method wasn’t working, he decided to take a break, replenish his stats, and perhaps give it a try to break through level two. And yet he couldn’t break free from the rock no matter how hard he tried.
"Screw it! If you don’t want me to break free, then I’ll force you to fully activate... Let’s see if you can stop me, the tycoon of power in this universe!"
Hye knew this wasn’t a time to act stingy or hold back anything. So, when he realised he couldn’t break free anymore, he started to use his big guns without holding back!
The first thing he did was to start using higher levels of his bones. He usually used up to silver grade, but now he started to use even the dark gold grade ones.
On top of that, he started to use the dark bones as well. And when he started using all this, the speed his crystal trees grew inside his crystal heart was astronomical!
Hye didn’t care about the speed his trees grew, he cared about the quality of crystals he would get from them. Nourishing the crystal heart with his bones didn’t just accelerate the growth rate of the trees, it also affected the grade of crystals produced from them.
Hye knew he wouldn’t win in a quantity competition against this rock, so he had to work hard towards increasing the quality. That was why he didn’t hold back and made sure to use higher grade bones.
"I think these crystals are way higher than the usual," Hye could see the colour and size of all crystals growing on the trees were different from what he used to harvest. As he did before, he took half of the harvest, planted the other half, before throwing a ton of bones without any care.
"I seriously need to focus on replenishing my stock of bones..." Hye just expended a large chunk of his bones to acquire this territory, and now he did the same. He spent enough to make him feel the loss, and yet he was sure the benefits he gained were way outweigh any loss.
He wasn’t quite sure what this rock could do, as he could tell just using it to break free from the system limits wasn’t the only use. The rock didn’t let him go when he wanted, and that meant it was risky to use it for such a purpose.
That was why he started to consider this wasn’t the main use of this rock. He kept his senses fully over this rock, trying to see or detect anything new happening.
The white veins that appeared before started to widen, coalesce, and cover up large spots of that rock. And as time passed, the entire rock changed from being pitch black into pure milky white.
"There is a new change happening..." When Hye thought this was the end of any changes happening to the rock, the end of consuming his stats, something new happened.
The rock started to show new types of threads, starting from his arms. It wasn’t white this time, it wasn’t in any colour actually, "It’s growing transparent!" Hye muttered in surprise when he saw this, "it’s looking... Amazing!"
He couldn’t help but feel amazed. When the rock started to go transparent, it felt like some sort of halo appeared around it. Hye watched the rock turn translucent while he never stopped providing it with enough stats, never stopped planting and harvesting, never stopped using his bones.
In the next twenty hours, the rock changed as a whole. It was now looking as if a magical crystal stood in front of Hye. it was all transparent, as if it was made of some sort of special glass.
And yet it felt like something was missing!
"I still can’t take off my technique, don’t tell me..." Hye could tell the transformation process of this rock wasn’t over. Yet in the next five hours, he kept providing stats to the rock as usual, but nothing happened.
"Something feels off..." Hye didn’t get why the rock stopped changing. At first, he thought he was giving less stats than the rock absorbed. But when he checked it again, all he saw was his stat meter growing and not decreasing!
He still lacked a few to hit the level two limit, and that didn’t make him feel any excitement. "I’m missing something, surely missing something..." he knew there was something stopping the rock from evolving, "if it hit the end of its progress bar, then it should have freed my hands. On top of that, I can tell the suction force for my stats grew weaker over the past few hours..."
Hye kept analysing everything related to this rock, trying to figure out what went wrong. "The good news is that I have no threat anymore in my life, the stats consumption rate is declining with every hour," he thought about that and felt more relieved, "still... I can’t break free..."
The theory he had in mind was if the rock wouldn’t let him free until the stat consumption stopped. For Hye he didn’t mind that, but he estimated it might take a bit longer than what he expected.
