I Really Am A Villain
Chapter 1046 - Demon Dragon Like A Dog
Xu Zimo cultivated in his room for the whole afternoon.
The power inside his body was reviving, and he could feel himself merging more and more with the world of the Outer Heavens.
Gone was the initial feeling of rejection from the world when he first arrived here.
The entire afternoon he spent restoring his strength.
By late afternoon, as the sun was slowly sinking, the Grand Elder had already sent people to summon Xu Zimo for the trial.
Inside the courtyard, Xia Wanqing called Xu Zimo into her room.
As soon as he entered, she immediately began taking off her clothes.
“Senior Sister Xia, no need to be so eager,” Xu Zimo said. “Wait until I win the trial, that’ll be fine too.”
“What are you thinking?” Xia Wanqing rolled her eyes at him.
She was wearing a thin golden silk garment.
“Wear this, it can protect you at a critical moment.”
Xu Zimo took it in his hands and sniffed it.
“You… you, how can you be like this,” Xia Wanqing blushed, embarrassed.
“Don’t get me wrong, I was just checking if you have body odor,” Xu Zimo said.
“You’re the one with body odor! If it weren’t for the fact that you’re helping me, I wouldn’t even bother with you,” Xia Wanqing snorted coldly.
“This golden silk garment, you should wear it yourself. I don’t need it,” Xu Zimo laughed.
“Don’t refuse good intentions,” Xia Wanqing said. “I’m doing this for myself too. If you happen to win, I’ll become the Young Sacred Lord.” Then Xia Wanqing added, “Of course, if it really doesn’t work out, just admit defeat. Your safety comes first.”
Xu Zimo accepted the golden silk garment with a smile and left the courtyard, Xia Wanqing following right behind him.
Disciples were already waiting at the door.
“Master Xu, please.”
Following the disciple, they headed toward the Beast-Taming Hall.
Today, the Martial Heaven Sacred Ground was particularly lively.
Perhaps because the newly arrived son-in-law was to undergo the three-trial test, all the sect disciples had come to watch.
They surrounded the Beast-Taming Hall until it was packed.
A constant buzz of chatter rose up.
“Do any of you know this new son-in-law of ours?”
“No, even the people from the Spirit Herb Mountains don’t know much. He seems really mysterious.”
When Xu Zimo arrived, the discussions grew louder.
Only when several elders stepped in to quiet them did the noise finally die down.
The Sacred Lord of Martial Heaven sat at the highest seat.
Other elders stood beside him.
The Beast Taming Hall had dozens of areas maintained by formation arrays.
Each area housed different beasts.
There were Crimson Flame Thunder Leopards, Amethyst Winged Lions, Dark Moon White Tigers… all kinds of ferocious beasts.
At the far end of the hall was a building covered up.
No one knew what was inside, but the beastly aura rolling out of it was overwhelming.
In the front stood a young man in black.
He had short hair, a resolute face, and a short blade at his waist.
His eyes were sharp and fierce.
“Mo Du,” he said to Xu Zimo, introducing himself. “I don’t intend to compete with you for victory or defeat. This is the elders’ order, please understand. In fact, I have no objection to you being Xia Wanqing’s husband.”
Xu Zimo chuckled.
The Grand Elder looked at the two and asked, “Are you ready?”
Both nodded.
Then with a shout he said, “Release the beasts, everyone back.”
Everyone retreated behind the iron fences, leaving the middle space empty.
Soon, one by one the formations were opened, and beasts slowly walked out.
As soon as they saw Xu Zimo and Mo Du, the beasts began to roar angrily.
“Beast taming can be done in many ways. You can subdue them, or you can suppress them. As long as they submit to you, it counts,” Mo Du reminded Xu Zimo.
Then he drew his short blade and charged into the group of beasts to fight.
The beasts roared.
Perhaps they had been caged too long, and each one was wild and violent.
After fighting for a while, several beasts were already lying defeated before Mo Du.
He hadn’t killed them, only beaten them down.
He turned his head to glance at Xu Zimo, wanting to see his progress.
But at that glance, he froze completely.
Xu Zimo was sitting casually on a stone, watching him fight as if it were a show.
All the beasts surrounded Xu Zimo, but not one attacked him.
“What the hell is this?” Mo Du was dumbfounded. “These beasts must be crazy. Attack him, not me!”
Trying to drag Xu Zimo into the fight, Mo Du even pushed the beasts toward him.
But to his dismay, even beasts that walked right past Xu Zimo didn’t attack him.
“How are you doing this?” Mo Du asked.
“I don’t know either,” Xu Zimo waved his hand. “Maybe I just have good charisma.”
He stood up and walked toward the far end of the hall.
Toward the area sealed by the formation.
Earlier, all the other beasts had been released, but not this one.
“What are you doing?” Mo Du shouted.
“Nothing, just taking a look,” Xu Zimo smiled.
He stepped before the formation, and with just one look of his eyes...
Though the others didn’t notice anything, suddenly the formation shattered.
A deafening beast roar thundered out from within.
“How did the formation break?” people shouted.
In an instant, the beastly aura filled the entire hall.
A purple demon dragon with seven wings appeared.
“It’s the Seven-Winged Demon Dragon, it’s about to break free!”
The dragon roared, its body bound by dozens of chains.
It struggled fiercely against them.
Before anyone could react...
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The chains all snapped.
A tidal wave of draconic might descended.
Just when everyone thought it was over, the demon dragon suddenly froze.
When they looked again, the dragon was lying on the ground, tongue out, licking Xu Zimo’s shoe.
The affectionate manner was no different from a dog.
“What the...?” Everyone was shocked.
They stood stunned, staring blankly.
Looking at each other, completely confused.
“Is this really still a demon dragon?
The beast we couldn’t subdue no matter what, now acting like a puppy before him?”
“What did you do?” Mo Du swallowed hard, asking.
“I really don’t know,” Xu Zimo shrugged innocently. “Maybe… probably because I have good charisma.”
“Charisma my ass. You’re up to no good,” Mo Du muttered.
The sudden turn of events brought the trial to a standstill.
