I Only Wanted A Class In The Apocalypse
Chapter 1807: Testing His Theory
CHAPTER 1807: TESTING HIS THEORY
"You want me to see if I can break through level one?!] Legend looked at Hye standing in front of him, without knowing if his king was joking around or was serious. Yet when Hye emptied a large number of crystals in front of him, Legend knew Hye wasn’t fooling.
"You know this isn’t possible, right?" Legend looked at Hye as if he was looking at someone who lost part of his memories, "we have a test to cross, or else we won’t level up no matter how many crystals we consumed..."
"Let me send you something," Hye knew it was futile to explain this in plain words. He took a screen shot from his profile and sent it to Legend in messages. And the reaction he got from Legend was quite expected, as the latter got shocked and didn’t know what to say for long minutes.
"This... How is this even possible?!!"
"That’s why I’m asking you to help me test it," Hye couldn’t promise the Legend anything, "I want to know if what I experienced can be applied to everyone else or not."
"Ok, tell me what I need to do," After checking the screenshot he received a dozen times, Legend was super excited to give this a try.
"I need you to activate your cultivation, use a technique..." Hye started to explain the method he thought of to Legend. It was simply the way he did it, despite not being sure if such a method could be repeated or not.
When Hye did it, the gem was in the middle of evolution. But now it was fully activated, and that was why Hye wasn’t sure if this method could work or not.
"My technique isn’t that impressive like yours," Legend felt a bit embarrassed when he recalled how magical Hye’s technique looked compared to his.
"It’s fine," Hye casually waved to calm him, "we just need a medium between you and the gem."
"Ok, let me give it a try," Legend took a deep breath, before taking out his sword. It was a long broadsword, looking a bit heavy. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, before opening them with a flash of white light passing through his eyes.
The sword started to shine with bright white light, as his body. Then he waved the sword, while a long arc of light appeared and moved fast to touch the gem.
"Is it working?" Hye muttered in low tone, while closely watching this. He already explained to Legend everything he felt when he did this step before, explained about the weakness he felt, and how he struggled to break free later on.
"I can feel myself wither..." Legend’s voice came a bit weak, actually he looked much weaker. He could hardly stand on his own accord, and before Hye would move fast to support him, Legend instantly started to consume the crystals Hye provided.
"It’s working... I’m feeling a bit better now..." Legend’s words made Hye heave a deep sigh of relief.
"That’s good," Hye smiled, "now try to break free from the gem..."
"I can’t," Legend’s voice wasn’t carrying much weakness like before, but it carried much of excitement, "and my stat points... They are starting to rise!"
"Brilliant!" Hye’s eyes gleamed in excitement, yet it was too early to celebrate. What Hye was worried about happened, and that was related to the fierce attachment between Legend’s technique and that gem.
"It won’t let me go," Legend was feeling more worried after the fifth time Hye replenished the exhausted crystals around.
"Don’t worry about the crystals," Hye could see through what Legend was truly worried about.
"But these crystals... They are much higher grade than normal U.stat crystals we used before, I’m sure..."
"Don’t be sure about that," Hye interrupted Legend, calmly adding in confidence, "I wasn’t fooling around in the past few months. I can satisfy any needs from these crystals. What truly matters is for you to hit the ceiling of level two, are you there yet?"
Legend took another look at his profile before sighing, "I’m midway there, the higher my stat points climb, the more getting lost to this stupid gem..."
"Don’t call it like that," Hye laughed in amusement, "if not thanks to it, we wouldn’t have gotten past level one."
"True," Legend couldn’t refute that. So, he returned to silently absorbing the crystals, while checking the slow progress of his stat points. He kept trying to pull his technique, and yet he couldn’t. And like that, a few hours passed.
"Are you sure it’ll let me go once I hit the ceiling of level two?" Legend wasn’t doubting Hye’s words, but he knew from his king that he deduced this hypothesis and was not yet sure of it.
"Let’s not jump over events for now," Hye shrugged, "even if it needed more crystals after hitting that ceiling then it’s fine, just keep it up and don’t sweat."
Hye didn’t tell Legend that he was even willing to use his dark realm bones if it was needed. Yet luckily for him, the gem let go of Legend the moment the latter hit the ceiling of level two.
"Phew, I thought it won’t let me go," Legend celebrated his freedom, before turning to Hye with a bright smile over his face, "I already feel much stronger than before!"
"Hahaha, that’s amazing," Hye was very excited at that moment. He finally found a way to overcome the boundaries enforced by the system.
Even if the price paid for a single person to bypass this limitation was quite high, it was still doable for him. He knew no matter how much price he’d pay, it was always way better than risking everything and going into the outer universe to level up.
The journey to the outer universe wasn’t just risky and full of dangers and unexpected events, it would also take him away from his greenhorn territory. He didn’t intend to leave here anytime soon, not before he would establish this place as a force to be reckoned with.
