CHAPTER 1804: THE BONES

"I’d give it a week at this rate," he tried to calculate it, "time to let others know I’ll be late," he messaged everyone, telling them he needed to leave to do something and wouldn’t come back for two weeks.

"Hmm, it seems they got it wrong and thought I went on a mission or something," Hye was surprised to get tons of complaining messages, be it from the pirate king or lady nymph as the two complained they wanted to go out and do their outlaw part. Also, his friends didn’t stop complaining, asking about when it’d be time for them to leave and move with him like old times.

"It seems I’ll need to think of something to let them vent steam at," Hye bitterly smiled, "the universe isn’t that safe, and I just got lucky to get away unscathed..."

He pushed this dilemma aside for the time being, while focusing more over the far stressing matter on hand, the rock.

Hye first thought he cracked it and figured out the right answer to the weird behaviour of that rock. Yet after the passage of four days, Hye started to have doubts regarding his theory.

"The consumption rate decline started to plateau since yesterday," he muttered to himself, while stating what he noticed so far, "it should continue the decline till it hits zero, not stop at this level..."

He waited for another day, and yet nothing new happened. It was as if the rock had lowered its consumption rate, but didn’t stop consuming his stats, "should I give it more time? Perhaps it needs to fill a reserve of power or something..."

Hye waited for two more days, and yet nothing happened. With this consumption rate, he didn’t need to go overboard and use his bones and crystals crazily like before.

Even if this was good news before, now and after six days of waiting, it became a liability for him. "I need to think of another theory," it was clear his old theory was wrong, and now he had to analyse everything once more.

The first thing he did was to retest everything he did before. He tried his blood, but it didn’t work. He tried to give his spirit power using his technique’s arms, but it failed. He tried Lucas, and he still couldn’t pass through the rock.

"I tried everything... Oh wait, I didn’t try replenishing my power using bones..."

Hye took out lots of his bones, preparing to absorb their powers. And yet when he did that, he didn’t get anywhere with that. "The rock didn’t show any reaction at all... Wait, what is that?!"

Hye took out lots of bones, making a large pile just next to him. The pile was too big to match even that rock in size and magnitude. And it was expected for a few bones to fall off and get over that rock.

When that happened, something finally new happened. Hye saw flashes of bright light coming from the area where the bones were covered. Watching this made Hye grin, "I found the right way to activate you," he even laughed while taking more bones out and throwing them all over the rock.

"What’s going on? Are you playing tricks with me now?!" Unlike what he expected, when he covered the rock with bones, nothing happened! He was sure of what he saw earlier, and that made him realise it wasn’t that simple as he expected.

"Let me rethink this again... I took lots of bones, and from them light appeared. It didn’t appear all over the area the bones touched, only flashes of light... That means... Not all the bones can be used by this rock!"

Hye’s thoughts paused at this point, before he started to recall what type of bones he took out earlier.

"I can’t remember, I took them all on a whim," he grew frustrated at this point, yet he calmed down himself, took a deep breath, before he started to think about this entire dilemma from a totally different angle.

"If I can’t remember what bones I took out, I can try all the bones, grade by grade, and play a little game of elimination before I find the right ones!"

He didn’t hesitate to take back all the bones he took earlier, then started taking out his bones grade by grade, colour by colour.

"Not even my highest-grade bone worked, let’s try the dark realm bones then," Hye took out samples of all the grades of normal bones he had, and nothing worked. But that all changed the moment he took green grade dark realm bones.

*Fwoosh!* *Fwoosh!* *Fwoosh!*

The bones just touched the rock and instantly vanished! With the great amount he took out, the sounds that came out from the rock were quite loud and shocking.

"At last! Ok, at least I got tons of bones after the last fights against those from the outer universe," Hye felt lucky that he replenished his reserves from dark realm bones.

Finding dark realm bones before was quite troublesome. But since he came here, he had fought forces from the outer universe quite often. His reserves from the dark realm bones were growing nicely to even rival the normal bones.

"It took an entire day for just this small part to change!" Hye spent an entire day taking out his green grade dark realm bones, covering the entire rock with, while the rock absorbed the bones as if it was acid meeting water.

Even at some point, the rock started to emit thick clouds of white mist.

Hye only used green grade dark realm bones so far but didn’t try any higher grade yet. He got lots of green bones, on top of that they were the lowest grade he got, so it wasn’t of big loss to feed these to the rock.

The only drawback was in the low amount of power stored within these bones. Hye didn’t mind it at first, but when he saw what his bones did to the rock, he couldn’t help but grow impatient.
